Cristina Ivan Cristina Ivan 5 months ago Naomi Whittel is definitely a pleasant presence and Tom is a great host, as always, but I've noticed few interesting things: 1.that she does not know some answers and Tom is kindly helping about that, 2.that she speaks about living natural, using facial masks all the time and even selling her own lines of skin products, but in the same time she seems loaded with botox to say the least (she has very limited facial expression - glabella is just an example). Also, 3.that she promotes some hyaluronic acid facial cream, while it is a fact that HA molecule is too large to be effectively absorbed into the skin and 4.that she does not believe physical exercise is natural, but she is planning to sell a program that involves some sort of PE. So, she gives mixed advice - some useful and true, but some just plain bs meant for boosting sales of some products. For me, this means that her purpose is not speaking the truth, as she does not really do what she preaches. So, enjoy the video, but follow with prudence. 135 KenDBerryMD KenDBerryMD 3 years ago Great interview! I'm so glad Autophagy and State are becoming terms that normal people can understand and implement in their own lives. After watching enough episodes of Health Theory people can start educating their own doctor... 436 Aikitty Aikitty 1 year ago I actually did most of these low key and didn’t realized she is so right...a lot of people really say I look so young for my age and I actually feel it too. Mindset is so important. The past should stay in the past if it’s dragging you to stay down, it’ll become your future unfortunately. Avocado toast delicious with turmeric, salt and pepper. I only use Korean and Japanese beauty products and wear less makeup non- high end only. How come no one talks about Mac and how they are over high priced products may cause cancer. It says on the label and people still put it on proudly. Good luck 💋💋 95 James Chong James Chong 4 months ago I’ve been working out for 24 yrs and everyone says I look 8-10 yrs younger and I was never a health conscious eater. You really can sense she has been on a journey & her insights on anti-aging & wellness are radical in some ways yet grounded & practical. I can’t wait to read her book & so excited I found someone I can learn from. Thank you so much!! 💗 14 Holly Fortenberry Holly Fortenberry 3 years ago I totally agree with her about the exercise being sort of fake. I've always felt that way. The way I can tell is by how I feel. I feel like it sucks my soul to exercise at the gym or on machines anywhere; while on the other hand, when I am doing something natural, like playing in a physical way, running around with friends during a game of tag or swimming in the ocean, it feels wonderful! It feels good because it feels REAL to me. I'm moving the way my body was designed to move, rather than on a machine that only engages certain muscles in a mechanical way. 72 moonspir moonspir 2 years ago Awesome interview and very enlightening on so many fronts. Exciting to see more people understand the awe of life 🥰 still, i look forward to when people realize (and begin to speak more life) it’s not about “building the fountain of youth,” “looking younger,” but maintaining youthfulness even as the years continue forward. There’s a difference. 😌 for the body is constantly regenerating when provided healthy conditions. The body will also do it’s best to maintain under challenging conditions. I appreciate how Ms. Whittel did not simply give "magic bullet" answers and kept referring to a more holistic approach. They lightly touched on so many important topics, that if she went into the complete depth of her knowledge and experience, this could have very well been a twenty plus hour, segmented series. Good job! So many interesting topics for further study. 1 Pam Pam 2 years ago Brilliant interview, I can't wait to get her book to learn more, she's amazing. In the past, our fitness came from walking, running, crawling, foraging, fighting, lifting/moving things that get in our way. The modern world has given us many comforts and I am greatful for many of them. But, the same world took away the need to express our strength and movement. I'm telling you man, she is ahead of many scientists just because she is willing to hear scientist but most scientist won't be willing to listen to her. 3 N. Leticia Trevino N. I like what she says about working out and I agree; most exercise programs are not healthy. I also like the thought that everyone should study their own health program. I think so many people are too quick to go to the doctor for every ache and pain. Pain is not only part of life, it may even be the impetus that causes all species to evolve and it is what brought about our consciousness. I'm more curious about periodic fasting. BTW, I started a protocol from "Cure Tooth Decay" and my eczema went away; probably because I was taking in more bone broth, fermented cod liver oil, collagen , boron and copper. So, I know that this wonderful woman is talking about is true. 10 Jonathan David Jonathan David 3 years ago Tom I’ve been watching since 40k subs man, love your work! I've been IF for a few years now, i recently stopped working out as i felt like it was stressing out my body and my body looks and feels the same as it did when i was working out, i've lost a little weight but in a good way... i always use natural products on my skin like the ones she mentioned, homemade coffee scrubs, oil cleansing, i spritz my face with rosewater every morning, i recently started doing gua-sha to reduce puffiness in the morning as well and have always fed my skin from the inside out with food and also supplements like biotin and plant-based collagen. i don't eat any animal products though, i think eating plants is far more nourishing for your skin and your long-term health. i'm approaching my mid 30s but ppl always assume im mid 20s. Im definitely going to be buying her book, thanks for featuring her on the show, this was great! 4 Mimi Edwards Mimi Edwards 2 years ago Tom you are so incisive and rigorous as an interviewer, I love all the stuff you do. I was really looking forward to her before-bed skin care routine (which I thought was a brilliant question to ask, props to Tom) and she was soooo vague about it, how hard is it to say what you put on your face on a given night? I know that most women don’t use the same regimen every night, including me, but I can sure walk you through my routines with precision. Tom, you have all my gratitude for always asking such substantial questions. Till next time! 406 Holly Fortenberry Holly Fortenberry 3 years ago (edited) Tom, what she was saying about stress kicking you out of ketosis is very true. It's based on the fact that stress causes a secretion of cortisol and epinephrine/adrenaline which makes your body produce glucose which then makes your insulin go up. Of course, insulin stops ketosis in it's tracks. I know this from my own experience. I've suffered from anxiety/panic attacks and measured my glucose and ketones before during and after those episodes and watched my glucose go from 85 to 105 in a matter of a minute and my ketones drop down to nothing. Otherwise, I normally am in a constant state of about 1-3 level of ketones (depending on if I am fasting that day or not). Stress is horrible for your blood sugar and metabolism. It puts you in that sympathetic state and makes you gain weight or at least prevents you from losing weight because of the presence of insulin. The same thing happens when you don't get enough sleep, you trigger cortisol and that shoots up your glucose and subsequently your insulin which shuts down ketosis. 