FAT tells the far-fetched but completely true history of how our country became so unhealthy. In 1970, just over 1.5 million people had been diagnosed with Diabetes in the United States. Now over 30 million have Diabetes. What's even more alarming is that 100 million people, 1 in 3, have Diabetes or are Pre-Diabetic. This is not to mention the 40% of t …

I was on my way to getting the pre-diabetic talk as I was way out of shape and felt like sh8t all the time. I made the change to keto with intermittent(OMAD) fasting and within 5 months I was down 9 inches/22.86 cm around my mid-section and felt amazing. My co-workers were asking me if I was sick with Cancer or had an eating disorder. I said "yes I was sick and am in the process of cleaning myself up". There's no reason for us to be in a constant fed state. It's like putting dirty gas into your gas tank, when the engine blows you wonder what happened, when you do the same to your body you blow the engine(heart) MI or the CPU with dirty information ending up with a CVA(stroke). We all need to wake up and fix ourselves or we become more of an asset to big pharma and the food industry as a fat and sick population.
Good luck to all in your "cleansing" journey

I am thankful that my doctors have been supportive of low carb diets. Maybe they didn't get much training on nutrition in school, but it is apparent they watch videos, read books and listen to their patient's successes.
Thank you so much for posting this informative video.

In 2019 I discovered Intermittent Fasting and the Low Carb Diet. It took about a year, but I went from Obese Level 2 to normal weight, my health improved and all my blood test marks went from bad to normal. When my Doctor saw me after the change, she asked how I did it. I described Intermittent Fasting and the Low Carb Diet, but her reaction was to try to convince me to switch back to a Low Far/High Carb Diet. Wow, the very Diet that had made me fat and sick, she wanted me to return to. I don't think she ment anything bad for me, but it showed how the Medical Profession is filled with bad information.

I think its time to focus on what we agree on, not where we differ. When we have gotten rid of fast food, processed food and high sugar drinks we can debate whether oatmeal is good for you or how much meat or fruit is wise. I feel like health is paralyzed by what we disagree on, but we could make a big difference focusing on homemade meals made from single ingredients like our grandmothers made. My health has improved a lot by just shopping the outside of the grocery store and not buying anything that comes in a box/bag. My labels contain one ingredient, maybe two. Let’s start with the common sense stuff. For people with chronic illness (including diabetes and obesity), recommending elimination diets so they can track what worsens their signs and symptoms can be helpful.

After I started low carb I saw a dietician who also practises in a Sydney hospital and she told me that I wasn't eating enough carbs. She told me that I would lose muscle. I was surprised when she told me that it was okay to have muesli/oats for breakfast. After the appointment I did more research and decided to stick with what I was doing, and cancelled the second appointment. It was with great pleasure that I contacted her after getting my 3 month post low carb blood results and told her that Hba1c was down to 5.2 from 7.0, BP had reduced, I had lost 1/8th of my body weight (without trying, no fasting - 3 meals a day, only gentle exercises and stretching for all over body strengthening) and my cholesterol had improved. After 8 months I have now lost 4.5 inches from my waist (no cheating - I push it out to its maximum) which had been 44 inches. And I've started losing more weight. I noticed the other morning that my feet and ankles are thinner, and I can now touch my hands (top to bottom) behind my back. I have to buy new underwear because what I bought last year are now falling off me!

I've been eating a high fat low carb diet for 5 months now and I feel great. I've always been fairly thin but eating this way has helped with other issues I've had. My acne cleared up and my eczema doesn't flare up as much. I've notice that too much dairy and stress makes my skin flare up, but it clears up within days. In comparison with a high carb/ sugary & low fat diet my acne was bad, my eczema would get worse, and my face was always bloated. Plus, I would fall into a food coma every time I ate, and I would snack constantly, I was never satiated. Now, I eat whole foods, plenty of fat and fatty meats plus green veggies. I limit my fruit intake but do consume a moderate amount of berries. I am not strict because I like sugar once in a while. I give into my cravings but not in excess. I've also notice if I consume carbs or any type of process sugar in large quantity my body reacts in a negative way. I really enjoy this way of eating because I feel my best!

