Shes easily one of the most intelligent, well-read people ive heard in her field. Shes so well versed that her counter arguments sound rehearsed despite being part of a dynamic debate. Shes precise, and its extremely fascinating to listen to her voice her knowledge on the subject because she clearly dedicates her life to learning her field and surpasses the intelligence of everyone in the room. 285 Reply 17 replies @rayasrosas @rayasrosas 1 day ago No puedo creer que este médico no esté preso por decir las barbaridades que dijo. 60 Reply 2 replies @ZIbroweed @ZIbroweed 3 days ago I really liked this. Besides this, during the podcast Dr. Gundry avoided most if not all the question by going back to something he is able to manipulate into being 'true', which really threw me off. Props to Dr. Belardo for pointing out where Dr. Gundry was contradicting himself, misleading something or where he was out right wrong or forgetting something. I greatly appreciate the way you look at information, statistics, and the way you present it to people because of your awareness of how the information will be consumed. I also greatly appreciate how calm and collected you are able to remain in a situation where someone is making frustrating claims and sticking by them regardless of how many times you try to get them to think of it in a different light. I love watching your videos as they're very entertaining and educational as well as how positive you are, it helps me relax when I have so many things that I worry about. I hope you keep making these awesome videos because I and many others really appreciate having someone so knowledgeable and humble in an ever changing field talk about these various ideas and issues. 32 Reply 1 reply @daniellima4391 @daniellima4391 2 weeks ago It's impossible to argue against someone who straight up ignores your argument and refuses to acknowledge what you're saying 4.2K Reply 131 replies @isaaccarlson9991 @isaaccarlson9991 4 days ago This was an excellent discussion and a great example of an educated person accidentally applying the “motte and Bailey fallacy”. I wonder if that concept flew over Dr. Gundry’s head (which is scary considering he has patients and doesn’t understand simple concepts) 1 Reply @bobbyrejek6013 @bobbyrejek6013 1 day ago Wow, Gundry's on a whole 'nother level. I read studies constantly, have a decade long background in natural supplements and diet, more than a decade as a strength coach, and genuinely enjoy reading studies. This guy is TERRIFYING in how easily he's able to switch things around to suit his points with confidence and a casual air. The very first time I saw him, I furrowed my brow because I vehemently disagreed, but had to admit he ACTED like he knew what he was talking about and was willing to support his arguments with evidence. With some things, I'd actually have to go through the studies and try to find them to refute him, and you just can't do that in conversation. I sincerely hope more people see through his BS and he just goes away, out of the limelight. We live in a dark age of misinformation and information overload and this guy is a snake in the grass. 8 Reply @ashwinimuthukrishnan2122 @ashwinimuthukrishnan2122 20 hours ago (edited) Dr. Belardo is so eloquent in the way that she speaks, she doesn't pause unless it's necessary. All her facts are put forth in such an articulate manner with the right flow which is easy to keep up with and very impressive to listen to. She can keep speaking for a good amount of time without consciously trying to think of what to say, I think that makes her a brilliant orator and it also shows how passionate she is about what she does 8 Reply 1 reply @planetfireworks2500 @planetfireworks2500 4 weeks ago HOW does this woman remain so professional and patient in the face of a man who is completely disrespecting not only her work but also her personally?? I see his point of eating fruit in season, how they've been bastardized, etc. But he's right, we're apes and fruit are one of the most important things we can do for our body. There is no comparison between high fructose corn syrup and a piece of fruit. Apples and oranges... 4 Reply @Alex-cw3rz @Alex-cw3rz 4 weeks ago This was a perfect example of how to debunk someone's pseudoscience. Reading up on the topic calmly explaining facts and bringing in an expert who can fill in any details that are missed. We need more of this, it could be called a debate, but it was more than that it was so informative. Which is rare in debates. 573 Doctor Mike Reply 17 replies @vangdavid2 @vangdavid2 3 days ago Dr. Mike, the medical system needs to acknowledge and educate patients on how proper diet and nutrition are a foundational piece to healing illness. Most Oncologist know very little about nutrition and will tell their patients to eat whatever they want. pizzas, burgers, all fine.. I was in the room when I heard those exact words my mother's oncologist. I applaud those doctors who take a holistic approach to illness. The key is to put out the fire. When people stop eating inflammatory foods (processed foods, artificial foods, junk foods, fast foods) inflammation decreases and the body can heal and function the way its supposed to. So to Rheumatologist, Oncologist, etc, anti-inflammatory foods should be foundational to every patient. 