Thomas Seyfried, Ph.D., is a biochemical geneticist, professor of biology at Boston College, and author of the groundbreaking book Cancer as a Metabolic Disease. As part of a lecture delivered on July 31, 2018, at the annual CrossFit Health Conference, Seyfried presented a report card on our current approaches to treating cancer in the United States. Looking at data from the American Cancer Society on cancer incidence and deaths per day between 2013 and 2017, he noted death rates are actually on the rise. “The more money we raise for cancer, the more cancer we get …

I just read you book. The problem is, the current system is making tons of money. It became a money machine! So, who wants to "treat" cancer? Everybody! Who wants to SOLVE and CURE cancer? A few, because this kind of treatment does not make money!! Sometimes I am ashamed for being human!

The dogma of pink ribbons, surgery, chemo and genetic research paradigms is a powerful totem pole for millions of people (professionals and patients). Tom Seyfried represents a new paradigm for contemporary healthcare professionals - is this disease inevitable and genetic or......can we take responsibility for our own health, nutrition and fitness? We don't wait for a dentist every morning coming to brush our teeth! Similarly every single person who is currently fit and well has a responsibility to become well-informed about their future self. There is no law that mandates regular muffin & soda consumption every 3 hours...this a marketing ploy started by cereal manufacturers. The idea that "best" care in many parts of the world mandates radiation and chemotherapy is a paradigm that may finally have met it's match. Restricting types of food intake, fasting, hyperbaric chambers, root-cause analysis of cancer - this lecture has started my chase down the rabbit hole for all of my patients I see from today onwards. Thanks CrossFit and thanks Dr Seyfried!

I actually did ask a telephone charity person if the research, he was collecting for, included Low Carb/ketogenic diet. Unsurprisingly, the answer was no. I asked him to call back when it was.

I was poisoned and radiated and knew it was wrong, but I was told that if I had the tumor surgically removed I had to have radiation. She said that was the rule. I knew it was wrong. I was fine after the surgery and could have recovered. But radiation knocked me flat for at least five years.

Hi Dr. Seyfried, I am so glad I have found you. I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer Dec 2021. Unfortunately I have nearly finished chemotherapy. It has been 7 months since my diagnosis. I have been on a ketogenic diet and have been doing intermittent fasting for a month. I am physically very well and very strong. I am really keen to go a step further and begin longer fasts. I have put my work on hold to do this properly. I have ordered your book, so that I can be informed even further of the Metabolic approach to treating cancer. The main stream doctors are trying to persuade me to begin radiotherapy in the next couple of weeks, but I don't want to after listening to you on YouTube. I would like to do the long fasts properly and I would like to block Glutamine uptake with one of the drugs you have mentioned. I am interested in finding a medical practitioner that will be able to help me get one of the drugs, help me with the dosage etc. Do you know of any medical practitioners that are willing to help?

Fantastic session. Makes sense the added glutamine inhibitors . This works good for patients that lost a lot of weight and cannot be put for 15-40 days of water fasting to shrink the tumors. Basically, water fasting will do the same getting glucose and glutamine levels to very low, starving the cancer, but, again, patient has to have some weight to lose for that and another thing.. extreme long water fasting is not easy manageable by every patient...

It's crucial to approach this topic with caution and consider the individual nature of cancer treatment. The keto diet should never be seen as a standalone therapy, but rather as a potential adjunct to conventional treatments under the guidance of healthcare professionals. I appreciate this video for shedding light on an emerging area of research and providing a balanced perspective.

Thank you for such a good information. I only ask myself what about SOD2 mutations (RS4880). They have very high oxidative stress , and mitochondrial disfunction. They have immuun disfunction and often diabetes. So I think it is genetic. They have high ROS production.
But maybe ketogenic diet can help them even more?
Do you also eat KETO you’re self? 😊

There is a mistake on one of your slides at 7:37. It should say "Ketones are substances produced in the liver during ketogenesis, a process that produces ketones from fats when glucose is not available as a fuel (not necessarily during times of fasting or starvation)".

Dr Juneja, my daughter has went from having APS with Lupus, to Catastrophic Antiphospholipid Syndrome w/ Lupus, needless to say, we’re very sadden by this news. Since it involves the blood and extremely rare do you recommend we go to a hospital/clinic that specializes more in this. She has a hematopathologist but we live in a smaller populated area, and since this is so rare…what do you recommend? We want to get her the best treatment we possibly can!

I am sure sure that pre agricultural people had a hard time getting enough food. Sharon Bidon in a book on work points out hunter gatherers only really worked 20 hours a week or less. Makes sense. the forest is like a fridge you take food out of instead of having to prepare the ground, sew the seeds, grow it, protect it, harvest and store it. Farming is a lot more work and the food less diverse. The diet is worse, but the quantity of food is a lot higher even as its diversity is lower.

