A quick look into the real meaning of life: why nothing really matters. Of course, we have a purpose to fulfill. What is it? That purpose is up to you. In the end, it doesn't even matter.

The end quote “in the end it doesn’t even matter” really helped to understand that doing all these things society asks us to do is pointless. That doesn’t mean I won’t stop going for my goals, heck now I want to achieve my goals even more. But it’s helped me realise to just enjoy the journey and create my own purpose. The destination for all of us is infinite nothingness, so why not enjoy life right now? I sure will be from now on, and remain grateful I got to be alive in this gift called life.

"The Smarter we get; the Smaller we became"
How true 👍
Learning about the universe and the many huge planets, we realise how small ours is and how tiny we are, as occupants.

My daughter got me thinking about this by saying nothing matters because we're all going to die. She was fifteen. I hated hearing her be so dark and negative but I can't deny how right she is. 😔

This reminds me of questions I once had about life and couldn't find any real answers for. The meaning of life sounds very complicated and existential but what I realised was, beyond the fact that nothing really matters, is that it's to live a fulfilling life. Whatever you find fulfilling in this world is what you should be doing. It's nothing to do with superficial materialistic victories or losses. Well, that's my view on it all anyway. Beyond that, there was some information in this video that just blew my mind, things like trillions of years being mentioned and how the narrator envisages the universe ending up. It's always been a fascination of mine, imagining the vastness of space and how infinite it seems. But to stretch out that far and thin only to fade away into a nothingness seems a bit final. Maybe I just can't imagine it. Who knows? I know I'll not be around to witness it unfortunately. Very good video!

I love this vid so much, knowing that we dont matter at all and we are just a blip in the history of the universe makes me feel so calm for some reason. The fact that we are a meaningless coincidence and that I can just do whatever the heck I want is awesome. I mean, when u know that nothing makes sense, everything starts to make sense.

I've played that same dialog in my mind many times over the decades. It's kept me centered, not always at each moment, but it's always there to come back to. What does matter for us as humans while we exist is suffering. As Kurt Vonnegut famously concluded in his message to babies arriving here, "Be kind."

This is so profoundly thought-provoking, it also helps to explain the meaning behind Linkin Park's song 'In the End' in my opinion; I feel like videos like this are helping me to understand the world and my place within it. Thank you so much! 💚

This is why Everything Everywhere All At Once was such a phenomenal movie. This video and that movie present the same message; literally nothing you do matters in the end, so do whatever the fuck you want. Since there's no meaning to anything, you pretty much have got to create your own meaning and live the only life you have with it in the best possible way.
Thanks a lot for this.

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my YouTube channel 2 months ago about self development. Now I have 164 subs and almost 80 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I couldn’t have learned without getting started in the 1st place.

I have two sayings about minor things that go wrong for me one is "In a hundred years will it really matter", and the second is "If that's the worse thing that happens to me today I'm doing pretty good". Its easy to think that at every turn things are going wrong for you and the Universe is unfair, but it is important not to fall into this mindset. Holding on to every problem, every bit of bad luck, every personal issue or bad encounter with another person will make you very bitter and sinical. That will weight heavy on you and darken your view of life, it will also steal joy and happiness out of your life. Yes bad things happen all the time, but we seem to forget about the good thing that happen all the time for us because we take those things for granted. For instance if you go out today and you forgot your umbrella and it starts to rain you might think that's bad luck, but you forget all the times that you went out and forgot your umbrella and it did not rain, which you could consider as good luck, but we take that for granted. Or that you have to pay for something and feel bad about spending the money, but you forget that you earned the money to be able to cover those kinds of things, which you should feel good that you were able to do. Every time you cross the street you don't get hit by a car, is that not a good thing. This good luck, or to say this not bad luck, or bad things happening to you happens all the time, we just don't notice and we don't because when we cross the street and don't get hit by a car we don't see the consequence of us continuing to live, we take that for granted, compared to the one time we get hit by the car that could be fatal, this we understand because of the negative consequences of that happening. We forget that so many good things happen to us all the time, in fact as I write this I did not really understand that either till I began writing this, though it has been an unformed thought just under the surface in my mind for some time now.
I will tell you that once I realized that I was just a small unimportant collection of atoms, to be scattered back across the universe one day, and so was everything else, it took a great deal of stress off my mind. I did not just give up and sit in my sofa and eat ice cream in despair about this, it just took away some of the anxiety and pressure of life. While we may turn to dust one day, we still must take care of ourselves until that time comes, and in that try to enjoy life as much as we can with a care.

To anyone going through a hard time, or feeling regret, feeling not like yourself, depressed, lonely, anxious, etc. I want you to know that you are NOT alone. Now I know that me saying that may not mean much to you, but I know that feeling. It's one of the worst feelings. Just feeling so alone and hopeless, anxious, sad, those feelings hurt. can make you feel less confident, like there's no point to anything. all sorts of different feelings. I just want you to know that there are people who love and care for you. I am one of those people. I honestly love you, and whatever hardships you are going through right now, i believe that you can get through it. maybe not right now, but eventually. things do take time. it may feel like you are never going to get through it, but i believe that you will. Please, don't give up. Life may not seem worth it because of all the bullshit, but there ARE positive things in life, if you haven't yet found your worth, i believe that you will. Life is hard, unfair, sad, etc. but it CAN be happy, YOU ARE capable of feeling happy. YOU ARE an amazing person. Please, believe in yourself, Be patient with yourself, Be kind to yourself, YOU DESERVE to feel happy. I believe in you, I really do, and i wish you the best of luck on this journey called life ❤

Everything you do matter because you leave something of yourself in anybody important you meet in your life. Your parents, your son and daughter, your friends, your colleagues, each one of them has a piece of you inside them. If you affect even only 10 people in your own life and each one of them passes that thing they got from you to another 10 people in their life, I think exponentially doesn’t take much “time” before you reach some billion people.
Also, speaking of time, it’s still contented if it is an invention or a discovery. We are part of this miracle called sentient life, what we do matters a lot.

I got a calm feeling after watching this video. Truth is, we stress so much to achieve goals, we strive to be perfect. We want and want, and as soon as we receive what we’ve been wanting, we come across something else. We’re never satisfied, never content. We become so tied up with work and bills that we forget the meaning of life. We forget how to live. Nothing matters in the end. Live your life, don’t take work home with you. Live life.