24 Reply 2 replies @loyisog4795 @loyisog4795 2 days ago This was a great conversation. Really well done 👏 1 Reply @akeledamagresham1421 @akeledamagresham1421 2 hours ago This is the very same man my health nut of an abusive father quotes like gospel. Even years before he found Dr. Gundry, it was the same tales and ideology my father preaches and forced upon me and my family, but me more-so. It was to the point where I developed eating disorders and felt no will to live from age nine onwards. I'm in my 20's now and I still struggle with my health and relationship to my body, but now at least I have the mental capacity to understand and make logical assumptions on my own. Sometimes I do slip up and cross the facts, but since I'm currently studying pharmacy (at the behest of my father, lol) and excelling in human health and physiology, I know better. I couldn't watch this video in it's total because of how triggered I kept getting, but I was able to watch a few clips and I greatly appreciated Dr. Mike and Dr. Belardo for everything. I'm used to people like Dr. Gundry being able to speak without argument, and watching actual facts being present in tandem was immensely satisfying. Maybe one day I'll be able to watch this whole video without feeling like I'm twelve again, holding back tears in front of my ranting, lecturing father. But until then, thank you. That's not because of a feeling in my gut. It's because I've always been the same way and I've learned to pick up on people's microexpressions. I'm way too trusting and almost everyone is unable to hide that immediate split-second reaction to things. So to save myself from the constant betrayal and manipulations I base my trust with strangers on this and their rep. Due to innumerable mistakes I've made befriending and trusting strangers. The only reason I put all this is because the older doctor gave me the exact opposite impression initially. I almost bought his prebiotic because he's a great salesmen but something seemed off. I can tell that Dr. Gundry truly believes his position and wants to help his patients as well as those who listen to him, but it's discussions like these that are effective in highlighting the flaws in one's arguments. Maybe Dr. Gundry don’t have a lot of subscribers, but I love watching his videos. If you watch even one of his short, you’ll understand more of what he’s trying to convey, that it’s okay to eat fruits but make sure it’s seasonal and organic (we know our crops and fruits are not the same, the GMO’s and pesticides and herbicides and some other stuff)… also the lectins are not good but he did give advice to soak it, wash it, peel and take out the seeds. Also his products are good, i love the Olive Oil and other products. I do not rely on dietary supplements alone, that’s why the are called “supplements” . Dr. Gundry’s health tips were helpful, for how many years in medical field… (he got more years of experience compared to these two) and he probably learned these amazing healthy habits from his patients success stories, experiences and also some studies. In this interview, he’s very professional answering questions and talking slowly explaining his points and not trying to disagree but still they don’t seem to understand the concept. P.S. I've heard, for instance, that a person with ulcerative colitis needs to avoid insoluble fiber when they're in the middle of a flare or while healing. Secondly, I thought the issue/concerns of fruit had to do with their glycemic index and whats happening with insulin levels and insulin resistance. Dr. Gundry was in no way saying to eat a candy bar, he was simply trying to make a point of how fruit can spike insulin levels as well. Thirdly, not all peer-reviewed studies are done correctly but pass anyway as science-based. Moreover, everyone's ability to detoxify from chemicals like glyphosate are different. If our detox pathways are compromised, why further the burden by adding things to the body that tax their ability to handle them. Auto immune diseases and autism are on the rise. It seems to be a combination of the American Standard Diet along with chemicals like glyphosate and scores of other man-made chemicals we're putting into our bodies. Also heavy metals. While I don't agree with everything the doctors say, especially in light of my own health journey, I feel some of Dr. Gundry's statements were misunderstood but can see how a patient could easily misunderstand them as well. All that said, i recently tried the olive oil that Dr. Gundry endorses, and for me it tastes terrible. I felt I had immediately been poisoned!😂 To each their own! She spent hundreds of dollars a month on bottles of all sorts of vitamins to “cure” any illness you could think of. She had a pain in her stomach area for about a year, and her natural doctor told her it was just stomach bile blockage. Fast forward a few more months, the pain got worse, unexplained weight loss, and it was diagnosed as pancreatic cancer when she finally went to a hospital for a CT scan. The scan showed at that point, it had grown too much for surgery. If you’re going to do the natural medicine route, please don’t dismiss your local hospital and see a certified physician when things don’t feel normal. 675 Reply 45 replies @steelC8101 @steelC8101 3 days ago Danielle bringing up authority bias is ironic considering many of her arguments were emphasised by stating what she thought her world leading expert colleague would say on the matter. It doesn’t seem like there’s a specific formula for longevity, but rather people who have evolved in a certain climate and environment have specific sets of genes that, if combined with a specific diet and lifestyle will lead to longevity. In short, what leads to a long life in Sardinia might be significantly different compared to what does in Japan, strictly because the nuances in gut flora, physiology of these two populations require specific environmental, dietary and lifestyle factors. From this view, looking at broad studies and anecdotes are both unhelpful in different ways… Reply @jmarkie1 @jmarkie1 2 days ago Our big questions now: how come Dr. Gundry became a doctor. They still have nutrients