Very interesting. But I have a question:
Even on a zero carb, high fat diet, we have circulating glucose produced via gluconeogenesis in the liver and kidneys.
Since we cannot zero our plasma glucose, how is it that these cancer cells are deprived of their needed fuel?
Thanks

22:55 "Somatic mutations", e.g. soma = chromosomes, the Prof is advocating for mitochondrial damage rather than nuclear damage, which is why cancer treatments are useless and damaging, which also explains why cancer cells start fermenting, the mitochondria are not producing energy in the form of ATP and the mitochondria control apoptosis so the cells don't die.

What about an adenomatous tubular flat polyp one in both ascending and descending colon?
Back in 2013 I was low fat high fiber little meat. Then as yrs progressed I couldn’t move drs all dx with PsA, RA and osteo! Was put on biologics with horrible side effects
I stopped and started carnivore in may of 2021 and able to move but after colonoscopy found these flat polyps benign they want to do surgery!
I am waiting, continuing with what I would call ketovore more carnivore however, I will throw in some cruciferous veg at times! I do try to stay away from sugar, but occasionally I might have a bite of some dark chocolate. That seems enough to quench my sweet tooth . I also used to drink beer but I have not had any alcohol in about nine months.😊

a keto diet has a lot of food with glutamine - like meats - eggs - etc. and on Keto - it says eggs and meats are ok - so know do I cut out all the foods with glutamine because that list is with the keto diet - and at this point - there is nothing lefty to eat. I'm already doing keto and following metabolic approach. So now I'm CONFUSED... and worried. I've cut out all sugar and glutan - but now the list of foods with glutamine is huge and all within the keto diet.... this is confusing me now.

I've been on the keto diet for 40 days. Apparently already in ketosis. But my blood glucose levels are 5.5 mmol/l (100 mg/dl) in average values and change little from meals. My body fat percentage was around 20%, now 15%. I train every other day (bodybuilding) and also do physically active work, and I need more protein. This glucose is produced by the liver from protein and glycerol and now remains unclaimed? Can it feed cancer cells? Apparently it is impossible to lower the glucose level any further. In addition, many people note an increase in blood glucose on a keto diet.

Exogenous ketones are not really effective if the body is not adapted in burning fat in the first place. There are studies about that. It is well known that when someone starts a ketogenic diet most of the ketones are flushed in the urine because the body is not adapted yet. Furthermore I read a study in the past where it was proven that the ketones where not being used by the brain unless there has been prior a steady low level of glucose for a few days. Sorry, no reference. But I am certain this can be found easily in medical/journal databases...

Im currently fighting a rare terminal sarcoma. I've been mainly keto, then carnivore. But I was advised to stop carnivore as it feeds the cancer with glutamine. So now I'm mainly veg and veg juicing, but my digestion is getting destroyed. I'm constantly rushing to the toilet. I know it's not die off. I had it before trying to go vegan and my body never adjusted. My stomach and bowels grumble really loud. I get wind and diarrhea all day, a few hours after each meal or juice. My question is: are these veg juices fermenting in my digestive system? And does that feed the cancer more than a carnivore or keto diet? Cheers.

It all sounds great and is probably true in many instances.
Lynch Syndrome is an inherited disease that puts the person at a much higher risk of certain cancers.
Basically, your body does not “tell” cancer cells to stop replicating.
I think it is disingenuous to suggest that all cancers can be stopped by this method.

The keto diet is the same diet as Atkins diet and before Atkins was Stillman. Atkins diet was not invented for a patient to stay completely off Carbs! It had different levels You could stay on level one, to lose as much as you want, level 2_was more liveable as it had more veggiies. But the main objective was to add some carbs , peee on the keto sticks and keep them purple and find your level of carb intake and still lose weight ! When the keto sticks no longer stayed purple you had gone too far with , fruit or bread or potatios, etc. You had to cut back some till your sticks were purple! The body needs some carbs.

Thank you for these very informative videos.
Dr. Seyfried talks about how hard it is to get cancer, he’s says that it takes a fair bit of time before all the pieces that eventually result in the development of cancer fall in to place. So, how does this theory apply to infants and young children getting cancer? Or children diagnosed with cancer shortly after birth? Are there genetics involved here, or are they born with damaged mitochondria? Is there a theory understood here? Thank you

I looked this up, and do not take credit for the information expect to pass it along. "The panda is quite unlike most other herbivores, however, whose digestive tracts contain bacteria and protozoans that break down hard-to-digest plant materials through fermentation."

What about studies clearly implicating high meat diets in very high rates of cancer and coronary heart disease? So the “load up on meat” message is not responsible. The longest lived people on the planet eat Whole Foods with carbohydrates.