It matters that we affect other people's lives while we are alive. THAT LEAVES SOMETHING for the future.
A person could have totally dislike someone who is now long dead & that person they disliked in life (might have treat them bad or talked crap whatever) basically might have left you everything they own to better your future & current life. Life isn't meaningless. What matters is what you do while your alive instead of going through life living & being a selfish POS with no empathy towards life, other disturbed humans or especially animals.

This might sound weird to some but it happened. A few years ago I did a past life regression under hypnosis, during which I had the feeling I was taken on a journey by my guardian angel - zooming out from the earth, further and further into the cosmos - and given exactly the same message. Using some of the same graphics.

I believe telescopes are the greatest invention to clean the cobwebs out of the brain, to put life in proper perspective.
I love this video, ……a few years ago I had a heart attack and passed out, I honestly believe I was dead for a few moments. When I came back to life it was like I had a moment of clarity, I understood that absolutely nothing matters, I understood that the entire world will eventually be gone and every single memory will be vaporized. This video gets it, we’ve only got a smidgen of time, then you’re gone, a lot of religious people don’t like that thought, but it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks, eventually there will be no trace that this universe ever existed, once you accept that, you’ll find peace, so go have fun, live a good life.

Life is like a train ride.
You hop on the train.
You meet people on it.
You make some friends.
You find someone you like.
You may have a descendant.
You see people leave the train earlier than you.
You fell sad when they leave.
You cry when you realize they might not come back.
You enter a tunnel and everything seems to go bad.
You leave the tunnel and realize it is not as bad as you thought.
You start to accept that eventually everyone is going to leave the train.
You fell like time is passing by faster than usual.
You see that your station is near.
You aren’t scared of leaving the train anymore.
You say your final goodbyes to the people you meet on the train.
You see the doors open.
You look back one more time and see the people you meet and the memories you made.
You finally see the light when you look back at the doors.
You start walking out of the train without looking back.
And finally you reached your station.

The fact that we as humans exist is nothing less than miraculous - let’s not diminish that. WE DO MATTER… because we can never take back yesterday. I matter, because it’s what I chose to be. Call it a blip. Happenstance. It’s still magical! I will miss this lifetime and all the good memories - I don’t know if I’ll ever have a human existence again, so I’m cherishing every moment while I’m living.

Little correction : the brightest event in the universe isn’t Supernovae, which could outshine an entire galaxy for a few weeks, it’s a Quasar, which can outshine 10.000 galaxies for millions of years. A Quasar can form when lots of matter fall into a black hole.

It does matter because it matters to me! You have to find a balance between the truth of the universe but also the truth within us all is that this matters SO much. It’s our lives! If we balance the logic and emotion, the answer is to live it! Just exist, and you’ve done it! I’m proud of you

Greatest gift of creation is - "Life is Meaningless"
Your job is to create the meaning to your life
Without you creating it then it’s meaningless
Now what is the meaning of your life? 🍒
Precious, Holy, Beautiful
It’s your Call
It’s your Game
It’s your Creation
It’s your Experience
It's up to You
If you don't use it, you'll lose it.
Everything is neutral until you assign meaning to it 🎁
"Your Only Purpose"
To fulfill your highest purpose in life
Is Be yourself as best as you can!
Thats it, the universe excpects nothing from you at all
You all have the same purpose and mission is to just be your self
How you do it is up to you
The way you do it is not your purpose
The way you do it is an expression of your purpose
The only purpose you have is to be yourself
Because you are unique
There's never been a you
There's no other you now
There never will be another you just like you
"All that is" knows this
In creating you all that is will never be complete without you
The way you do it is the expression of yourself
Just being yourself is the greatest thing you can do

I've been feeling overwhelmed recently with personal problems and money worries...I needed a video like this to put things in perspective. We often forget how small and insignificant our personal life problems really are. Our little concerns and stresses about life's details don't amount to anything in the end. We have this short time to run around and then we're gone. 99.99% of us will be forgotten within a generation's time (how much do you think about your great grandfather?). And even so-called icons of history like Einstein, Mozart, Lincoln, DaVinci...aren't even specks of dust on the sweater of the cosmos. While realizing that none of it really matters may feel depressing, it's also incredibly liberating. It takes a lot of weight off your shoulders! We're all in the same useless boat heading for the waterfall into the abyss...the whole damn lot of us. Lighten up and enjoy the ride for whatever it's worth....which of course is nothing!

Thanks for creating this video, it does give me a different perspective of life. But I feel there is a full spectrum of truth, and it changes from the angle you look at everything. I feel we should try to leave the world some amount better then when we came into it. If the reverse was true, and everyone did nothing and made the world a little worse, we would eventually be back living like cave men, fighting over scraps of food and a cave to live in. Sorry to put such a negative twist on your video, but I like to look at things from all sides. I have been learning and trying to practice Stoicism, and it says to not waste your life, live a meaningful and purposeful life. It is a simple to follow philosophy, and it feels good to practice it in real life. I feel I am on the right path finally, after decades of searching.

At age 67 I can tell you that life is indeed temporary, filled with pain and suffering for most all of us. We’re all rushing around, stressing out over things that have little meaning in the end. Man is just another animal with a larger brain, but we are still primitive and barbaric in many ways. Yet scientist think they know so much more than they really do, such as how the universe began, how long it’s been here and even when it will end. Plus they state it as fact instead of opinion or theory. 50 or so years ago they believed differently and 50- 100 years from now (providing man will still be in existence) they of course will have entirely different beliefs. We don’t know shit! Reality is what we deem it to be...... nothing more. We all seem to believe we’re so much more than we actually are. We just happen to have evolved on a planet that is situated at a distance from a sun that allows biological life to form and evolve. We’ll be gone in the blink of an eye, we should and could live in harmony but haven’t evolved anywhere close to that point.

You know I hear this concept thrown around time and time again and in the overall spectrum of life it is true but this perspective can only be seen from afar. Life overall is meaningless in the grand scheme of things but we live day by day second by second so every situation has an enormous meaning in the moment. Say you are shot and need to go through ferocious pain agony and months even years of rehabilitation. Years later when you are fully healed and pain free you can look back with a sober mind and say to yourself well that wasnt that bad but moment by painstaking moment during the ordeal it is very real and very meaningful. So in conclusion when we are on our deathbed we obviously can look back at out life as a whole and say it had no meaning but that's because it is almost over.

