I lost 60lbs skipping "the most important meal of the day." I tried the 16:8. The first 30lbs was lost with no exercise or diet change, the last 30lbs were lost with diet change and exercise. It was hands down one of the best changes I have ever made in my life. 2.5K Dave Kendall Dave Kendall 1 year ago (edited) I'm living proof, I've been on a 8/16 schedule pretty much 6 days a week for around 6 months now. I'm 35yo 5'9 I started out weighting 265lbs. I'm 200lbs today. I'm actually revisiting this video, this was one of the videos that inspired me to do it. So thank you, seriously. Update: jan.9.2022 changed my profile pic so you guys can see the progression. Im hovering around 170 now. Getting leaned out. Thanks again for all the support 🙏 ❤ 1.7K Shyanne Pilch Shyanne Pilch 1 year ago I’ve been intermittent fasting for over a year! Single-handedly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s completely transformed my entire life, healed my body and cleared my mind! 808 Catherine Hughes Catherine Hughes 7 months ago I found this talk in September 2020 and it has been life-changing. Down 70lbs in one year. Thank you. 651 Neon Noir Neon Noir 10 months ago (edited) I was one of those obese women at 5'2 and 210. I had enough and went keto with IF and hit the gym to build some lean muscle. Hit 138 lbs and went from a size 20 to a size 8. I look phenomenal and feel amazing. 327 Julchen Julchen 5 months ago (edited) I am 50. Been fasting 30 years( intermittently& extended fasts). I approve this message.👏 Spiritual, physical, mental/cognitive benefits💜🙏 77 Ilshim 34 Ilshim 34 2 years ago My intermittent fasting consists of eating between 12pm and 4pm and fasting the rest of time. I have been doing this for over eight months and I feel as good as I can be at my age (I will be 77 in a few days!) I am extremely poor, so I can't afford the best quality salmon, and most of my vegetables, avocados, and nuts are not organic, but I eat as healthy as my budget allows. Sometimes what you don't eat is just as important as what you eat. Avoid processed and sugary foods, avoid restaurants (I can't afford them anyway!), make everything from scratch, chew your food well, etc. Hope it helps! 6K Sabrina Barreau Sabrina Barreau 9 months ago I’ve been fasting the last couple of months and it’s going great. A little harder to control at night but getting easier. I did it because I was sick of the late night snacking and all day cravings. The fasting has really helped and it’s boosted my self esteem as I feel more in control of my diet. 271 Agustina Agustina 1 year ago I've been fasting for 16 hours a day (it's really easy if you consider that you will be asleep half the time). I feel so much better, it's truly amazing how much energy we can take out of ourr own bodies 359 judyth mmaxerh judyth mmaxerh 10 months ago (edited) This is so inspiring am making a commitment right here Officially started today...weight is 237lbs. I'll update every other month. My goal weight is 154lbs. I have been obese my entire life its about time. I can do all things in HIM who strengthens me. June:237.6lbs July 31: 227.7lbs 493 Timithos Timithos 1 year ago I intermitted fasted for about 30 days using 16/8, but also eliminated sugar, processed food, and chemicals (colorings, preservatives, pesticides). My main two meals I pressure cooked were organic turkey & vegetable chili, and wild caught Alaskan salmon/potatoes/carrots. I lost 21 pounds with no exercise. 574 New Race New Race 1 month ago Concept of Intermittent fasting is being practiced in India for thousands of years and we call it Upvaas. It has a very positive impact on overall health of an individual. 46 Roger Thompson Roger Thompson 2 years ago I used to weigh over 400 pounds. In a little over a year I have been able to to lose over 100 pounds over the last year. I did this by intermittent fasting and switched to a WFPB (Whole Foods Plant-Based) lifestyle. No exercise, no counting calories. I am disabled so I couldn't exercise. But now with the weight loss, I can exercise. Exercise is a necessary key component for me now. I got down below 300 pounds and suddenly my weight loss stalled. So now I do DDP YOGA and use a stationary exercise bike. The adventure continues. 