Dr. David Sinclair on Unlocking the Secrets of Aging | The Keep Going Podcast
TB12 Sports

Our guest for today's episode is Dr. David Sinclair. David is a long time friend of TB12 and a tenured Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School. His book, Lifespan, which we sell at our Performance & Recovery Centers, became a NY Times Bestseller in 2019.
While David is best known for his work on genes that delay and reverse aging, he has also published over 200 scientific papers and has co-founded a variety of biotechnology companies in the areas of metabolic diseases, inflammation, infectious disease detection, and more.
What we appreciate most in our conversations with David is his unique ability to simplify these complex concepts in a way that's easy for everyone to understand. In our discussion today, we focus on the types of food David believes we should all be eating, how to time your food intake to minimize the stress it puts on your body, and the importance of sleep and the circadian rhythm – something we focus on with all of our clients at TB12.

I fast 15 hours every day with no problem. I exercise using yoga, walking up steep hills, and riding my bicycle. I had a hard time getting to sleep. I tried a melatonin supplement and it worked well. I have been on a plant-based diet for 10 years and it has been an incredibly positive change.

Thanks to Dr.David A.Sinclair and interviewer John.🙏Just ask the questions we worried a lot in an goos order.👏This second listening made me understand more, probably will listen one or twice more. These diet makes me confused. In Lifespan i understood like, meat is bad ,,that 7 Amino Acids are bad to humans but on the other hand today Dear Biologist told us eat ,if you made an serious exercise at gym, which is a new hope to me.I 'm meat lover as well , i can never feel full with veges and that terrible carbs loads with sugar.I"m over 55 first time in my life taste sweet potatoes or rice or pasta .I never eat carbs but I have plaques in my neck around %20.So time to eat red meat once a week or never may be.What about Turkey meat, organic chicken are they life treating , I don't know. But Thank you thank you. YES he sounds like us and that part put us more shock , he is a normal human like us.Love his memories with his family and send my good wishes to his father.Sorry for his mum🙏.But her soul must be in piece for what his son is doing for humans.God Bless Mr.David A.Sinclair and his family. This world needs this calm talking Biologist a lot.Pls Pls more Podcasts like this in this question form is needed again.Pls don"t let us waiting long period of time.💝💝💝

We can strive to stay healthy and there are limits. When I was a teen, I look like my mom, slowly I turn out to look like my dad.

Its really great on his diet tips and what he eats.
Nice to know his view on the two schools on thought on whether to eat meat or not. Or whether to eat a lot of protein or minimal protein. He says he's in the middle.
Wow. Exercise like bike riding a few times a week can reduce a fatale disease by 40% later in life.

Very interesting. Like I always say: I'm not so hopeful about anti-aging research (I'm almost 90 years of age - but possibly kids around 30 today will see anti-aging research when they are my age). BUT: why always mice? We want to see the human cure. Why always talk about mice? What good does it do if he can play with mice's epigenome? It's good for the mouse race I guess!

I fast for 23 hours daily with no problem. I do the OMAD diet as what Dr. David Sinclair is doing and I've been losing pounds since. I never felt this light and great at the same time. If ever I would feel hungry on those 23 hours of fasting daily, I would just grab some almonds or a raw banana, just what Dr. Sinclair has advised, and that's what kept me on this kind of diet. I don't feel too hungry or food deprived at all. Plus I drink lots of water throughout the day and a cup of green tea in the morning. I only eat a full regular meal at lunch time, that's what works for me.

i was interested in anti-aging because of the stories of the Greek and Sumerian gods and goddesses and how they have eternal life because of something they had access to that mortal man did not. it was then i knew there was a way to to reverse aging. imagine parents, grandparents, and children all living in their prime for long periods of time. generation after generation how cool would it be to know your great grandparents as you know your friends or grandchildren as friends.

The central theme to retard the rate of aging or escape accelerated aging which we are all at a high risk from due to pollution, poor diet, the lazy environment, stress etc is that if you have sad genetics you work for happy genetics.

If I were commissioned to do this chore of - Unlocking the Secrets of Aging - I will try the master key police and burglars use, or call a locksmith to tackle the lock and get to those secret stash. Calling a locksmith seems far wiser than a Harvard genetics professor. What does Dr. Sinclair know about tapping locks. Was his previous profession a nighttime bandit?

I would recommend Intermittent fasting for everyone, the 8/16 diet. Eat lunch and dinner, skip breakfast.
Once you done it strictly for about a week at most then the body is used to it and you will never really want breakfast.
At least that's how it is for me and I used to love breakfasts, but now I feel better without it.

The reason for BG spikes is intromyocellular lipid from animal fat and oils that prevent glucose penetration into cells, therefore, circulating in the blood in high concentration.

I know the main reason of the scratches on the CD. Is the oxidative state of body exposed to daily mold from air and mycotoxins and toxic substances, also a highly carb diet promotes mycotoxins and adrenal overdrive in the body.

David is in a process of a EXPERIMENT ! It is STILL unknown if the results will be positive or negative ! Give it 20 to 30 years down the road to actually see some of the results. There are many that follow and that will also contribute to results ! Keep in mind EVERYTHING got PRICE ! Good Luck !

This man doesn't eat right, he takes high blood pressure meds every single day. He dyes his hair every day and dyes his beard every single day just like my aunt who does not want to show her grays by looks very young looking for her age of 74 years. She has no wrinkles. I have discovered the secret. I do a 6 Day Water only fast every month. I prep for 3 Days before and follow the 6 day water-only fast with 9 days of refeeding. I live a lifestyle without processed foods. I eat mostly plant-based foods and I do not eat pork or beef and little or no meat daily.

Here's where it gets confusing - if fasting leads to stress and signals a threat and hence create a defense mechanism i.e sitruin, resveratrol etc., is well noted.
But, if we fast on a regular basis and becomes a habit, doesn't our body gets accustom to it, so that it no longer feels threatened? If so, then over time the fastings will lose its purpose. Can you explain if this is so?
