Now following this plan to expand what I believe has been working for me . I even get more done when in a fasting state , including bills and important events , seems that I think clearer when properly hydrated and drinking Kambutcha type drinks etc . 7 DingleySquare DingleySquare 1 year ago The question "why we age?" is easy to answer when one gets to later ages. Wisdom does not necessarily arrive early in life. I am an identical twin and possibly the black sheep of the family and I have outlived a fine twin sister. Death is for those who are extremely ill or restricted and no wish to live beyond reasonable years. It all depends on one's life, on family connections and the ubiquitous wish to watch grand children etc grow up. If we have active and enquiring brains and a healthy body we can have the capacity to use our wisdom and live mentally active and positive lives beyond the norm. That is we take responsibility for our actions and create the life we want or endeavour to do so. Sadly many humans at this time do not take up the challenge of change required to continue further than the age of life expectancy, etc, etc..... I wondered how a younger person was able to talk about living longer because when he gets to his 70's, he will be faced with challenges not offered before. He will make changes in his health or life directions that might be needed and there will be enormous differences. It all boils down to what we think and feel at any particular age. And older still, I am not sure it is length that we will go for but simply enjoy quality of life and allow it to unfold. I, personally do not wish to put an age for future death however I am sure there is more for me to learn and achieve if I choose to acquire the mindset needed to further new wishes, dreams, goals - whatever. We age and die because it would appear to be a universal law of human nature. The differences between the young and the older persons are many and create many misunderstandings. The world needs new minds to let go of old (no longer of use) values to make way for the new (not necessarily better) values of the young. Death like Winter is the natural way of things. Long live Spring. 25 alexandria nguyen alexandria nguyen 1 year ago Excellent class . Very educational, very informative. 7 Kailey Green Kailey Green 1 year ago David Sinclair, you are the greatest scientist and a legend. I would be honored to join you to find a youth cure for everybody once and for all. 10 evoman1776 evoman1776 1 year ago (edited) Christopher Hitchens had a great line about dying, he said "People say the party is over when you die but it's even worse - the party's going to go on but you have to leave" That really sucks. Let's end aging by 2050. 289 Steven Fenster Steven Fenster 4 months ago Sinclair's brilliance comes from having asked the questions as to why we age, and if we can address that.
