The truth is that MOST of our body inflammation and disease is caused by PLANT based foods and NOT animal based foods. Animal based food pathologies are introduced things like hormones, antibiotics and grain fed feed stocks. Plant lectin proteins found in all night shade family plants (not in most American's evolutionary context) and legumes are highly inflammatory to the gut. Glutens etc too. These can be mitigated with proper preparation - seeding and peeling or pressure cooking. But the truth is many plants contrary to popular wishful thinking do not want us eating their genetic offspring (their seeds) in most cases (except certain fruits that want us to eat the fruit outer shel and dispose of the seeds away from parents so their offspring don't compete for sunlight). The plants developed powerful neural toxins to kill insects and insects came long before humans did. GMO and hybrid foods have worsened the situation by amplifying these toxins to increase crop yield due to attrition from insects and fungi etc.. To make it worse we have increased sugar concentrations of fruits which is the mother lode of all metabolic disease - high concentrations of fructose (esp processed and concentrated in juices by destructuring the substrate - de-fiber) . The fructose is only supposed to be available in natural quantities in a few summer months to fatten us up for the long food-spare winter. We are designed to eat infrequently and to live most of the time on stored body fat (lipids and ketone bodies). All the mental health problems like Alzheimer, dementia, epilepsy are rooted in high glucose and insulin responses invoking reactive inflammation - brain rot . The key thing is WHOLE FOODS that have proper nutrients, structure and minimal processing with no toxins or overly crossbred or genetically modified outside of our evolutionary experience base. This solves 85% of nutrition based diseases and that is most human disease. Avoid processed foods - anything in a box or package or container will pretty much kill you - especially sugar spiked foods (designed to addict you to product) and fake industrial oils like Canola and high omega-6 oils. Olive Oil and natural oils are essential medicine for us when unable to get proper ratios from animal meats and fish in particular.