and are healthy. I eat them daily so I think he is saying the reason you should eat in season is because that apple or carrot was grown naturally and will contain more nutrients because the land it was grown in hasn’t been stripped of nutrients year after year due to intense farming of the land. I do see Mike’s argument though, Gundry’s statements could be misleading I think this is a misunderstanding but also new science meets old science. Is it fair to so heavily criticise someone with a lot of anecdotal evidence? Especially when your only counter argument is ‘we just don’t know scientifically’ yet? Nutrition only recently went through a huge revolution as it escaped the chains of the sugar industry that weaponised ‘scientific research’ to sell unhealthy food at scale, how do you know for sure we are clear of this corporatisation of medicine and nutrition? As the lady said - nutrition is a very difficult area for scientific study - surely this means anecdotal evidence is MORE valuable than in other fields. All he has is small number of anecdotal cases and he spews them in a debate like this as if they could be compared to clinical, controlled studies. And then he says things like "the data is there, look it up". Also I don't think he ever truly answered any of the questions. Almost all of his answered started with "For instance" or "Let me tell you a story" and then he talks about some anecdotal case that is tangentially related to the question. In short, he makes people believe he answered "yes I believe X" but leaves room to later say "i never said I believe X, i just told you about this case". At around 1:29:23 the whole debate hinges, I think he made a great case. 2 Reply 1 reply @TombstoneTube @TombstoneTube 4 days ago Gundry is a businessman Reply @infin1ty850 @infin1ty850 3 days ago It would be nice know wtf a blue zone is before it becomes a central topic of the conversation. 1 Reply @lizmiller3325 @lizmiller3325 3 days ago This is Doctor is dangerous thanks Dr. Mike for confronting him❤❤ Reply @MarkKlenk @MarkKlenk 3 weeks ago Watched more of this. I really appreciate the respectful discourse here. Kudos to Dr. Belardo for clarifying the need for a wide variety of evidence, not anecdotes. I have no doubt that Dr. Gundry has success with his patients, but I think he is doing a disservice to the overall population by generalizing and extremizing recommendations. 334 Doctor Mike Reply 7 replies @crollwtide9452 @crollwtide9452 5 hours ago (edited) There's another bit of silliness that I detect with the Hunza argument is that Dr. Gundy is referring to a primitive tribal society while the health problems discussed are prevalent in advanced civilizations that most likely rely upon large amounts of processed foods. It's an apples vs oranges type of argument. As far as the "eat fruits in season" things go...most likely, if it appears that fruits are eaten that way at all, it is probably circumstantial and nothing health-related to back up the behavior. Reply @Trash_panda_confused @Trash_panda_confused 3 days ago (edited) Okay I’m sorry but through this entire thing gundry cut her off and just seemed really disrespectful- especially the “UH- UM- UP- O-“ WHILE SHE WAS TRYING TO SPEAK. What made him think that’s an okay way to treat a professional when they’re talking about their field?? it really irked me but it also made me realize how respectful Mike was to her and how normal he treated her. We need more mike. 2 Reply @truthonly7699 @truthonly7699 3 days ago why do they keep attacking Gundry over fruit, he explained his position over and over and the young guy keeps going but why say fruit is bad, why, why????? like a little kid over an dover 4 Reply @Mijn3023 @Mijn3023 3 days ago Interesting. However, I see so much indoctrination in this video Dr Mike and the female guest to be always right and correct in their research. Medicine and health can be very complicated. But I think there’s a more common sense approach to this for the simple fact that there are smaller places all over the world whose health runs circles around us. And I’m saddened that he would rather treat a disease like diabetes first with drugs, and discounts the power of diet and lifestyle change. I came here very much on Dr. Mike’s side because of one ridiculous & inflammatory clip, but overall Dr. Mike and Dr. Bullardo (or whatever blondie’s name is) cand out looking like a-holes, cutting Dr. Gundry off every time he came close to making a point. I hope Dr. Mike develops a few autoimmune diseases so he can experience first hand how awful conventional treatments are, and how dismissive doctors are (though he won’t get the same condescending treatment that most of us endure.) 1 Reply @094640 @094640 3 days ago This conversation made me crave an apple Reply @gigixou @gigixou 3 weeks ago This woman knows her 💩 and love how she's calling out the bs and not shrinking back! 767 Doctor Mike Reply 15 replies @shaunh1725 @shaunh1725 4 days ago Also, Dr Gundry making fun of Dr Belardo stuttering at 39:45 was really mean. Saying grapes have the same sugar content as a Hershey bar, doesn't make me want to go eat a Hershey bar; it makes me want to avoid both! Hes not saying fruits all bad, just that there are better ways to get the polyphenols etc without the fructose. I thought the cocaine anecdote actually proved Dr. Gundry's point more. If you replaced "cocaine" with "fruit," it may work, but its not the method he would recommend. Also, it's frustrating hearing "I'm unwilling to test your theory, because no one else has tested your theory." 1 Reply @trueinthekitchen @trueinthekitchen 3 days ago It is scary to see someone who has narcissistic personality disorder become a successful and wildly influential health advisor.