I was pre-diabetic on my way to start taking medication which I refused. I did my research and I was already familiar with the Keto diet I did not know it had the potential of reversing diabetes. I also have started doing intermittent fasting which has it's great benefits as well. My brother is a type 1 diabetic and every time I can possibly can I keep telling him to stop eating carbs or reduce his intake. Also for my niece to stop eating so much junk/fast food since diabetes runs in our family. It shocked me when he told me he isn't worry about her because his doctor told him type 2 diabetes only develops after age 40!!! I know this is not true since we are seeing it in younger kids every day. It is amazing how irresponsible some doctors can be , your health is in your hands and in your hands only.

The sad part? It seems like no matter where you live, that way of eating is killing millions around the world. I'm from Dominican Republic and here we don't have statistics about anything but there are wings on hospitals for diabetics so that should tell something. I've been in the "stop eating crap" movement for a year, hipertension, joint and head haches, really bad skin, 220+ pounds on a 5'3" woman, tiredness, depression and no nice clothes to fit my body. I started to make changes, stopped eating crap and started fasting, my health is now better than ever and I look better too, it's just too good to be true. I just say the same thing to everyone like a broken record: stop the sugar, crackers, bread, seed oils and all it's combinations. If it comes in a package with a list of ingredient is not food, don't eat that.
Ansel Keys has destroyed more human lives than we can count. All over the world.

The Charlie Abrams story is ASTOUNDING…it should be shouted from the mountain tops and yet celebrity fitness trainers today say the ketogenic diet is dangerous…just like that panel Gary Taubes was on. I can’t believe the woman from the American Heart Association said that children eating ketogenic diets would lose their minds! That’s astounding too. I lived thru the low fat 80’s and 90’s, my dad had triple bypass surgery at age 50 and my mother switched our diet to all the cardboard tasting lo-fat crap. They lived into their 90’s but he ended up crippled from neuropathy for the last 10 years in his feet from the statins he was on for 40 years yet no one can figure out where that came from. They believe everything their doctors say and did took every med their doctors dolled out. They live on medications for everything from high blood pressure to blood thinners to sleeping pills. Both have dementia now. It’s just really sad when you think about it and yet thank goodness for the grassroots efforts the makers of these documentaries and regular people who’s lives have been transformed by the ketogenic and carnivore diet are making by telling their stories.

Last year I was looking at a lot of documentaries, left and right. After that, I watched this one again (and watched part 2). It is superb made. I am missing one thing. The fats from plants are not always the best. But we got a lot of people to feed. A lot of meat and dairy comes from sick animals because they're ill treated and getting a lot of crap to eat. Sick animals give 'sick' making foods. Could be a part 3?

What a huge effort to produce this documentary. Many thanks.
In the end it's pretty easy to explain: as humans we are not designed to deal with an excess of food, regardless of whether it's fat, carbohydrates or proteins. So take a break from eating.

I was diagnosed with diabetes last year, blood tests were horrible.
I switched to a 90% fruit and vegetable diet with a bit of lean meat for dinner. Most of fat only came from almonds, walnuts, nuts and seeds.
Last visit my doctor was on vacation so another doctor looked at my latest blood tests and asked me what I was on metformin and rosuvastatin for? "You don't have diabetes or high cholesterol" I had to tell him to look at my former tests.

Thank you for making this documentary. I am also faced with adversity with my child being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and our NHS dietician shutting me down when I am against the recommended allowance of carbohydrate in the British Well Eating guide. It is nearly 50% of a meal's plate that is recommended, pasta, grains, breads, potatoes. I cannot believe what I am hearing and seeing. My son does not want to inject himself with insulin just so he can eat those foods. He has made the decision to inject himself with insulin when necessary. At the moment I can't get him on a totally low carb diet because I am being told that is not sustainable. I am being told it isn't good to do that. But I do my best to educate him. I do my best to offer foods that are low in carbohydrates and highly nutritious. We have cut sugary treats to nothing, we have cut high carbohydrate snacks to nothing. And the frequency of eating has been cut as well due to cutting the carbs and decreasing the craving for those foods, decreasing the feeling of needing to eat every four hours. I just want the best for him. I am hearing that his antibodies test came back negative. Meaning that he is most likely a type 2 diabetic. I am feeling like there is hope. That we can reverse this disease.

