most popular song each month since january 1980

most popular song each month since january 1980 7,783,270 views Sep 8, 2022 #2000s #2010s #evolution Determining the most popular song each month was done with MediaTraffic, which averages the charts from many different countries. I went with what was number one 95% of the time but I wanted to make sure this video also had a true evolution of music feel so I didn't always do that. Songs do not repeat and if a song was number one for multiple months it won't always be the second most popular song to replace it as it can really be anything that was very popular at the time. I did this, again, to have that evolution of music feel to it. Because the dates are different everywhere, this video probably isn't accurate to your country specifically. Due to the length of this video, it's only available in 720p and there will be no Spotify playlist. Spotify profile: https://open.spotify.com/user/31omd6j... I loved this! It made me crazy nostalgic and close to tears at times. It also was weird to see what eras of my life I was tuned out of popular culture and when I was deep in it. Creating this was a labor of love for you, I'm sure. I am so inspired by it, that I am going to make a Spotify playlist based on it. I was born 1970. My best years were between 1980 till I would say 2005, music wise I remember my life until 2010 and then I got stuck. The last 10 years has passed without remembering any of the modern songs. So my best years lasted just 35 minutes which feels true to size 😂. It was the time we used to go out to dance! No cell, no computer, no internet. Boys and girls used to play outside and teens would have a very nice life. Love was in the air!!!!!!! It's unbelievable how those music had influences in our personalities and the girls were so beautiful! There was a REAL thing we were attached to when listen each of those musics! I loved listening to that entire decade, bar none. It was so great. Yeah there were some songs I didn't recognize but I had a great feeling! 1990s was when I became a teen, so I knew every single song! That was a great journey! 2000's I made it through to 2006 and just had to shut it off. Maybe these songs were overplayed because there simply wasn't an abundance of good music in this and the decade after it? I remember every single one of these songs. And every single song on here from the early 80s was the first song I had heard from those artists. Later, I would go back and discover the Queen, Bowie, The Police, Genesis, The Stones, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, etc., from the 60s and 70s. The first song in the video I don't recognize is in September 1997, because by then I was in training to become a DJ at my college radio station, and gained access to a trove of music, and I took a trip through the 60s, and then the 70s. Also, that song in September 1997 was a Michael Jackson song, and I think he started to go off the rails by then, he had already achieved his magnus opus. I probably never gave it much of a listen. A very influential time for me, obviously. Thank you for a trip through my musical influences. That is an amazing gift you've given me. It's really only since about 2013 or 2014 that the songs became complete duds and I couldn't find a single one that really gripped me (except Kate Bush, but she kind of snuck in through a dimensional rift so I'm not sure that counts). 2 Reply @miha8740 @miha8740 2 weeks ago The 90's❤️✌️🥹 Reply @profesormord1503 @profesormord1503 1 year ago 9:43 I wasn't expecting to be RickRolled in this video.... 25 Reply 1 reply @user-mu6os1if8m @user-mu6os1if8m 2 weeks ago Greatest decade as far as music goes lived it loved it Reply @everpolo5113 @everpolo5113 2 weeks ago Damn! With that said, this video must have been an incredible amount of work and it's very well done for the most part. However, it is off by a few months here and there, due to the methodology used, but it's pretty spot-on for the most part. It's no surpise to see a lot of Madonna, Michael Jackson. and Prince, but it was a little surprising not to see Whitney Houston. Also there should be far more hard rock on here. I know that’s a bunch of eras lol but in general most have to remember that your ranking is just your own, and it’s cool to see everyone’s perspective on it!!!