Carnivore diet cured so much for me!
* No more perimenopause- completely reversed!
*Period cycles all timed perfect with 4 week intervals. And no PMS symptoms, but only the actual menstrual cycle itself!
*No more night sweats
*No more waking every 2 hours at night!
*It used to take me 20 minutes or longer to fall asleep at night when I would first go to bed at night- before carnivore. Now it takes like a minute or less. Haven’t noticed since I am out fast!
*No more life long eczema
*No more cold hands
*No more cold body temp in general! Used to feel like a reptile - only warm in texas sun.
*No more IBS symptoms (gas, bloating, stomach pain, constipation, diarrhea)
*No more feeling low energy by 12pm and zombie by 4pm
*No more purple looking hands in winter
*No more brain fog
*No more arthritis that I felt in hands, knees, and hips- or elbows
*used to have sore hips when sleeping on my side. No more!
*Lost 45+ pounds from former baby weight and peri menopause weight.
*Always had 20/20 vision with slight stigmatism- but in March doctor said my stigmatism is reversing!
*Don’t sunburn as easily anymore and tan well.
*Wrinkles around eyes seem to be much less. I am 46 and look like I am in early 30’s.
*Gums look super healthy. Dentist seems irritated as my teeth are not dirty when cleaning every six months. Think they know they won’t make money off me.
*No more sore chest from monthly periods- no swelling feeling of fullness or discomfort that prevented me from sleeping on my stomach. Now I sleep every night on my stomach!
*Fibrocystic Breast issues reversing! Almost all gone after 6 years of buildup!
*no cravings unless they are for meat
*no more angina symptoms before a period- which started about 3 years ago.
*No more feeling weak like almost passing out and dizzy around ovulation and periods
* no more fingers swelling- that started a few years ago- rings kept being tight- is pattern I noticed. One ring I had resized larger and it’s super loose now. Will have to resize smaller.
*feel stronger- now lifting barbells not just hands weights. Dr. Baker said since I am 46, and 5’7” at 122lbs- need more resistance training to add more muscle weight. . So bought a 47lb barbell off Amazon and have 40 extra pounds added to it. Will continue to progress with that.
* i had started growing grey hairs in one of my eyebrows, few hairs at a time, but no grey in my blonde hair yet - but assumed it was coming before Carnivore. Now on carnivore I have had no new grey hairs growing in eye brows and still no grey hair in my natural blonde hair. And in the sun it gets super light highlights.
* no more body odor!
* I used to get a little anxiety with large crowds- like if attending special events- but since on carnivore I don’t get it that much.
*I was a bit OCD before carnivore, but so much more relaxed so barely like that.
* I was a relaxed person before, but somehow am even more relaxed and never stress about things.
*Since I was a young child my sense of smell has been terrible. But not even a month in on carnivore my sense of smell has gone crazy! I smell things even far away! Amazing!
*no more allergies! I was allergic to cedar and oak pollens- and mold- but since carnivore I am no longer reacting to those outdoor pollens which is amazing!
* I have had no more issues from ear wax build up. Had it twice after having kids and docs would say it was a hormonal problem. Carnivore cured that too!
If I think of anything else will add. ☺️👍🏻
I know when people go on carnivore they are trying to heal something, but if they aren’t like me and notice small things- they may not notice they are healing way more than they realized- things plant foods were causing! And they need to remember, processed foods are made from plants- but so are whole foods (raw or cooked!) they are all toxic!
The carnivore diet cures! ☺️👌🏻 The body is a network made of multiple gears- and if one gets messed up it causes a whole domino affect of problems like I had! The carnivore lifestyle is not a fad, it’s the ancestral human way of eating! Go Carnivore for a few months and see how you feel! ☺️👍🏻

I appreciate this video, However, how in the world can I find a Dr. that would give me the necessary guidance and medications to implement this course of action? I am 55, and I have stage 4 appendiceal cancer which is in the periteneum. Over the last year I've had 12 rounds of chemo, a Hipec surgery and am currently on an oral chemo. I feel like all of my health care team is just there to extend the number of days that I may have left.....not try to find a cure. (If there is one.)

Keep in mind, obesity is a risk factor, not a cause or disease. And the obese live longer. Thin and normal weight people are a much greater burden on the health-care system. So don't assume you're healthy just because you're fit and athletic.
No one wants to be fat, but if you don't know the benefits of saturated fat, meat, salt water, and fasting, whatever you do, don't go on a diet. Because dieting is almost certainly the primary cause of obesity.
Processing alone can make almost any food worse aside from the vegetable oil and carcinogenic additives. And you can't outrun a bad diet, doc. 30:18
This didn't just happen to us. People are not that stupid. It didn't take us long to figure out grapes made us fat. It was greed. Follow the money as they say. We were lied to by snakeoil salesmen. 31:42 But yet, in these trying times, we still trust them and buy their snake oil.

2 things I completely disagree with. 1: That it is "hard" to get cancer. Many people that take really good care of themselves get Cancer all the time!! Also, what about Viruses like HPV that cause cervical and penile cancer? Those viruses don't care if you are in ketosis or not!

Everything that I'm hearing here sounds very logical, but where does childhood cancer fit into this equation. The "long-term self-abuse of the body" factor isn't there. So I'm assuming that the types of cancers that we see in very small children are not the same types of cancer being discussed here. What exactly are the differences?

It’s illegal to treat your child naturally if they’re diagnosed with cancer in America. We need real medical freedom. There’s so many options for treatment and we should have the choice on how we want to heal, and parents should have the right to choose what’s best for their child, not the government.