It seems like I've always been aware of a "healthy" diet but, this and other YouTube sources have really brought home the reality of the Ketogenic diet and lifestyle. Thank you!
I like to put our modern diet into the context of what life was like on the Savanah. The hunters would only eat what they could kill because they knew it was "safe". Contrast that with coming upon a bush full of red berries or ripe figs; the animals are eating them but, can we eat them? Let's stay with what we know and harvest another gazelle or impala.
Bottom line: Every trip to the supermarket I look at what's on the shelf and think: "I would not feed this "food" to a hog much less my children."
Cheers

Seems like one of the biggest problems our country faces is admitting when we were wrong. I can't believe I was such a slave to the previous mentality. To the question why the doctor had not proposed a keto diet for the epileptic child, he says: "Because we had not tried all medications yet". What??? I am in shock! Isn't nutrition and diet the first thing you would try? Isn't it the least dangerous option with the least side effects instead of medications and operations?

I believe that human race thrived through being omnivorous and learning how to adopt in different and variant dietary conditions. This is what made us who we are. Food is something more than an occasional trend. It' s something that brings us together. Through the process of sharing food with loved ones or just enjoying a well cooked meal by ourselves we learn how to listen to our needs both emotionally and physically. Let' s return to those plain, love-made meals full of nutritious and fresh ingredients that would help us better ourselves and our lives. Let's just boycott big corps and capitalism in any form. We don't need their poisonous attribution in order to find balance and be healthy and happy. Consume responsibly taking into account both other people's wellbeing as well as the natural and environmental consequences of our choises. It' s not thata difficult.

This is the second documentary I watched about American „diet culture“. One was about Whole Food Plant Based Diet (high carb and low fat diet) and this one about Ketogenic diet. Both do have good tendencies and results as far as curing diabetes, high blood pressure aso. There are probably more diets with a lot of benefits but which to chose? There is no „one fits all“ approach. But it is really sad to see that the government pushes getting money over the health of their people. I am German and I can also remember a health pyramid but it was not pushed to this extend. Really sad.

Not sure the type of food you eat has anything to do with heart disease but I believe that timed eating/fasting is the way to good health and we all should be eating small portions and less calories. I also belive that insulin resistance is what leads to obesity and a lot of the diseases of old age.

I ate all the junk, did not read labels, ate soybean oils, canola oils, sugars, a ton of veggies (stir fried in the mentioned oils), potato chips of all varieties, you name it. Today, I weigh 200 lbs...down 45 pounds on a combination of Keto and Carnivore. I don't consult with doctors because they are quacks and are quick to prescribe medicines. Food is the ultimate medicine in conjunction with exercise. STOP eating the ultra-processed junk, eat MEAT and cut carbs and you WILL feel better!

When you watch old black and white movies, those skinny people were eating butter and drinking full fat milk - especially their kids. (It was probably more grass-fed too?) They ate a portion of meat. They ate mostly whole grains in breads and crackers, the bleached alternatives were just starting to appear. They ate fruits and vegetables, including potatoes. When they did drink juice in the morning it was in a small “juice glass.” They were just starting to add the processed foods to the stores. Fast food restaurants were just getting started. People drank soda pop as an occasional treat, not daily, and certainly not with every meal. They ate reasonable portions at meals. Snacks were a treat, not a way of life. I believe the diet mentality started appearing more at that time too, but nothing like now. People need to be reasonable about food. No food eaten in moderation that’s from its natural source (the earth) is “bad”. Processed food (not food that has just been blended and/or cooked, but food that has had its structure altered) is bad. They take nutrients out of food and then re-add nutrients. Does that make sense to you?
Sure, people who are overweight can lose weight on Keto. Fasting can be helpful too. But to be reasonable: you don’t 100% cut out any food that you have available, you’re not allergic to and that’s basically in its natural state. You just eat it in moderation. There’s a wide variety of natural food on earth, with a wide variety of nutritional value, not to mention flavors that enhance life.
God created food for our enjoyment and health. Mankind is ruining it by altering it, and polluting it.

Ironically if we want extraordinary health, we have to eat in the way that the majority would deem as dangerous. The peer pressure is real. Especially the kind of peer pressure formed by multiple decades of medical dogma. My response to that is I want extraordinary health and that’s why I am eating extraordinarily cus I don’t wanna fit in and be fat and sick like the majority of the population so the big pharma’s stock prices would go up a point of two!

It's so hard to be sugar free when they stuff it in everything. It pretty much means you gotta cook just about everything. No rolls when you go out to eat. Sugar and carbs there. Plus, I'm a musician by trade and traveling and eating well is even harder. I wonder about sourdough bread, but it has the word bread in it. I finally quit mountain dew, and I work out several times a week (martial arts) but I'm still heavier than I wanna be and my energy level is low. I'm cautious about starting a diet like this but this presentation is very persuasive.

