He never disappoints, and his kinship with Freeman is on point for his role here as Commander Rayden. The main difficulty, insofar as I gather from reading their reviews, is that there was nothing unique about this telling of the 47 Ronin story. But, as anyone can see, it's a highly imaginative and strikingly dramatic presentation. For the critics, if you stage "Hamlet," it has to be considered boring, since we all know how it's going to end -- unless there's a sex-change operation performed mid-way through.