The reason so many people get existential and almost shocked when they are confronted with the fact that they will die, is that it seems almost like an injustice, like that it wasn’t meant to be this way.
The truth is we are eternal spirits in mortal bodies. Read some CS Lewis, he’s a great author and theologian.

Crazy to think that everything we do, everyone we meet, every emotion, happy or sad... dosent matter. Nothing matters. Once we leave this floating rock after a while life just goes on without us. Nothing but memories from people who were alive at the same time. But whom will also inevitably die along with the last memories of you ever existing. Yet we care so much about what people think of us and other pointless shit. I guess we will never get the answers on why we were put on this tiny rock or what the meaning of life truly is. But I guess we gotta just role with it and see where it takes us, I know I won’t be around to see how this all turns out but I sure am gonna make the most of my limited time on this little floating rock and just do whatever the fuck I want and don’t give a shit about what people say or think. I’m gonna stop rambling on... what happens when I’m in my head at 5am lol (Quarantine got my sleep schedule messed up 😂). Good luck everyone, I know this whole life thing can be hard but just enjoy it while we have it. Peace.

well, yes the meaning of life is not about the destination but the jorney to it and the freinds that you make on the way. finding the meaning is truly what gives our life meaning. so the true question that is truly worth asking is how you want to live that life and finding true happines to it❤

Time passes! Times change! We hear this said everywhere, and automatically a picture arises in the spirit: We see changing times marching past us!
This picture becomes so en-grained that for many it also forms a solid foundation on which they continue to build, adjusting their whole research and speculation to it. Before long, however, they encounter obstacles which contradict each other. However hard they try, not everything will fit in. They lose their way, leaving gaps that can no longer be filled in spite of all their pondering. Many then believe that in such places faith must act as a substitute for the failure of logical reasoning. But this is wrong! Man should not believe in things he cannot grasp! He must try to understand them; for otherwise he opens wide the door to errors, and with errors the Truth is always debased.
To believe without understanding is just indolence, mental laziness! It does not lead the spirit upwards, but presses it down. Look upward, therefore, we are to test and investigate. Not for nothing does the urge to do so lie within us.
Time! Does it really pass? Why does one encounter obstacles when thinking more deeply about this axiom? Simply because the fundamental idea is wrong; for time stands still! We, however, hurry towards it! We rush into time, which is eternal, and seek the Truth in it. Time stands still. It remains the same, today, yesterday and a thousand years hence! Only the forms change. We plunge into time, to cull from her records for the purpose of enriching our knowledge from what has been collected there! For time has lost nothing, it has recorded all things. It has not changed, because it is eternal. You too, Oh man, are always just the same, whether you appear young or old! You remain what you are! Have you not already sensed this yourself? Do you not clearly notice a difference between the form and your “ego?” Between the body that is subject to change and yourself, the spirit, which is eternal?
You seek the Truth! What is Truth? What you still feel to be truth today you will recognize even tomorrow as error, in which, however, you will later again discover grains of truth! For the manifestations also change their forms. Thus your seeking continues, yet amid these changes you mature!
Truth, however, remains always the same, it does not change, for it is eternal! And being eternal it can never be clearly and truly grasped by the earthly senses, which are familiar only with the change of forms! Therefore become spiritual! Free from all earthly thoughts, and then you will possess the Truth, will stand in the Truth, bathe in it, and be constantly surrounded by its pure Light, for it will envelop you completely. As soon as you become spiritual, you will swim in it.
Then you need no longer study so painstakingly what science has to offer, nor need you fear errors, but you will already have the answer to every question in the Truth itself, moreover, you will no longer have any questions, because without thinking you will know all things, will embrace all things, because your spirit will live in the pure Light, in the Truth!
Therefore become spiritually free! Burst all the fetters that hold you down!

Yes: "Time" is simply a system of measurement for the passing of events. Time may be an artificial construct, but the passing of events is quite real. Our survival often depends upon the ability to predict an event, or series of events as they unfold. This is why our system of measurement, (time), is of such importance. It may not be "real" but it empowers us greatly.

If you have nothing that you really want in your life, spend lots of time tripping about it. The more you trip the more ideas will pop up the more creative your gonna start to get. Your subconscious mind doesn't care if your vision is trippy. It doesnt care if you dont know how to do it.
When you see a thing clearly in your mind, your creative "trip mechanism" within you takes over and does the job much better than you could do it by conscious effort or willpower.
A different psychedelic from a different planet every nanosecond.
All sorts of dreams are possible.
The human nervous system cannot tell the difference between an "actual" experience and an experience imagined vividly and in detail.
Synthesize "experience," to literally create experience, and trip it, in the laboratory of our minds.
A vision is a very trippy image, the most trippy image that you can come up with for yourself at this time. This vision will become like a hallucination in other peoples mind and this could be the cause of them creating extraordinary things.

We live in the universe but not with it. We live with the earth and all that's on it. And what living, conscious beings do does matter. It matters to all of the other living, conscious beings sharing the same space and time with you. Be here now, because you can't when you're dead.

I used to get angry when I thought "I didn't ask to be here or at least I don't remember asking". But, then I decided I should live life to its fullest because I may have asked for this chance to live on this fantastic planet. Water to swim in, fresh air to smell after a rain, plants to grow, flowers, food, sex, fantastic scenery, things to learn, rain on the roof, snow, excitement, love.

Magnificent explanation of the fact that nothing matters. Very well made video. But what matters is you and your progeny. You are here because of the ancestors, right from that unicellular organism to the closest apes, we owe our existence to the relentless struggle of our genes to survive and procreate. We owe the same effort towards our progeny. We may be long gone but our descendants will face that agonising pain of annihilation. We are connected through our genes - that binding thread of unity. So we are part of the universe. Our struggle to live forever in the tumultuous cosmos will continue. Maybe we came to Earth from somewhere twill again go somewhere. Maybe it’s a regular cosmic feature in the never ending cycle of creation and destruction. When we look up nothing matters but when you look down to face a predator on Earth our survival matters.

The best way to live life ,is to not find specific meaning of life and just enjoy it even it is not going as you wished .Do what best you can do for yourself your Close ones and society .In the end it is just a consciousness that we got to experience this amazing thing called life.It is precious and worth living.Enjoy beauty rather than other part of it.