1.3K Saul Smith Saul Smith 2 months ago I started intermittent fasting in October of last year and I have lost 30 pounds so far. Started out at 230 pounds and for the first time in almost a decade I weighed under 200 pounds yesterday. I eat dinner at 7 PM and don’t eat again until 11 AM at the earliest. Multiple times a week I will do one meal a day. I’ve drastically cut out sugar and carbs, although not completely. This weight loss has happened with minimal exercise. I’ve just recently decided to go on daily brisk walks for 30 minutes during my fasted state. I know it’s different for everyone, but for me, this was shockingly simple. 70 BrooklynAllDay BrooklynAllNight BrooklynAllDay BrooklynAllNight 5 months ago Me and my wife are intermittent fasting, we just started though, we only eat between 4pm-8pm, and it's low carb, low sugar, keto but not really keto, it's only been 15 days but we are sticking to it and staying strong. Good luck to all who are trying to do the right thing for their bodies. 75 Allie Lovette Allie Lovette 7 months ago I gained so much weight with my pregnancies and was really struggling postpartum. I started intermittent fasting in November 2020, not eating until noon or after 8pm, and by March I was down 40lbs. I started working out a few days a week with weightlifting, but I had to give that up when I returned to the office regularly. I now IF 5-6 days a week, giving myself some grace on the weekends to have breakfast with my family. It wasn't a diet, it wasn't restrictive, and it worked. I wasn't overly strict with what I ate during my eating window. If I wanted pizza, I had pizza. If I wanted a cookie, I had a cookie. I found my appetite shrunk and it took a lot less to make me full. Before, I would practically binge eat and not be able to stop. Now moderation is easy and I don't feel like I am restricting myself or starving. It has changed my life! 116 Anne Caffery Anne Caffery 8 months ago I started gaining weight in my 40’s, found myself up 30 pounds. At 50, I started the practice of not eating between 7pm and 1pm every day. At 70 years old, I am lean, at optimum BMI now, never gain weight, and feel great. I eat healthy, but have some little treats too! Great way to live! 85 Chantelle Panapa Chantelle Panapa 11 months ago Thank you so much for the video! Ever since I had my daughter I have gained so much weight. I weighed myself in the weekend and I cried when I saw “141.3kgs” I knew I was the only one responsible and knew I was the only one who could help myself to change that. Watched a bunch of videos on IF and happy to say on day four I am down to 137.4kgs 🙂 out of all the different ways I have tried to lose weight, this truly is the best way for me. It’s mentally challenging, but rewarding at the same time. My mind is clear and my mood is zen. Will come back in a month to update! 🥰 28 Socrates Indigo Socrates Indigo 2 years ago Eating little and no snacking in between meals is how the rest of the world lives naturally. I've never heard of snacking untill I got to the US. Great lecture. 2.5K Shevet Levi Shevet Levi 1 year ago She's absolutely right. I lost 20 pounds without much effort. After a few months of this I had my annual physical exam and all of my blood values improved. 44 Fernando Antillon Fernando Antillon 1 year ago (edited) Been fasting for 2 months now, I’m just a regular guy with regular work hours, local truck driver, just wanted to post for encouragement. I’ve lost 30 pounds in 2 months with no other changes other than fasting. No exercise no supplement. Anyone can do it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼and I cheat, I have coffee with cream every morning 😑 3.5K Carolyn Jaynes Carolyn Jaynes 1 year ago (edited) Truth! It really works. Thank you. I’ve only done 16:8 for one week and I already feel lighter in the belly, mentally clearer, and more confident. I have more control over my eating and feel less hungry overall. This is really amazing! 