48 Yo Hahn Yo Hahn 2 years ago High Days: 5am, mindset motivation/5:30 1 liter of water/6am, black coffee then lift heavy weights fasted(3x a week);getting that natural UV from the sun for at least 30mins/during the day - water, black coffee or green tea/7pm Jiujitsu/9:30pm fatty Steak Normal Days: 5am, mindset motivation/5:30 1liter of water/6am, black coffee/lots of water during the day/eat after the fast, depends whenever my 18hr fasting ends/go out with friend occasionally, beer maintained 170lbs, didn't got sick for almost 5years now just by fasting, lifting heavy weights while fasted, coffee, green tea and lots of meat and fat and - - - BEER 4 👑 Kween 👑 Kween 2 years ago Fantastic interview. Although you did ask key questions such as diet and skincare, she didn’t answer anything directly. Her work is a lot of contradictions and regurgitated info that is found by a simple google search - Seriously all of it was word for word. She also has the luxury to access top surgeons as well as products we don’t have here in the US. Sorry to say I’m not buying any of this. I hope you saw through her BS part way through this interview. 3 Andrea Winchester Andrea Winchester 3 years ago Building healthy skin from the inside out happens primarily through diet. However since @TomBilyeu asked repeatedly about Naomi's skin, I notice she is wearing a soft off-white ivory color that works well with her natural coloring. Tom's natural coloring is similar, however he wears a lot of black and primary colors that are very harsh against his skin, and which drain the color from his face. Wearing the correct colors can make a person look warm and alive or like death warmed over. Do a search on "color and style" or "which colors are right for you?" or even "seasonal color theory" to learn more. This is true for men as well as women. I would love to see Tom wear more colors that will reflect his basic handsome face and super intuitive nature. He is "yin" (and also strong ) and should wear medium tone, blended yin colors. I also feel that sun exposure without spf on bare skin is important-- just get out of the sun before any burning happens. Skin that burns too fast is a sign of systemic inflammation which again needs to be addressed through diet. 2 Kevin Burtnick Kevin Burtnick 3 years ago It absolutely does reduce anxiety. I feel that my body was working with the same foods for 30+ years then was forced into a ketogenic diet by me out of something as shallow as appearance. After having tried it my body just hasn't been able to handle a regular diet anymore. I've eaten a diet based around mostly veggies but began feeling extremely bloated after day 2. So yeah, I think we all have a certain way of eating that our bodies are accustomed to and to change that out of the blue (and for no medical reasons) is probably not a good idea. I've been lethargic and unwell for a good while now. My hair grew I saw my first white hair also and I think it has everything to do with my inability to eat the way I used to but keep trying to. I honestly think keto is a dangerous path to take for the sake of vanity. Maria Mccord Maria Mccord 5 months ago I love her thank you so much for this broadcast. I do not wish to detract from Naomi’s incredible efforts to defy ageing naturally, but it’s quite clear to me that she’s had Botox which is not really consistent with her ‘all in with both feet with the pure and clean approach.’ It was certainly a fascinating interview. 9 Scott Herford Scott Herford 2 years ago (edited) Naomi is right about mindset because she can catch herself moving from a useful state to upset. What she didn't cover that is the most ubiquitous factor is light and dark expoure, and the 2017 nobel prize for medicine was for the discovery of circadian rhythm mini clocks. Although, she had no problems giving herself credit, sometimes at inappropriate times of the interview process. Don’t get me wrong, there’s no harm in tooting your own horn - and of course do that as part of this is self promotion. BUT when you aren’t truly willing to share any information, and in the end the interview was mostly centered around her being well traveled and well informed, yet unwilling to share that knowledge - (which builds confidence in her ability to convey information, hence book sales) then it’s just plain unconvincing that you know enough to share concrete data that we can put to practice easily. If she can’t speak in a plain language in an interview, I just won’t buy her book. I give Tom an A+ for all the ways he tried to pin her down, which sadly mostly resulted in a non answer, or an answer that left you more confused than inspired. A good gauge in an excellent interview - can you take notes? If your pencil won’t stop, and you have to pause the interview to give you time to write, you nailed it. If I can’t move my pencil to an answer anywhere, you’re not doing that hot. I am a tough sell when it comes to how I spend my time. I hardly watch videos - i would rather be reading/learning. Tom however, I gravitate towards because he’s the male version of me. Forever inquisitive, he searches the globe for people rich in resource, work ethic, and knowledge, unique and depth in lived experience....and he’s actually willing to share what he learns, while challenging viewpoints to better understand every side of an issue. This is the only true way to immortality. He speaks my language. I honestly never subscribe to you tube stuff, despite all the obnoxious requests you get from every you tuber now a-days. Tom, I did without the ask. A credit to his quality and ethics. I’m a fan. Just wanted to actually say that, cause I don’t think we can hear that enough in our lives! Way to go my friend. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 18 C O C O 3 years ago "there are so many types of pesto" An Italian grandma from Genoa died when she said that. 275 Tina T Tina T 10 months ago I have a juice that I make in my vitamix everyday - it has spinach, coconut water, blueberries, pear, banana, probiotic yogurt, honey, concentrated cranbury juice, flax seeds all organic of course.