The meaning of life in terms of an individual? Whatever you want.

life may be "meaningless" on an intellectual level , but the good news is life on a non mental level is full and whole .
Almost everyone has been in love at some point in your life and yet no one has ever been able to describe or give meaning to this love. it just IS. it's not necessary to understand love in order to experience it .
Looking for " meaning " is a huge trap that will only lead you away from the fullness of this moment .

as much as my human nature tells me that this can’t be possible, i immediately shrug that off because for some reason i find such comfort in this. it’s almost relieving to know that literally no matter what happens in my lifetime, good or bad, after a set amount of years, it will no longer matter and every thought, action, and consequence i live through will be null. so fuck it, i’m just gonna live. that’s all i can do anyway.

Wow. What a relief. I am working on renovating my deceased parents home. Nobody is telling me how to do it. I am feeling my way on my own. So if I fail and I die before the work is finish, IT DOESNT MATTER, because I just learned NOTHING DOES! What a big relief! If I fail, if i mess up, so what? That universe out there does not care or even notice! I feel so much better!

While I largely agree with the sentiment expressed, it is important to remember that we are not simply present in the universe, but rather are a product of it. The idea that we exist within the universe, rather than as a part of it, can be problematic for those seeking to understand their place in the world. It is crucial to recognize that our existence is not ours alone, but rather part of the universe's collective experience. Our brief awareness of this experience is but a small part of a larger journey that we would not have had the privilege to experience outside of it. As Carl Sagan famously remarked, "we are a way for the universe to know itself."

Correction. Humans aren't the only conscious beings to exist. Even a mother dog is aware of the needs of its pups and takes measures to nurture and protect them. Such actions presuppose consciousness. Any dog owner will concur.

Literally every time something bad happens to me, I just stop and remind myself how unimaginably massive and old the universe is, I think about other life forms on another planet billions of light years away from here and what they’re possibly doing, how they might sound. Most of the time I imagine hearing the sound of a whale singing underwater except it’s on another planet and it’s not coming from a whale…and after thinking about all that, whatever has me in a bad mood or whatever happened to me that day feels so insignificant that it stops bothering me.

If nothing is PERFECT, and if the universe came out of NOTHING, that means that PERFECTION turned into IMPERFECTION in order to be there a multifaceted universe where each part of it is the result of its own original impulse to become imperfect. So each of us and everything is the result of what each of us choose to be when we were NOTHING...
that is...when we were PERFECTION. Perhaps because...

I've have these exact thoughts, now I've hit 67 years old, to me, right now, nothing really matters anymore, my future is being curtailed with every passing day, my past is expanding, my future is shrinking. Do I care, no. There is no meaning to life, life just is, we pretend to be happy, and in many ways we fool ourselves. Many of us are deluded by the transient pleasure of materialism and want and perceived need. Like every other creature on this strange planet we come we go. I agree, nothing really matters.

Hats off to you bud!! That was an awesome and thoughtful message towards the end of your video. I like how you transitioned from the scientific facts to putting our daily lives in perspective to the universe as a whole. We are so insignificant in the whole scheme of things, we should just try to enjoy our existence even in the face of tragedies.

This is right out of that Woody Allen movie where the character he plays, as a little boy, tells his mother he isn't going to do his homework anymore because the Universe is expanding, meaning it will die some day, therefore there is no point in doing anything. . His mother says something like "who cares about the Universe, do your homework."

It doesn't have to be so dark and depressingly deep. Life is full of moments that make it beautiful. We aren't just living to die. To the world you may be just another person but to one person, you are their world. The fact that we are a blip in time just proves we are a fluke that matters.

I've had a few thoughts stuck inside my head for a long time now:
Why do we exist? Why is this our life? Why isn't life different?
We don't have any answers to this. The best we can do is wait until we draw our last breath. Maybe then we'll get answers. Or, maybe not. But these questions have been stopping me from doing well in school, stopping me from sleeping, not having as much fun as I should, etc. My mind tricks me into thinking that nothing matters. I don't mean anything. Another thing is derealization/depersonalization. I feel like nothing around me is real. Everybody and everything around me is fake. And I have no proof that it is or isn't.
Sorry for drowning you in my depressing thoughts and troubles 🥲

After having a mental break down, i have realised that life is not worth it. While people may say "What about the happiness?" Happiness is not a constant and the suffering and pain we go trough outfolds it by much more. Dying early or not being born is a gift, life is a cruel thing. Whats the point of living if i know that my family will die.
The only reason i am not killing myself right now is because i couldn't make my family and friends go trough so much pain, and it just seems selfish.
As soon as everyone that cares for me is gone i will be too.
Until then i will try living my best life and get as much happiness.

What you experience as reality is just like a dream. Everything in your experience is due to temporary causes and conditions that constantly changes. What you call ‘I’ is a conglomerate of events and memories that you combine together into a fictional story of a self. Ultimate reality is nothing but space of awareness. It has no size, form or placement. In it, no time exists, nothing is new or old. Nothing really exists on its own and therefore nothing is really being born or will ever die. Nothing is separate.
The question arise; why do I experience this dream-like state as real then? The Buddha gave the answer: Know yourself and you will know all reality. Why? We are nothing but Awareness (consciousness) and when we know our own true nature to be nothing but that awareness we are one with all that we experience. We understand the true nature of ourselves and all that we experience. Nothing can ever be known outside of that awareness. We are neither one nor many. All dualities are dissolved.
Although this has always been the true nature of reality and ourselves, we have not yet understood it. Therefor we walk this illusory world of humans thinking we are separate beings on a planet in a material universe. Therefor we are constantly looking outwardly trying to find answers to our peculiar situation. Therefor we experience all sorts of unpleasant and painful experiences. Therefor we experience the inevitable changes of life and death as our personal drama. Therefor we experience loss and bewilderment. We are looking in the wrong place and therefor we remain ignorant.
Although there’s no evolution in the state of ultimate reality, nevertheless we must all walk the illusory path towards awakening in order to return to the awakened state that we have always been, enlightened. That is what this cosmic joke of being a conscious being means.

Yes, in the end nothing really matters however getting there matters a lot. You have nerves to send signals to your brain telling you just how much everything matters while you are still alive. After that and only after that then nothing really mattered. That day will be here and I’m not looking forward to it either.