Please show us any study that proves these theories. This doctor’s theory sounds great, but it’s actually pretty simplistic and is just one guy’s theory lacking substantial evidence. It’s also a shame that people will believe anything when it’s presented as anti-establishment—which in actual effect means anti-preponderance of evidence.

My brother is a cancer surgeon and suggested the keto diet to me after I got cancer. I did it for three months post surgery, lost 22 lbs and felt great before starting chemo. The drugs affected my nervous system causing a nausea reaction to the smell of raw meats. It does work but watch what type of keto you do. Poultry and fish are better, alot of processed red meat will cause your cholesterol levels to raise dramatically. I'm three most post chemo and gained all the weight back and on a good diet. No soda, sugar, nothing in a bag or box. Alot of leafy greens, beans, Poultry. I'm not sure what's causing the wait gain. I do know while under chemo I had large amounts of steroids injected during treatment to handle the poison

I respectfully disagree with the advise above . He is right that cancer dies in a oxygen rich environment. However when you consume a lot of meat 🥩 and fat to maintain ketosis your blood oxygen will fall . There will be lots of fat floating in your blood stream choking out the oxygen . Cancer will grow in this environment. Also your body will become acidic as high fat food produce a lot of acids lowering the Ph of your tissues. Cancer dies in alkaline environment . Fruits and vegetables produce alkaline environment in our body killing
cancer . Look into the work of Dr
Gerson from Germany . He cured
countless cancers with juicing fruits
🍉 and vegetables. Many glasses of
Juice a day .
I would add to that a lot of Vitamin C and zinc and healthy carbs like potato and sweet potatoes and beans for energy. I would stay away from acid producing foods like dairy eggs , gluten , corn , processed foods , oils .

You have a way better chance of healing way faster going on on all raw fruit and salad and juice with medicinal herbs. Keto is a way to lose weight, but it is not a healing diet.... A healing diet is a return to the intended physiological diet of our species. Which is that of a frugivore. Healing is all about hydration and detoxification and a keto Diet does neither at the same successful rate. fruit and herbs will.

Not just cancer every chronic diseases in our body emerges out because of mitochondrial dysfunction
Mitochondrial dysfunction causes chronic inflammation by stimulating NFKB which is triggered by ROS and the ROS are continuously produced due to damage of structural conformation of inner mitochondrial membrane
Mitochondrial dysfunction in WAT (white apidose tissue) causes the adipose dysfunction looses its insulin sensitivity and turns hypertrophic and also become inflamed this leads to obesity and insulin resistance of adipose the first step which lead to ooze out the Free fatty acids (FFA) into blood stream which go and accumulate in vital organs like muscles, liver and pancreas
Accumulation of FFA in muscles leads to muscle insulin resistance that causes type 2 diabetes because 80% of blood glucose is utilised and stored by muscle tissue if muscle tissue becomes IR then it leads Type 2 diabetes
molecularpathology involves that these accumulated FFA in muscle metabolise and forms ceramides these molecules sits in ATK/PKB the enzyme that activates the release of GluT (glucose transporters) on the cells which influx the blood glucose
As these ceramides sit in PKB and GluT releasing is inhibited so the glucose levels pile up in blood this condition is called hyperglycaemia the key features of type 2 diabetes
The insulin signalling pathway is hindered
Because this hyperglycaemia the insulin also gets spiked up to push the excess glucose into cells
High insulin in blood is referred as hyperinsulinemia
Both hyperglycaemia and hyperinsulinemia both are pathologic in nature
Hyperglycaemia glycates the other components of the body and causes various types of issues
Glycation of glycocalyx and LDL causes the atherosclerosis,
Glycation adversely affect other organs like eyes , kidneys, brain leads ratinopathy, nephropathy and neuropathy respectively
Hyperglycaemia feeds cancer cells because of its rich glucose levels
Hyperinsulinemia causes hypertension, PCOS, dyslipidemea,
And also helps the cancer cells as growth factor
If FFA gets accumulated in liver it leads to fatty liver disease
If FFA gets accumulated in pancreas it leads to inflammation and declines the beta cells thus reduces the insulin production
If we look at the cancer patients he/she is definitely associated with Insulin resistance and prediabetes
Mitochondrial dysfunction causes obesity, insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, chronic Oxidative stress, neurodegenerative disorders, musclardegenerative disorders, autoimmune disorders,
Insulin resistance causes type 2 diabetes, hypertension, PCOS atherosclerosis in heart and brain
and aids cancer progression

Many tumors can adapt to survive on ketones. Also, if you eliminate all glucose the body up-regulates gluconeogenesis. If you starve the tumor is gets aggressive and starts catabolising the muscles into sugar. This idea is oversimplified and does not work in practice.