24 Golden Warrior Training Golden Warrior Training 2 months ago I never knew I could get “ripped” at 51… until I started intermittent fasting. I work out at 8 AM on an empty stomach and have loads of energy. Amazing paradigm shift going from 3 to 2 meals a day - and I do 18/6 IF. Thanks for passing on a very important message. 14 La’Niyah D La’Niyah D 6 months ago (edited) It’s a fascinating idea! I started about three days ago, I’m gonna come back with updates! I also forgot to let you know i’m doing the 18:6 (9:00pm - 3:00pm) method with mild routine workouts each morning with only eating around 1200 calories a day, oddly enough it’s filling. At least for me lol Height: 5’8 Current Weight: 173 lbs Goal: 130 lbs 10/28/21 - 173.1 lbs 11/08/21 - 166.3 lbs 11/17/21 - 162.9 lbs 11/24/21 - 161.9 lbs 01/05/22 - The method itself does indeed work, I no longer fast due to the fact that I do now go to the gym & lift.. I’m not able to hit the amount of calories I need in a day while fasting, I just couldn’t and I needed a lot more than 1200 calories a day lol no one should have that few a day unless instructed by a licensed professional. I focus more on being in a caloric deficit as well as tracking my macronutrients. Fasting itself is a great idea, I will find myself going back to it because I genuinely do enjoy it but as of now that it is not the most beneficial path I can take for myself and the goals I am trying to reach. I will leave my previous comments up so you can see it did indeed work in terms of losing weight though i’m sure that was a lot of water weight haha, best of luck to you! 107 Guillermo Guillermo 2 months ago (edited) Never has been possible to me since I was 20 years old to weight less than 76kg (167lbs). Thanks to 16:8 fasting today it's true! I'm 40 years old. I eat the same, I exercise the same. Just leaving the body a restoration time seems to be the clue. Now I feel better and with sharper mind on the morning than ever before. And it's Free! 30 Corey Freeman Corey Freeman 9 months ago (edited) I'm here to confirm this is the best strategy that has worked for me with zero gym work during the lockdown (Been in the gym for years). started fasting 4 months ago at 265lbs...I'm a natural heavyweight but have since dropped down to 228 lbs. I feel so good, My prehypertension is gone, I have way more energy, clarity and my nice clothes fit again. At 40+ I feel like I'm 20 something again. The biggest thing guys is to skip the sugar, sugary drinks (I don't drink alcohol, so that helps a lot as well). This is now part of my lifestyle. Not going backward again. 46 RodaKay57 RodaKay57 1 year ago As a 62 year old woman, I was exercising at a gym 5/6 days a week... eating low carb... lost some weight. Added the fast... doubled my weight lost, muscle increase, great mood, increased energy and I was never hungry!!! THIS WORKS!!! 840 Futterman Farms Futterman Farms 1 year ago I've been doing this for 2 months and Ive lost 30 pounds and I feel fantastic. I don't eat breakfast, just a cup of green tea. I also took sugar and most carbs out of my diet. I needed to loose 50 so 20 to go, and I will keep doing this. I feel like I will finally win the weight battle I've fought all my 60+ years. 9 Ruby Church Ruby Church 11 months ago I began intermittent fasting in January. I’ve dropped a kilogram each month, so six kilograms. feel the best I’ve felt in a decade. I am in my size 12 jeans without a muffin top. Not difficult, nor am I craving sugar or salt any more. I eat good healthy food between approximately midday and six pm. Need nothing else. It’s the best thing ever. I’m 56 and feel better than I have in 30 odd years. 