Buy a small note book. Create five chapters in that book.
Chapter One draw a personality mind map with nodes of people factual or fictional you would like to behave more like, and think what they would do at challenging times during your life.
Chapter Two write down your beliefs, even if they are nihilistic, this orients you existentially and personally in a "meaningless" universe. The fantastic thing is that no-one decides the ultimate meaning of this universe, only you as there is no ultimate meaning. You are free and this is your universe.
Chapter Three, write down your small and long term goals with the understanding you may never achieve them, this will give you satisfaction and targets to aim for.
Chapter Four, write down daily tasks and pleasures that will contribute to your reaching these goals. The pleasures you write down could be anything, but the point is they remind you why you love life. A pleasure may be a person, a place an activity, a book etc...
Chapter Five, write down helpful rules to follow for example; maxims, the golden rule, enjoy making mistakes, accept who you really are, accept that you cannot truly control your thoughts or the environment around you only your choice of behaviour, apply 75% effort worrying and caring in everything that you do and experience as that is the optimal level, try to reduce suffering whereever you see it...
Put this book away, but know you can always refer to it when required.

I've lived 41 years.
28 of those years I spent homeless and wandering from one end of the country to the other.
Have a grade 7 education scholastically!
Life has only one meaning... and that only occurs when we die!
Life don't seem to matter, to too many people, until it's gone !
then it's momentarily remembered,
before other lives move on and wait for their own moment of meaning through the deterioration of our organic matter!
We give our own lives meaning based on how we live it!
Does Life have an autonomous meaning?
yes to live till you die!
Everything in between, life and death, is just filler to pass the time from one to point to the other.
We Give meaning to that which , without our conscience perception ,
would just simply exist without need for meaning or understanding beyond what is needed to survive till death.

This "life" is a rare occurrence that even the most basic life form grasps by fighting for it. 2012 was an end to a calendar cycle so called ancient peoples in the Americas established out of their knowledge about the stars above. It matters if we still kill for gains when the wisdom is there for us to know better. All life must exist as one arbiter moving forward to a discerning and concerned destiny. We are in this together to the infinite.

This philosophy is troubling in its focus on our trivial selves - but avoidance of our impact on the lives of others trivializes the importance of the (good and bad) impacts on other people, others life forms, and on the tiny planet we inhabit. This line of thinking suggests that each "enlightened" human should do "whatever they want" since we are all going to die and the universe will end. This is a shallow excuse for any sort of evil and allows no particular benefit in living with purpose or being good to others.

things in life matters only while you are alive. They don't matter anymore when you're dead. To think that they matter only while at present and alive, you do not care much of the future, spares you anxiety and depression. Enjoy, whiles things lasts because they're nothing actually in the end.

I don't understand how people can find comfort in meaninglessness. To me, if nothing matters, then my values and actions don't matter to. There's no point in caring about myself, because I'll eventually die. There's no point in helping others, because they will die too, and even if my footprint will somehow last for a few generations, they will all die and it won't matter.
For me, "enjoying the moment" mattered, because, well, it contributed to something. It made me me. Little things put together to create memories, personality, values, all that stuff. But if all of that is just gonna disappear, then what's the point in making it in the first place? After all, it won't matter whether I lived a happy life or not, or whether I lived at all, so why bother?
It really demotivates me and devalues everything I could care about

Meaning of life: Serve others.
What are the concequences of serving the self? Selfishness, greed, anger, hate, disharmony, conflict, war ,destruction and DEATH.
But what happens if you serve others?

A sand castle on a beach is not insignificant compared to all the grains of sand on all the beaches of the world. It is a region of local complexity which has overcome entropy ephemerally. It does not matter that this ornate architectural achievement is temporary if it is appreciated. Consequently the meaning of life arising out of sentient self reflective life is culture and all those artefacts of culture do not need to be preserved forever. It helps to endeavour to look after a crystal flute for two hundred years so it can create a meaningful connection between the younger generation of a society and their founding fathers who had compromised on their abolitionist ideals to escape a 3% tax on a beverage few even drink these days as they are more into coffee. The postmodern recontextualisation of United States President James Madison generated a lot of different reactions throughout American culture and made many reflect on their relationship to a history they are a part of as American Citizens, but rarely get reminded they are a part of that continuity, and are usually expected to conform to the decorum of the era from which the artefact originated thereby keeping their culture marginalised, which is why Lizzo's rebellion was so necessary and the story gained more coverage than Biden sabotaging Putin's gas pipelines like he had threatened to, which could very well lead to a nuclear holocaust annihilating all sentient life in the Universe, but it would al have still been worth it to have that brief ephemeral moment of seeing Lizzo twerk.

Life is the universe trying to figure itself out. Think of it as a giant escape room. If you can figure out how to jump to another universe or maybe to a reality closer to base reality, perhaps you - an insignificant little ant - can change the multiverse forever.

📌Friends, I hope this helps someone who needs to hear it💜 According to many Near-Death Experiences (NDEs), we come here to learn about love experientially and to apply what we learn.
A soul cannot do that in the ethereal realm because everything is perfect there. To understand the light (love), one must experience darkness; one cannot truly know what a thing is until it has been contrasted with its opposite. I believe we choose to come here, and sometimes not just to learn, but to help others (to teach).
Heaven is home, but once we've enjoyed basking for eons in perfect heavenly bliss, we might look forward to a new challenge/adventure in this amazing universe. I think the soul takes on these 'lives' just as we opt to read books or watch movies — sometimes a comedy, other times a drama or thriller etc., — but all for the sole purpose of learning to love. So please don't fear the process; God knows what He's doing. Don't be a backseat driver! ☺️
However, I do believe that it's imperative that we learn to love (mercy, compassion, forgiveness, kindness, fortitude, equanimity, etc.), otherwise, experiences and even lives may repeat until we do so! Understandably, God always gives precedence to the soul over the body. Once we've overcome all our challenges, I doubt we'll come here too often, if at all.
I believe that an important thing to remember is the 'golden thread' that seems to run through most NDEs; namely, we are a part of God (His children), we're eternal, we're loved beyond measure, and we come here to learn to love. Thank goodness it's designed in such a way as to always feel like the first time!
Strive to be the best version of yourself in thought, word, and deed, and you may be surprised by the abundance of blessings that come your way. Give it a try and see for yourself!
I wish you the very best in life! 💜
"To find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better... To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
—Ralph Waldo Emerson

1972. Standing in front of the farmstead my father grew up on I saw my father cry. I didn't understand it. I was 4. As a old guy today I realize my father was slave driven to keep the farm up circa 1945. Only to witness the place in a shambles 30 years later. NOTHING MATTERS! Be happy!

I say that joy is the true meaning of life, because when our time on earth is done, it won't matter how good grades we got or how rich we were. At the end it will matter how much you enjoyed life, did good deeds.