We know that cancer "arises from cancer stem cells". Cancer stem cells behave "almost" like normal stem cells. We know that cancer stem cells proliferate in an oxygen-poor environment, and therefore use glucose + glucosamine to grow. We also know that the mitochondria of stem cells and cancer stem cells do not use mitochondria to produce energy, but fermentation; when a part of the stem cells migrates out of their niche, they meet the oxygen and begin to breathe (OXPHOS) and to differentiate into a specialized cell. The cancer stem cell, however, when it migrates out of the niche, begins to differentiate, and their dysfunctional mitochondria begin to produce free radicals; therefore, around the niche of cancer stem cells "partially differentiated pathological cells are formed", which have free radicals that produce oxidative stress and cell damage, forming an inflamed and necrotic tissue; this inflamed and necrotic tissue sends continuous signals to cancer stem cells to proliferate and consume glucose and glutamine. Perhaps to interrupt this process, one should ensure that differentiated tumor cells breathing with dysfunctional mitochondria do not constantly stimulate cancer stem cells, and this could perhaps be done by using antioxidants and taking care of the quality of the matrix extracellular (perhaps also with alkalizing agents). Furthermore, the ketogenic diet associated with inhibitors of the glutamine transporter (6-diazo-5-oxo-l-norleucine) could prevent cancer stem cells from proliferating and entering quiescence.

I feel the interviewer ould be explaining the terminology to us laymen but he just delves in to the esoteric terminology. Its a proffesional and expert chat between two very clever experts but im afraid i didnt understand most of it😢

What if bladder cancer blocked one of the kidneys? How do you save one kidney that is only working at 7.5 (with a nephrostomy tube - where the urine coming from it is very alkaline and where a non-acidic plant-based diet keeps it at 7.5% (NM Flow study verified) and the other kidney is at 97.5% ( but really overacheiving in actuality); where the blood creatinine level is actually staying betwen 1.2 and 1.4; and where chemo (or chemo and radiation or a clinical study with other types of potential cancer stopping products) has not been started 3 months post diagnoses? (Long sad story there!)
A high protein diet is not possible and still give the buffer needed to have good kidney function remaining in the good kidney after chemo, right?

So why are there so many people trying to debunk keto???It's so hard to have anything to believe in because one person says it's good another says it's bad. Like cancer industry most say that better do chemo and radiation or else you'll die etc.
And then there's this with cancer being metabolic. My God if it's so easy then how come it's not open as a therapy???? What's the loss????I'm sure people study cancer and even become Dr's of cancer because they knew someone they loved who was effected with it. So why would the medical industry deny discoveries like this??? It's all so discouraging and it hurts because we who are suffering with it live with this fear and all we want is compassion not finger pointing and procedures making us feel like we are just a number instead of a human being who loves life and who want to live happily!!!😢🤷

Please explain if cancer comes from long term abuse of the body as stated in this video by Dr. Seyfriend, why 100's of thousands, maybe even millions, of babies, toddlers and young children, who haven't abused their bodies have cancer in our day and age. Is that all genetically passed down? Why are all these children getting cancer?

So listening to this old man's story that he has made up from his imagination is an amazing experience! Thank you for talking to him! You can see he totally believes this nonsense, but really is just babbling silly words... just look at the old goat ... do you really think he knows anything about health? Lol!
We are primates and need raw fruit... that is our ideal diet, anything outside of that will cause some disease... this guy has his head buried in the disease and doesn't know the way to health... but he is a doctor and profits from disease, not health, so it is all he sees. Following his advice? ... Think thrice!

Brain cancer survivor here. Diagnosed terminal in 2017.
Doctors said I will only live to 60. They said I would need to start chemo and radiation.
After i was told this information I immediately left the medical system in the USA, fled my family and left America, went to India,
And began living a life free from medicine.
I am now living a life on a strict healthy diet of high fiber and meat (Keto) and exercise and I feel amazing.
I've added B1, B6 vitamins to assist with a boost of needed energy as I believe to be B vitamin deficient.
I water fast frequently doing about 5 days a month. I will soon do a 14 day water fast.
I do not have cancer, and I am thriving.
May God bless everyone who reads this.
Jesus is KING❤

This is the 4th or so video we've watched featuring Prof. Seyfried, and my 12yr old son with Hodgkin's Lymphoma is asking me if we can pack hard boiled eggs and beef jerky for snacks during next week's chemo infusion...we're embracing the keto/carnivore ideas and hoping it helps his journey. Thanks for a great video!

Yep, at chemo they come around with cookies, soda, and sandwiches on white rolls with potato chips. They have coffee and tea with coffee mate creamer. All of the nurses love that I bring my own food at least one nurse came and sat with me for about a half hour asking me all kinds of questions because she wanted to learn about Keto/Carnivore.
I have Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer and opted to hit it with chemo AND diet. I want it gone out of my body for good, and I strongly feel that the carnivore diet has tremendously helped to mitigate side effects from chemo. My oncologists are supportive, but they really know nothing about metabolic approaches. I’ve really needed to do my own research.

Cancer is a big business. Death is also a big business.
The cure is cheap but requires a complete overhaul of the medical paradigm in a doctor's thinking process.
Thank you Dr.Seyfried for bringing about a very needed revolution in the health/medical industry.