78 Daniela Di Sante Daniela Di Sante 6 months ago I’ve been doing this for years. I’ve sometimes stopped but then went back to it and when I do intermittent fasting it’s when I feel best! I’ve got more energy, more concentration, I want to exercise, and I don’t feel sluggish and sleepy. Some super models adopt this technique too 56 Behind the Muscle Behind the Muscle 3 months ago Another benefit of intermittent fasting is digestion. It gives your digestive systems a break and can do wonders for helping heal/strengthen your gut! 49 Cameron Clark Cameron Clark 6 months ago Just found this last month. Absolutely amazing 👏 377 Selma G Selma G 9 months ago great speech. also the first time i heard someone mentioning that IF can be triggering/bad for people that have a history of an eating disorder oder other health issues. so important to mention!!! thank you! 9 Chris Bystroff Chris Bystroff 8 months ago Hurray! I have been intermittent fasting for 5 years, and I feel great. Doctors need to be on-board with this curative and energizing lifestyle. 20 Fiona Sedgwick Fiona Sedgwick 1 month ago Ive been doing 16\8 intermittent fasting for 5 years now and i love it. It helps me control my weight and reduces stress on my digestion. I generally dont eat after 7pm or before 11am. 19 _Theo _Theo 1 year ago I started Intermittent Fasting 5 months ago and my belly is finally going away. One thing to remember is: if like me, you were a religious breakfast eater, it's gonna be hard for the first few days to resist eating. But your body gets used to the time it expects you to eat and thus you'll feel less and less hungry for breakfast as the days go by, which will make IF more natural for you in the long-run 👍🏾 51 KeepMyCooo KeepMyCooo 6 months ago (edited) Fasting on a 18-6 schedule right now, about 3 days in. Way easier after those first 12 hours, your body gets used to it surprisingly fast. Anyways, I will be updating whoever is interested every month. I love people who walk their talk. 1.2K TheyCallMeRAVEN TheyCallMeRAVEN 9 months ago I have been doing intermittent fasting for the last 3 weeks now. Although I have not lost a significant amount of weight yet, I noticed that I am more active during the day than like 4 weeks ago. Also when I wake up in the morning, I don't feel tired at all. I used to wake up at 8:30 in the morning, and that's with an alarm clock. But now, my body would just start waking up at 6 or 7 on its own. My belly is also not as hard as it used to be. Before, I felt like I was bloated all day. I can actually see and feel that it's shrinking. 11 ronald smith ronald smith 2 years ago I’m 73 years old. Down 50 pounds in 7 months. Doing 16/8. No problem. 2.9K Vy Lam Vy Lam 6 months ago Wow! Love how she really goes in-depth into the topic. She is very clear and realistic about intermittent fasting. And she is right! We don't need to break our bank to look and feel good 14 1flute23922 1flute23922 7 months ago I love IF. I've done it off and on for few years. Mostly 16:8, but depending on work schedule, I did 18-22 hrs fasting often. It gives you so much energy and once you get into the routine for just a few days you don't get hungry during your fasting times, your internal body clock sets in. Did it for 6 months straight last year and was losing so much weight again and feeling great. Holidays came and I did good until xmas-new year's. Then my work schedule changed too and I haven't been able to discipline myself since 😭. After watching this going to try again this weekend. I know it works so not sure my problem. Wondering if I'm weird, but most people seem to skip morning meal, but I need to eat soon after waking or I get nauseated and just can't get going at work. My favorite time slot for eating is 6:30a-2:30p or 7:30a-3:30p. I find that way I sleep so much better. No heartburn/reflux problems and night time panic attacks go away. Even if not for weight loss, it just feels better to not be eating and snacking all day long. 13 Karène Le Blanc Karène Le Blanc 1 month ago There was a great documentary on Netflix called The Magic Pill, which highlighted the benefits of IF and low carb eating combined. A doctor in it said that when a patient comes in with an ailment, the first question should be, “what are you eating?” That always stood out to me. 18 Imy Barrientos Imy Barrientos 1 year ago Thank you so much for the motivation Ms. Thurlow. I will start IF today but since its already 4PM here in the country where I am staying at, i will eat my last meal at 6 PM and will eat my first meal tomorrow around 10 AM. I will try the 16:8 IF for a week and will continue as long as I can. Once again, thank you so much! Will give my updates here hopefully i can do it everyday 😬😬😬 9 Luna Luna Luna Luna 2 weeks ago I have been IF for almost two years. 