Everything in this world are temporary. Don't toil so hard all your life for material things because death comes anytime and your hard earned wealth will not go with you in your deathbed and someone will get it easily and misused it.
Knowing your undertakings or tasks is crucial to make your life worthy and useful.

This might come across as odd since everyone seems to lean on the 'profound' message delivered here. While it's most certainly thought provoking, it's all anchored one one thing; the beginning of everything. If there's no answer to the start, no meaning, no definite purpose, then we are left to wade through life senselessly, trying to make sense of everything's that 'senseless. Ultimately, just existing.
I'd like to point you to a simple yet vehemently opposed solution; an intelligent designer by an intelligent designer. Call the designer what you want, but Ultimately the earth and universe is too much in tune and predictable as well as measurable to simply have 'just' happened. No logic, no designer, no thought, just voilà, out of nothing came everything.
Stop and think for a moment

It matters to your children and grand children. Are you creating a life worth inheriting? South side of Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, hell no. Many places are worth inheriting. It matters to the next generation for their time on Earth. Yes. It matters to your children how you live your life and make the world worth inheriting with balance, intelligence. Exercise, lose weight, eat whole food, avoid addictions, read labels. If you can do these ten words, five ideas, life will matter and improve. Do it.

I want to thank everyone for doing life with me even though we will probably never meet there is a reason each one of us is here so keep shining you'll light on the world like only you can I know I'm one of the rarest valuable objects in this universe so that means everyone else is to
Okay been wanting to comment well kinda vent that what I do to get my self back right without lashing out at the ones in my life I vent in comment so everyone happy and nobody is hurt or even reads it so life all good 👍🏻 try it
We are here for a reason every adult knows there has been a time in life where there was only one reason you are still alive and or have what you need to live my spouse of 16 years died in Aug 2021 and my whole life stopped we had a 30 year age difference completely opposite well nit so much I come from a Cajun family he's creole but we loved each other unconditionally we stuck it out through the hard times and he stuck around until I matured enough to realize If it wasn't for him stepping in my life when he did I would have died from drugs (we had meet a few years earlier but hadn't seen after that I was underage)and I had 2 children by then he became there daddy and stuck by and took care of them like they were his the youngest being a blonde hair blue eyes Lil girl didn't know he wasn't her dad but to my drug use I lost my children to cps after dealing with them for 7 straight years that's a life time movie save that for another vent.anyway life got good for us we never was close to being rich but his check paid the bills and I got paid every 2 weeks so we always had a Lil money and the house was paid for from a settlement he receive before I moved it and it was the house I saidvwas my dream house years before.i realized how much I took for granted from him he would fix my food and wake me up to eat because I would smoke Crack all night and sleep all day lost all kinds of weight .I didn't even know he was keeping my suger up I'm hyperglycemic by fixing me a drink or a snack it took me months to learn to do it my self I have to learn to take care of our youngest son who was 3 and autistic by myself I went tovwork so he had him all day when I got back it was bed time or close to it and I went into a deep depression I wouldn't answer the phone go to the door all Iwould do was move to care for our son that went on for 6 months straight I didn't leave the house u didn't get any assistance but I never ran out of food it would just show everything I needed came to me and the only way was God I mean everything we needed came to the door it literally I'm 35 bit I feel that if people never go though anything to see how God will protect provide and carry them how can they say they believe in him i should have been dead several time ivwas drunk and the truck was a dodge 1500 on a curvy country road at 3 in the morning fish tailed and i grabbed the handle instead of the rail thing and flew in the bayou my dog a red nose pit was pulling me out by hair the truck flipped 3 times there was people waiting on there ride to work at a church on the same road they said they didn't come to help because they knew who ever it was was dead I didn't even have a scratch and the truck was in between 2 large one trees and only had a flat tire like it had been placed there God is real you are a part of him and he loves you I talk to God like he's standing right on the side of me I include him in everything I do like he is a friend catch my self speaking to him out loud we were dancing the other morning since I'm now single I asked God to come dance with me I know it was in my head NY I was just as happy life has been rough this last year never knew how much Kenneth really did for me but I hope I done enough to show him how much I loved him because that's what really matters the people and the effects we have on each other and are we going to turn on God or give him our worries I have give him alot lately and I don't think of it again and everything comes out right so there's my vent sorry to the person who the channel is but this help me out when I have alot on me instead of passing it on to others in my life and nobody will read it any way I hope for everyone to stay safe happy and do the best you can stop worries about stuff you can't do anything about it won't do any good worry about it when you can do something about it though and your thoughts is the only thing u have any control of in this world really you can change a bad memory to anything lie to your selfvtill it replaces the bad memories and find the humor in life lighten up everything is not a serious as we make it shit happens what you going to do about it but buy another one or bring it to be fixed bit complain and hurting someone else for messing up isnt going to fmdo any good you still have to replace it so why be and spread pain to already hurt person because they know they mess up okay good night I feel lots better feeeew

Serving others is all the matters. Time is just change and should be called change. The reason we will never time travel backwards is that all atoms and plants would have to be returned to the positions they were in to the time we had travelled to. Otherwise, it wouldn't be the same time. It's not hard, It''s really only common sense that has been turned into something very complicated by people's ego mind.

Truly overwhelming to think how insignificant humans are in the vast emptiness of the universe
Our minds/brains cannot process this fact, at least mine can't
However, dwelling upon it is incredibly depressing and anxiety producing
SO, I suggest to live each day attempting to obtain a little joy and satisfaction
Love love love, yourself and others