I have a friend that was diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma (no -small cells) 8 months ago. He was diagnosed as stage IVB with distant metastatic disease in liver, intestine, bones… So, he is doing Keto/Carnivore with several herbal remedies like; garlic, brocolli sprouts, green tea, some Japanese mushrooms, IF….. the cancer symptoms has downgraded in less than a month-month and a half! So, this idea about methabolic therapy is VERY valid! It works!!!

Since the medical community won't allow a ketogenic diet BEFORE radiation and/or chemo, the answer is to be on a ketogenic diet BEFORE you are diagnosed with cancer. I wish I'd known this before I was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma. A good, whole-food ketogenic diet allows the body to naturally repair MANY conditions: diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, arthritis, depression and anxiety, etc. Unfortunately, the medical community knows this, too, and they actively discourage healthy diets.

So happy to see this getting out. Dx’d stage 4 metastatic melanoma in March 2023. Was already following a carnivore diet at the time and asked my Dr. for a CAC scan to quell his cholesterol CVD concerns. CAC was fine but the radiologist noted a possible “lytic lesion” on my vertebrae. Four months and many scans and an eventual biopsy revealed the reality. No other lesions were found and I firmly believe that my diet was in the process of shrinking the tumor but I couldn’t not seek treatment. I tightened up my eating to push for therapeutic ketosis and implemented fasting around my immunotherapy infusions. six months later and I am now officially NED!

This breaks my heart as I lost my wife recently to this BS disease. My research had this therapy as well as many others that we both knew could win this battle, however she chose to talk it over with her oncologist and the bastard said its a rareity to get better with anything other than conventional treatment. She would not listen to me.
Anyone with this disease MUST be involved with the research so as to get that ‘wow’ moment when the penny finally drops.
Disgusting people out there. ❤

I have been dealing with cancer since the end of 2018. By the time I was diagnosed it was stage 4b fallopian tube cancer which spread throughout my abdomen and pelvis. I went through the surgery, the front line chemo and maintenance. I stayed what they called cancer-free for one year. 2022 I was diagnosed with peritoneal carcinomatosis stage 4B. I did 6 months of what they called sevond line chemo. Scans showed no charge. Now I am on Avastin every 3 weeks. This will go on until I die, tumor progression or unacceptable toxicity. I decided to do fenbendazole and numerous supplements. I have also started keto. My latest scan shows the peritoneal carcinomatosis unchanged but random tumors are gone. Something I am doing is paying off. I also take berberine to block glutamine.

I am a physician, doing Bioresonance. I had 1B ovarian cancer removed 2016, with 3 chemo treatments and have been cancer free since but studying Seyfried’s work & keto with high dose melatonin & feel I am in my 40’s although I am mid 70’s. We are toxic with glutamic acid. I see it in everyone and I think that’s feeding the cancers. There are 70 codeword for glutamic acid, because no one will buy a product if the label states it has MSG. All packaged foods, salad dressings, sodas, all of it has glutamic acid as a chemical toxicity. FDA & CDC no longer follows the rules. 10 years ago, the insurance industry told me I was forbidden to help people get well my ability to help people on insurance. When are we going to go after the corporations that are making us sick for their profit?

I am not sure how many people caught Professor Seyfried mentioned how much weaker cancer cells are compared to normal cells. It just made me think, we do so many things to make ourselves comfortable, air conditioning, heating at home at work. I’m wondering if not taxing the body the way it was taxed in the past makes it easier to suffer from these chronic metabolic illnesses. Example, as a child we only had fans in summer time, the humid summer days in NYC were trying (to put it mildly)

After the 3rd treatmernt I had no more cancer.... BUT... Along came lots of problems, autoimmune disorder, liver, thyroid, cortisol, testosterone etc. all went down, swollen pituitary gland and also constant tinnitus.. all from the 14th July 2023.. Now I am a lot better thanks.. I think you need to read/watch or talk to others who are or have been through what you have as these are the only people that understand...

Excellent video Kerry. Wish I had known this 20 years ago when I had cancer and ended up with a mastectomy, and 15 years ago when my man died from cancer. Absurd that a doctor can lose his/her license for treating a patient with metabolic therapy and fasting. Grrrr - having an effective cancer drug (Dawn) that is not patentable so not available - immorality for sure. How to work with glutamine? Dr Seyfried 45:00. Pulsing it so both kill cancer cells and then recovery, etc. Fasting for 14-30 days to lower glutamine. Metabolic Therapy is a diet drug combo. Interesting that Istanbul, Turkey has a treatment center with metabolically supported chemotherapy. High fever is good! No one will fund a clinical trial on fasting. The industry resists anything like diet that is not pharmaceutical. Radiation should Never be done on the brain per Dr Seyfried. Blessing and healing to all of you.