16:8 is my go-to. Lost over 20 pounds the first year. No workout because I was in my uni final year. I dropped to 65kg and lost the belly. Other than feeling healthier, I sure saved a lot of money as a student. 7 Zita Ranics Zita Ranics 2 months ago I've been doing this on and off for about a year now. Not only have I lost a bit of extra weight (which was my goal) but I've also noticed that I get less head aches. Wish I knew about it sooner ... none of my DRs talked to me about it but it really should be more of a discussion. 7 Lisa Ariaz Lisa Ariaz 1 year ago (edited) Im on day 7, and i've already lost 9 pounds! this really works! btw i used the 16/8 method :) update: i've lost 18 pounds! 1.2K Juju Rodriguez Juju Rodriguez 1 year ago I lost 23 pounds after about 1 month of fasting. I've eliminated ALL sugary drinks, sugary snacks, foods high in sodium. I usually have "breakfast" at around 12:30 pm, and I have my last meal at around 4:30 pm. I try not to eat anything after 5:00 pm, and I exercise from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. My diet consits of a lot of vegetables, soup, fruits, salmon, chicken. 54 daya manipuri daya manipuri 1 year ago Started IF 3 weeks back.. It was quite easy from the start. I followed 16:8 method. I didn't exercise at all during this time. First 2 weeks no significant changes, I was losing hope but decided to continue atleast for 1 month as she mentioned. Starting of 3rd week i started losing weight but what i am so amazed is, the stubborn fats on my belly region is gone. I lose around 2 inches and my abdomen is almost flat now not to add it hardened like I exercise daily. 😁 23 Warden Cobb Warden Cobb 1 year ago I strongly urge everyone to fast. I'm pretty sure we're meant to fast as a species. Never felt better. Ever. I regularly so intermittent fasting but I also do 80 hour fasts every 2-3 weeks along with ultra clean keto with 0 net carbs. The mental clarity, the overall healthy feeling... It's amazing. Jo -SWEETS- C. 1 year ago Intermittent Fasting works so well for me. I'm a 66 year old woman and use an alternate day, (1 day 20 hour fasting/4hour feeding schedule, followed by 1 day regular meal schedule). I have lost 30 lbs, gotten my BF% back down to 19-20% and I am keeping the weight off. I exercise daily, have plenty of energy and stamina. It also stay more mindful by recording the foods that I eat using a fitness app. This helps make sure that on the days I eat, I'm not going overboard on the calories. 17 Richard Higel Richard Higel 1 year ago I appreciate your presentation. I practice 16/8, more like 17/7, but that aside. The other thing that I wish would be discussed on these presentations is a combination of IF with eating slower and prolonging the meal/ or snack. I find that I eat less calories this way, and feel fuller longer. I think that those two strategies: IF, and eating/drinking slower would be very powerful tools to help the obesity issue in our country. 10 Amanda Moseley Amanda Moseley 10 months ago I started doing this about a week ago and have lost around 8 to 9 pounds so far. I’m really hoping I can stick with it. I’m not super strict with the 16 hour fast sometimes I’ll do 15 or 14 hours but I always shoot for 16. 12 Nikki Lewis Nikki Lewis 1 year ago Cynthia Thurlow's advice here changed my life!!! I highly recommend it, I went from a size 14/16 to a size 8/10, my brain was functioning so amazingly and I was happy everyday day. I paired it up with daily yoga, breathing exercises, meditation, healthy eating (avocados, sourdough bread, smoothies and loads of nuts...). I do have to say, it is a lot easier to pick up this habit if you live on your own, if you have people at home with you that aren't taking this on it's gonna be a bit of a challenge, so good luck! I'm gonna start doing it again. 224 norma m. norma m. 1 day ago I was just diagnosed with Insulin resistance and I have hit my highest weight ever (245lbs)!! I’m so sad, stressed and disappointed.