At the risk of offending someone, id like to say i was reading a book thats 8 or 9 thousand years old. It was understood that our sky had 4 strata and the lightning was generated in the snow clouds. Lightning, it was said, was encoded with language. When lightning is translated into thunder, forest animals understand. So it turns out that lightning really does come from ice crystals and warn air. And on one given day, my fearless doberman respondered to thunder by squeezing herself in my closet, pushing the shoes aside and flattening herself on the floor. Very strange. I, too, had been searching for some meaning in life. I don't want to burden anyone with my trauma. It was bad and especially bad for the kids--not a single thing left to feed them. And someone had even stole the coins from their piggy banks. An 8 year old boy gave me a book (you'll figure this out, but bear with me for the science.) So i was speed reading for one reason: what was the purpose of life? As it turns out, there is a pattern of all things with 3 shells and a throne for the Proton. Yes, Proton, Πρωτον. Τhe purpose of life is a journey. If i chose to take the journey, i would be the electon. Yes, electon, ελεκτον. Τhe proton draws the electon with "cords of love." The wicked, is says, reject this call and cut the bonds "asunder." The pathway goes through the 3 shells (called courts) and ever narrowing entrances. In each shell, the electon get more light. We have 3 parts just like quarks and these light up one at a time in "quickenings." The light helps you see these things that you'd miss if you didn't follow the path which is called "the way of life." All of this is very Jewish until you get to Solomon. He ralks about the beginnings in each of the shells and the event when you reach the Proton. He used the Hebrew words mark, matthew luke and john,מערה מאת לוק יענה. Shocker. Which takes me back to the lightning. Now i could understand that the spirit of God was "brooding" on the face of the icy water. If you understand brooding, like an eagle over its nest, you can understand where the photons came from. There are a lot of things that become clear--like entanglement. Darn, i really wish i werent so old. But i really feel compelled to pass on the knowledge before i go. I think God said to David, "Seek my Face." And David answered, "Thy face i will seek." THIS is the purpose of life.

I’ve always known this grand scheme of things perspective. Most people only look at a couple hundred years from now. What about 500,000 years from now? You’re not important! What’s cool about life is that no matter what happens to you it’s still pointless and doesn’t matter. You live your life then you die. Only to be forgotten like everyone else. Other people call it a ride. You get on then it’s over and you get off. Doesn’t matter if you have kids or don’t, doesn’t matter if you’re successful. Nothing matters and that’s what’s cool

Meaning of Life is Life, "Being", Spirit, Presence, Essence, Vibration... One with Universe, as there is nonexistence there is existence, and as it is All it is from Nothing, one cannot exist without the other, Zen only happens when both are like the other, like Oneness. The Tree of Life that sets the 4,5,7,10,12,16,Infinite... essences of energy guides Us through our own Tree, that builds our Spirit, everything is like the Tree: World, Creation, Form, Collor, Sound, Number, Vibration... To the Infinity in every way

Imagine noticing you just ruined your new kicks the very instant they took a swim in that toxic sewage. The memory alone is what lasts the longest. I would try to block it out. Having made this video won't help either. But I wish you only the mega millions best of luck🙏👍

When you paint on a canvas the canvas is still white underneath. If you could somehow remove all of the paint perfectly the canvas would still be white. And it was the whole time. The canvas is darkness. Though in this analogy its sort of like a converse since its solid and not light or "clarity" as i call it. As darkness is not a color. And the converse of that is that the solid of black is all colors. The light of white is all colors. Perfect opposites. People think if they were perfect opposites that white would be without color in light and in solid and black would be all color in light and in solid. This would actually make them match. For them to be perfect absolute opposites white light holds the colors and is the opposite of solid and black solid holds the color in solid the opposite of light or "clarity". Also darkness is not black, darkness is not a color for this very reason since white light holds all colors. But thats a whole nother argument that ive taken to philosophy pages and science pages and im really sick of the academic bickering. If you do everything by the book youll never add anything to the book.

Life's meaning is what you make of it. Perfection has to reference imperfection to exist, so we are the projection of that return to complete the whole. The journey of return can be meaningless or full of richness. To the ego, yes, it makes no sense an means nothing, change your directional path, and things change to be more in tune with the collective and the realization that you are incomplete without the whole.

The very reason for knowing that in a few billion years' time the earth will cease to exist, is the one that is pushing us to further go into space. Chances are, should that day come, then we will have long been a multi-planetary, maybe even a multi-galactic species. And that consciousness, or curiosity or 'knowingness', proves that our existence isn't just nothing. Lastly, Deepak said that consciousness is the universe realising itself, which doesn't just sound nice, but is probably true as well. So for as long as we are the highest form of consciousness on this planet and possibly, of any other form we know, then we must cherish that because we are life's greatest form. Lastly lastly, we are now coming to understand that we can alter consciousness and accelerate human evolution, and that is massive news.

When you strip everything back to basics the meaning of life is simply the survival and reproduction of your species, sub species or race, that’s it. What you do with your life has personal meaning but is not the meaning of life.

I would agree with some other scientists that say consciousness is inherit in the universe. Stars know before they go supernova. The milky way black hole knows it is heading towards Andromeda. Cats, birds, insects and fish are conscious.

I feel like I need to address that: I agree that life has no meaning by default , but it doesn't mean that you are determined to live a meaningless one, you will only end up with nihilism and probably waste your entire life thinking that whatever you do has no value so you don't do anything, and that is dangerous. Your life has meaning, you just need to find it, find the things you value: friendship, love, contribution, whatever you find meaningful, work for it, fight for it even die standing up on your values, embrace the suffering ( like Nietzsche said ).so in the end life is not meaningless, it's just a bitch that needs to be tamed.

I’m sure at least some of you did that thing as a kid where you keep asking “why?” until the other person can’t give a reason. And most people stop answering as a deflection, because it always inevitably leads back to the absence of any reason at all. There is no reason for anything. Morals are assumed. Authority is assumed. Good and evil are inferred, and meaning is a construct. We are all the same, so no individual should assume any more value or importance over another. We always assume that good is the default setting for life. But it isn’t, the default is nothing. Life is an offset, that eventually returns to death, and death is not something that happens to us, but simply the thing to which all life returns.

The longer I live, the fewer number of people will be coming to my funeral. My life only has the meaning that I assign to it. I'm going to enjoy my books, hobbies, and spending time with those that are closest to me. I'll do the best I can to bring goodness and decency and help the people that I can. Hopefully I will get a good death and I'll go out knowing that I gave it my best effort.

I'm not like some of the people in here, I'm not sad or depressed, I'm not going through trouble or pain, I'm having so much fun, but I hate the idea that all of this means nothing even if I fully know it's true, the idea that I was put here and everyone that I love was put here for no reason at all, and that all of this means nothing, scares me, so much. when you think of the things that matter to you, you don't imagine them not having any value, but the more we learn about the universe, all it tells us is that they don't. It's not even a that I can't believe that it's true, it's more like I can't except it. I just don't know anything anymore

We don't know anything, really: we're making it all up as we go along. We base our definitions and explanations upon what we perceive to be "the truth" - but it's all the product of our particular perspective. We label and categorise things and make up stories derived from our interpretations of "evidence" we find, basically wild guesses that are held up as "facts" by those who consider themselves to be the most intelligent beings in the entire immensity and history of the universe.
We don't know what this thing we call "life" - that inhabits our bodies and the weird, wild and terrifying creatures that share this Earthly realm with us - IS, never mind its origin, its components or its raison d'être, that is, if has one. All we can say for sure about any of this is summed up in the words of an old song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOeSTnzjtBE

A very good video. But the crucial fact is obviously missing here: namely, that the entire universe only exists for humans when they are conscious. As soon as they become unconscious, the entire universe disappears for them. The „clearing of being“ is the indispensable prerequisite of all physics and astrophysics. It is through it, that reality is snatched from obscurity and brought into the brightness of unconcealment (awareness).
Natural science is apparently incapable of taking its own presuppositions into account. It is concerned exclusively with „cleared beings“(„gelichtetem Seienden“). The “clearing being” („lichtende Sein“) itself is forgotten for them.