My brother has throat cancer and is getting treatments at Mass General. I was disappointed to see his handouts from his nutritionist. “Use healthy fats when cooking - olive, canola and flax oil”, “canola oil Mayo”. They really push to “cram” in as much high calorie food sources as possible regardless of quality. I realize that the daily radiation and weekly chemo will make swallow areas challenging thus being a barrier to any nutrition but man these food suggestions are very high calorie low quality.
Wow Kerry - I found you a couple weeks ago and you’ve opened up a world of information. I can’t thank you enough. You and all the contributors who take time to get the word out.
My husband and I have been carnivore for about a month and are making progress. I have unsuccessfully been doing keto for about 4 years but menopause got me in a stronghold. Carnivore was like “Keto, hold my beer” and FINALLY the pounds are coming off and I feel awesome!

Do your research and CONTINUE the research. Dr. Seyfried has several good videos on here. Anyone who wants can stop cancer with fasting. It also ends diabetes and complications of diabetes which include limb loss, vision loss and cardiovascular disease. I’ve only done a five day fast, but if I had the specter of cancer, I’d have been motivated to go longer.

Nov 9, 2023 - Oncologist at the best NYC cancer hospital called my friend & said they had to cancel her appt for yesterday because my friend’s insurance card was changed (she has same insurance but her member ID changed). Oncologist said she could not release my friend’s onco-score until insurance approves & processes everytg. WTF ?
So at the end of the day, they are all about the money too ? My friend is stressing about what treatments she needs and they are more concerned about processing her insurance. WTF?

I think it would be amazing to have a round table with Dr. Seyfried, Sean O’Mara, M.D., Ben Bikman, Ph.D., David Brownstein, M.D. and Stephanie Seneff, Ph.D. O’Mara covers visceral fat, Bikman covers metabolism, Seneff covers deuterium and glyphosate, and Brownstein covers Iodine. Super Heros to the rescue. Bam!!!

I heard in my anatomy and physiology class at a community college in the early 90's that cancer feeds off glucose and that's where the conversation ended because the next thought was there is no way to get sugar out of your diet and you can't survive zero glucose.
The big reason why dietary changes aren't prescribed is because there's not enough money in that recommendation.

Another thing that should be tried, would never be accepted in the USA but could be trialled personally and take glutamine readings. To get homeopathic Glutamine 30c as that would help the body to excrete some of it and keep the levels down by taking it three times daily. It would definitely be worth a try. Homeopathy is a great form of non toxic and very effective low dose medicine. Having Chelidonium Majus 30c twice daily would help the liver to be healthier along with Carduus Marianus 3c or similar 2 or 3 times daily. Try it people it will help your body to cope and survive. Also pure water warm enemas help by stimulating the portal vein to the liver which helps the body to eradicate toxins more effectively so keeps free radical and ROS down. They take a wee while to get used to but worth persisting because they're incredibly helpful done twice daily as a method of detoxification and lowering pain.

Talking about metabolic therapy. What is the protocol for metabolic therapy that has been used. Each person seems to have used something different (possibly due to their cancers). So sugar and glutamine needs to be cut/reduced, how do we get there. That can’t be the whole metabolic therapy.

I am from Fort Wayne Indiaana. Diagnosed with Stage 4 Supraglotis Throat Cancer. I start Radiation and Chemo on this comming monday. I know from speaking with the team that are working with me, while all seem like super good people. They are going to burn me up with Radiation and Chemo. I know this. After speaking with thier nutrishionist I know they have zero idea about a Keto Diet. They even told me I need to take in more sugars so I dont lose wieght. Do you know do if these people monitor my cancer as they are doing this, so if they can reduce the amounts if they see its going away? I Started a Keto Diet last April, before I was ever diagnosed. Lost 75 lbs Quit smoking and I feel so much better for having done that its incredible. I actually feel better then I have felt in 40 year, but I have throat cancer and I admit I'm scared to death. Oh 64 year old Male by the way

Most medical communities never look at the effects of the people or family much less what happens to the patient! We are looking at a machine of greed and control that seems to be built into the system. And how do these people know how long I really have to live? The protocol needs a big overhaul!

The problem is that we would love to see these approaches applied in our region ! However metabolic therapy is completely unknown to the majority of oncologists in north Africa ( french system) not talking about the regular people. It's scary since there's a huge rise in cancer after the 💉 hopefully dr Seyfried find away to promote it globally, especially on the Mediterranean region

I've watched Dr. Seyfried's videos and reached out to him for guidance on where to go for help when my brother was diagnosed with liver cancer two years ago here in Ontario, Canada. He offered a name, but it led nowhere, and in September he passed. The treatment may or may not have helped... but without a doctor able and willing to guide the treatment, it is of no avail.

Without offending anyone, because I think of everyone in the carnivore community as my friend and family, please do your research regarding the association between many of these aggressive cancers and the co> 💉💉💉
The uptick of cancer in younger people correlates to the 💉.
Said with much love. ❤
Thank you Kerry for ALL your efforts on behalf of humanity.

