The eating window begins when the person consumes their first bite or drink of caloric food or drink. Although some evidence suggests that consumption of black coffee might be permissible (and even beneficial) during fasting, consumption of amino acids will likely negate any of the beneficial effects associated with the practice. I could not lose the weight. Also those 6 months, I did not learn about insulin resistant and Ketosis diet. My diet consist of carb such as rice, noodles, shakes etc… for my one hour meal window. My weight did not drop but remain the same or increase. Until I did more research on coffee, I stop consuming black coffee to see if my body would change and it did. I finally was able to see my weight drop. Then I implemented Keto diet and prolong fasting. I couldn’t believe it, my body lost 19 pound in 13 days of prolong fasting. In conclusion, coffee does not work for me, it might work for you. 12 Reply 1 reply @kindnutritionist2672 @kindnutritionist2672 4 years ago Could listen to Rhonda all day long as she is talking about my favourite subject, nutrition and human health. Before, I couldn't drink any alcohol, nor eat any sweet desserts, because my hands would begin to itch. I knew then that I had a liver issue. Once I started doing this routine, with water in my espresso to help with the bitter taste, black and unsweetened of course, I no longer itch like crazy when I drink a glass of wine, plus I lost a lot of stubborn weight. I also sometimes have a latte with or without a little honey, or I eat a date while drinking it, and some almond milk when I break my fast, as my allotted sweet for the day. I buy a good quality coffee, and we use a good espresso machine. I think quality is imperative! So to me, coffee is working great, and it doesn't spike my insulin! That's the important thing, not to spike the insulin. That's the whole reason for not eating in the first place. Dr. Eric Berg has a list of things one can, or cannot drink during intermittent fasting. Remember, as long as we are drinking one or two cups only per day, if it doesn't spike our insulin, and it's natural, we're game! Salud! Cheers! Proost! No sugar. 14 Reply @susanhopemason @susanhopemason 1 year ago I am changing from the way I used to like my coffee. I used to like lots of cream or milk or half and half...with no sugar or sweetener. My first preference was heavy cream, my second preference was half and half, and my third preference was milk. But, I used milk the most often, because it was the most affordable. But about 2 to 4 months ago, I stopped buying milk because it finally dawned on me that drinking so much milk...mostly in my coffee, was the reason I was unable to lose weight even though I had already given up bread, pasta, potatoes, sugar, cereals and grains...and so on. I bought some dehydrated heavy cream powder to put in my coffee, and occasional other uses, and that didn't interfere with losing weight. But, then I ran our and I'm not going to be able to replace it for at least another month. So, after I ran out of cream powder, I started drinking it black with a little allulose in it...two scoops for the whole pot. I am getting used to the black coffee, and starting to actually like it that way. 1 Reply @tonytwotone9536 @tonytwotone9536 3 years ago Black like my soul 4 Reply @VAHelix @VAHelix 2 years ago Love a cup of strong black coffee! 1 Reply @damesaphira9790 @damesaphira9790 2 years ago I like heavy whipping cream, small pat of salted butter and stevia in my coffee. 1 Reply @mary-anndyott794 @mary-anndyott794 3 years ago While I'm fasting, I have black coffee. I just very recently started drinking black coffee in the morning and it absolutely helps key some of the hunger at bay til I eat in the afternoon. Not completely but it does help. 4 Reply @ivanr9408 @ivanr9408 1 year ago Tbh i started drinking black coffee and i serious like it much better now than americano's with steamed milk. I find I am happy with one Keto conscious meal at around six pm and I have no cravings to snack. The biggest benefit for myself has been that I have not had a single headache or migraine since I started - about 2 weeks ago - this has been literally life changing for me as I generally suffered headaches daily and migraines weekly - I am interested whether this is connected to the origins of Keto and fasting among epilepsy patients? - I have of course lost weight but I wasn’t particularly overweight to begin with. I just feel great now. Thank you Dan thanks Keto and thanks intermittent fasting 😃👌 21 Reply 1 reply @rubenproost2552 @rubenproost2552 3 years ago (edited) I like hand poured semi-decaffeinated drip coffee with 1 tablespoon of heavy cream and a pinch of cayenne pepper. 3 Reply 1 reply @lawcc1213 @lawcc1213 3 years ago 20 ounces coffee with 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream. 37 Reply 2 replies @23truro @23truro 2 years ago The best site on these topics on the internet in my opinion Reply @KerbearMcCabe @KerbearMcCabe 3 years ago (edited) I like my coffee like I like my metal music. It raises cortisol levels..which spike insulin.. if you must have coffee..wait a good 3-4 days into a strictly water fast. The spikes if any will be so low, it won’t leave you in a catabolic state ( muscle eating). 1 Reply @suziestokes9400 @suziestokes9400 3 years ago Black with 1/4 teaspoon of stevia when fasting or a cappuccino made with coconut milk When not fasting, Yum! 1 Reply @marktrent991 @marktrent991 3 years ago Black 1 Reply @robbutler1947 @robbutler1947 2 years ago I use sugar-free non-dairy creamer...flavored as either hazelnut or French vanilla. I was never going to give up my morning coffee regardless, all I did was switch to black espresso, took me a day to get used to it 😎 2 Reply @Jleigh225 @Jleigh225 3 years ago I use heavy cream or unsweetened almond/coconut milk creamers in my coffee. I’ve done the blood sugar test and cream, butter, and unsweetened nut or coconut milks won’t raise my blood sugar. However, unsweetened oat milk “broke” my fast as well as half and half. So if you have a blood sugar monitor you can test if something in your coffee breaks your fast if your blood sugar rises even 30 mins to an hour after. Your blood sugar should lower and ketones go up while fasting. 1 Reply @bobcocampo @bobcocampo 3 years ago I add cinnamon with my coffee and salt 1 Reply ly