I disagree, it matters very much what we do especially if we have other people depending on us. Yes the universe will eventually go cold but there’s quite some time between now and then… We can create a more pleasant life experience on this planet for all of us, for all humanity if we only work together, stop hating, killing each other. Choose the path of love rather then hate and destruction.

The meaning of our life is to obtain a habit of not bullshitting in this physical realm. We live in this body as punishment. So we know a thin line between happiness and being outta control. If you had a body that doesn't have these mortal inhibitors you would still know the meaning of life , but you wouldn't give a damn. You would be cruel.

don’t you think we have a purpose in this life? The fact that our eyebrows are above our eyes shows that we have a purpose in this life as our eyebrows protect our eyes from sweat which contains salt, if it keeps getting into our eyes it will damage it. This shows that the creator, whoever created this universe and us, is the most wise. Similarly, the fact that our eyes are in front of our faces not behind them shows the wisdom of the creator. Imagine if our eyes were behind us, how would we walk? Our nose being above our mouth again, shows the wisdom of the creator as it inables us to smell our food before eating it. So ask yourself this question. “Does it make sense for the one who created this world, who is the most wise, to make us for no reason? With no purpose?” The answer is of course “no”. When we look at the sky and the earth, the alteration between night and day, we will come to realise that all of this did not come about for no reason.
.I can explain to you the purpose of your life if you want if this makes sense to you and you want me to explain then reply I will explain it all if you want. With complete logic. I can explain completely.
Thanks for reading
Have a good day

What if the universe was just the county I live in and it will exist forever and all my best thoughts, my finest moments lived on in a form that people will be able to look at, listen to, see... Would that make my existence any more valuable, meaningful? Of course not. My thoughts are not original. In many ways they are not even my thoughts, my memories. I did not choose life. Life chose me. The story of my life is the story of things happening. My thoughts, my feelings, my body are a dance between me and the universe or more likely with the universe dancing with itself. Awareness, that is the meaning. Nothing more.

"One day humans became a thing and we became concious" or did we?
Time is known as earth time as you explained perfectly. So time is a thing, we just call it time (in english)
"We can come up with theories" exactly and that's what everything is. A theory.
"You're most likely born....." Did I? That's just what I assume from the stories my parents told me, if they are in fact my parents.
I'm sorry I can go on and on and question everything you say 😀
Not that I have the anwsers, in fact I don't know nothing.
Just trying to find out when I get the words in front of me: "Mission complete" 😀
And yes, that's also a theory.
Does this make "my life" hard? It's the other way around. If nothing is real what I see, do and feel. Than that means I can do anything and everything.

Nothing matters, except that it does. Don't eat well, exercise, clean, or learn how to read or speak properly. Don't intervene when someone steals from and then murders your friends and family. Sit on the grass and tell yourself life has no meaning, and be completely indifferent to everyone and everything. The nature of the universe doesn't really matter to anyone that is willing to endure infinite hardship for the sake of a single breath. Be kind, and don't take anyone or anything for granted. FYI: Humility and nihilism are not the same thing

I think the concern is that life begets suffering and the question revolves around whether can live with that. We're human, a species doomed to live in the unbalanced twilight of god-like knowledge and animalistic tendencies. We are aware of our own mortality and the cruelty of a lion eating a gazelle. We can't claim innocence or ignorance like our animal brethren because of our free will to choose good. Can we justify the evil we choose to commit? Can we live with pain in a world where misfortune is the rule?
Humans experience things subjectively, so we tend to remember more good experiences than bad ones as if that could erase the evil, what hubris. Ignorance is bliss, so you're right about that part.
I assume some of us are making the argument that it's better to abandon our intelligence and higher thinking, for the simple life of animals that can't comprehend the knowledge of good or evil. You don't get to have your cake and eat it.

Humans will become masters of the universe. They, definitely, will achieve immortality and conquer death. They will create their own permanent universe; provided they have enough time. So there is a meaning for our life

If we all create our own meaning, then there is no common meaning. Then if I like killing people, I should do it. Or if that person likes abusing people they should do it. One person likes saving the rainforest, another likes chopping it down - they should both do what they want, right? Surely there has to be a common meaning or goal like happiness, joy, peace, love that all people share - otherwise we'll just be in conflict and competition for however much time we have left as a life form in this universe?

Realizing that nothing in life really matters and that you are just a minuscule part of the universe at a most inopportune moment is the first step of enlightenment. It means you become aware of the futility of being insistent and stubborn on your personal beliefs and ideas which ultimately govern your actions

Time is not made out of nothing(maybe in west)
I would highly recommend u checking out old vedas.(5000+ years old books)
In vedic books its all written how not just on earth but other planets time is calculated with the help of the sun.
Also we also calculated the distance between earth and sun long before any telescope was even invented
this is again talked about in the same books
Even the astrologist of west said i took knowlege of veds and recearched on them
Sadly world dosent knows of our culture for some reason

Far a vast majority of the time our species has been on this planet we have not had the luxury to worry about things like meaning. Survival was what mattered. Now, we have lot's of time to waste but are faced with the realization that none of this matters at all. In a million years no one will remember humanity (most likley). Truth is in just 100 years no one will probably remember most of us or care. Even famous people are really only known by a name in a book or a story... even the most famous of us are lost to time. So, it really is up to us to create meaning but then there is a realization that the idea of meaning is just that - an idea - not something that exists. I simply choose to enjoy my children and the few people out of the 8 billion on this Earth that I really know. It's ironic that even on a planet with so, so, many humans most of us are really alone even during the short time we are here. I have realized the most important thing is to learn to enjoy the simplest things in life and not worry about the silly idea of "success."