My friend had cancer the oncologist told him he had 26 tumors. He went on a plant based diet, started alkalizing, and fasting 25 of the tumors disappeared and one got much bigger so he had one round of chemo the tumor decreased in size rapidly. The first doctor he saw told him to go home and get his affairs in order because he wasn't going to make it

It would be very helpful if we can get the details of the clinic at Istanbul, Turkey of Dr Seyfried's colleague. Thank you. I am from India.

52:00 Hyperthermia yes a banned substance does this very well and causes to burn fat very quickly. This wonderful yet toxic substance is DNP or 2-4-Dinitrophenol . Dr. David Sinclair brought this up during a interview but may have stopped bringing it up because many people would abuse it and cause a runaway fever that would cook them to death. But, if used with supervision could be a very viable therapy.

You talk about " proper way", but if we are able to do the diet how can we find (DON) and use it correctly!? I am in Europe and have CLL. 3 years ago I heard about Budwig and Moerman and started their diets, really hard diets, but I started feeling really well and almost forgot about the problem. In the first 3 months eating only live food ( salads , nuts, and some berries) I waisted 17 kg but feeling good. After that I stopped to be so radical and started eating other foods and even drinking little alcohol some times. In the last months I forgot about the discipline and now experience the sweating at night, weakness, waisted 3-4 kg in the last 2-3 weeks. Now I am afraid that the diets will not help anymore and have to start therapy, which is my biggest fear!

Would like to understand the difference between glucose, as the main tumour cell food, versus hormones, such as estrogen, which is postulated to encourage the growth of cancer cells in breast cancer. Wish Dr Seyfried would comment on this as much of the conventional drug treatments wish to inhibit estrogen production, so would he think this is all wrong then?

lost my roommate/life partner/best friend a month ago. he got stage 1 lung cancer 6 months ago and went on keto and 21 days fasting few times and followed everything these guys say. told the doctor he wants to try this and unfortunately doctor agreed. used keto mojo twice a day and kept his GKI under 2 or 1 sometimes. It was hard. a month ago he had shortness of breath and did another PET scan and it was stage 4, after 9 days in hospital he died. didn't even get a chance to start therapy. I wish we started chemo or something at stage 1. 😢

Honestly, if doctors can't get Diabetes right, if the doctors are still against Keto or Carnivore, what chance is there for oncologists? If the ADA and AHA can't get diet right, if they insist that meat is dangerous and plant based is best, what are the odds that the cancer associations will get it right? These changes are frustrating, but they have to come from the ground up.

What about testosterone as fuel for prostate cancer? I have prostate cancer and am 250 days high fat carnivore. My PSA keeps going up and up. My Urologist says this is all nonsense and people like Prof. Seyfried should be put in jail! How come hormone therapy works on prostate cancer if testosterone is not fueling it? I get that carnivore will likely help me a lot when I eventually have to go through radiation or chemo, but it seems to me that's about the only benefit of the diet on prostate cancer. I here a lot of talk about keto and cancer, but so far I see no real evidence at all - just talk and people still need to do the big toxic therapies if they are to get better at all. Put you money where your mouth is please, Prof Seyfried and tell all of us with cancer how we are supposed to get this miraculous treatment that you talk about over and over but I cannot get it anywhere. It seems to me that the best I'm going to be able to do is doing high fat carnivore and some fasting. Otherwise there's no support at all for metabolic therapy.

Wonderful work! I AM 54 yr old stage 4 breast CA and spread to lungs. My oncologist gave me Chemo treatment for 5 months: Docetaxel, Carboplatin , - from july 11 to oct 8 ,2023 after the immunohistochemistry report :estrogen ,progesterone,HER2/neu ALL NEGATIVE.
Result is the cancer cell has grown small but not totally eradicated. At present i am adviced to wait for the result frm my extracted tissue block specimen taken last feb 2023. Where from these result they will know how to proceed with immunotherapy with another series of chemo.
I am now waiting for 30 days of that result . But i have started fasting and doong intermitent diet. Eating meat, veggies and fruits only as much as possible during 5 to 6 hrs eating window time.
I support your diet recommendation because the normal oncologist will tell you you can eat anything.

My doctor is giving me Decadron Iv before chemo. My blood sugar was 177 after fasting 12 hours for port install surgery. Crazy, threw me out of my 2 month optimal Ketosis state. Want to refuse Decadron (they said no) or get regular insulin sliding scale. What should i do?

Not got cancer, never had cancer, but I am a big fasting follower.
Follow an omad routine, weekends do a 72hr fast
Every 3 month do a 5 day fast.
Eat fish or meat with veg. No packaged junk food and walk eight miles six days a week.
At 75 Yr old I'm super fit with the body of a 40 Yr old.
This doc knows what he's talking about. Trust me, fasting and avoiding junk food is the key to long life.

Just sent this to my radiation doctor and this is what he said, below. How do you answer this?
survival of brain cancer without radiation is 1.5 months. survival with radiation is 10 months. both terrible. these guys saying that brain radiation shortens your life are idiots. In my entire 30 year career, I have never seen a brain cancer patient last more than 3 months without surgery or radiation, regardless of keto or carnivore or gluten free or whatever