When this film discusses how much training in nutrition doctors get in medical school it is absolutely true. I have worked in the medical field for over 35 years and have had many discussions with many doctors that I trust and respect over the years. The average doctor has had about 3 hours of training in medical school on nutrition and nothing on the use of herbal therapy or homeopathic or holistic medicine.
I am a physical therapist by training. A great friend who is a Dr. and has written 3 best selling books on nutrition and is a world renowned cardiac surgeon learned everything he knows because he was very intrigued about the other health issues, especially that the patients he was doing heart surgery on had. Most of these issues originated in the digestive system (the gut). He learned about nutrition because he decided he had to. He told me once that the pharmaceutical companies are so ingrained in the medical schools due to huge donations and that they even provide some of the instructors for the programs who push the use of medicines approach on students. This is what they learn. Most Drs. will not speak out publicly about it because they do not want to be a target of these industries. These programs are run by the pharmaceutical indue stirs just like the food manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies run the FDA. It will be very hard to change much of the information because these deep pocket companies are very entrenched into these agencies and institutions.
As far as discussing diet with most Drs. you might as well be talking about it with your neighbor. They would rather write you a prescription. You need to educate yourself. Some MDs are in the know and are willing to try things other than medications for their patients but you have to find them.
Thank you for this incredible film! It is 100% right on.

These two documentaries have given us insight into space travel for human beings. For humans to travel beyond the earth, a special diet consisting of all necessary nutrients, proteins and fats, reduced to a compact form will be need to be created. These specially engineered meals will allow people to maintain excellent health for extended periods of time. The trip to Mars which will take many months, will also further enhance our understanding of how to feed the human body & mind so that it will be healthy and in peak condition. It would be a disaster if astronauts get obese and from suffer related illnesses such as T2D, HBP etc by the time they reach Mars.

I did a 91 hr water fast (distilled water at that) and an occasional black coffee. Went from 225lbs to 211.4lbs (loss of 14lbs)!! The 2nd day of that water fast it was like my body unloaded all the crAp in my body. I didn't stop p00ping all that 2nd day. Now I want to try the Carnivore diet, but meats/eggs are out of sight expensive. Any suggestions? I bought some shrimp and no sugar infused bacon and it was almost $30! YIKES. This vid is so inspiring. I have hbp and cholesterol, but I do walk/jog 5 miles and swim a mile 5 times a week for most of the year. What I do like about water fasting is that it's sooo cheap and you're never in the kitchen (no stress).

Reading the comments and arguments of opinions by those who have not done Keto or Carnivore more than 30 days are so incredibly uninformed it’s not even funny.
I personally reached my optimal and proportion size and weight as a Carnivore and I’m maintaining and gaining muscle at the age of 60.
I’m able to maintain it by burning all the fat I consume as natural and even burning mitochondrial energy 🔥, utilizing the glucose that my body naturally makes from my fat intake WITHOUT spiking my insulin levels like carbs do.
Adding ANY carb consumption to the mix interferes with the mitochondria’s uptake of more evenly burned FAT energy. Carbs are absolutely obstructive and counter-productive!
Meat consumption should be viewed as the dietary conduit for us to maintain proportional body mass. Meat intake should be upped if you want to make workout gains.
I’m all Meat 🥩, Fats, water and Salt. What people keep getting confused is their insane rationalizations around Carbs and their additions to food culture.
Bottom line is that FAT is our friend because FAT is our principle energy source that evenly feeds our mitochondria that keeps our cells energized and working properly.
EMPTY CARBS, consumed as sugars or plants are simply the foreign invaders that were NOT regularly consumed in the human diet for millions of years until humans recently incorporated it into the food culture very near the backside of our existence.
Fats and Meat = GOOD
Plants and Carbs = BAD
And if you want to maintain body MUSCLE MASS you simply up your meat intake and freaking at least use and move your body every way you can every day and try to gradually make gains, even if slowly a little each day.
- Use it or lose it.
- A body in motion stays in motion.
You want to reward your physical activity and workout efforts by feeding your muscles more of what it’s made out of… MEAT!
I’ve deeply studied the Carnivore Diet after discovering it and after it literally transformed my life.
I dug in hard to understand it. I want my remaining years to be vital and I want to be as educated and efficient with my health as I can.
Carbs and plant food toxins are to be avoided like poison. It was never supposed to be a regular staple in the human diet.
I’m not just speaking experientially, but also from data-supported science and paleontology.
I deep-dove endless opinions & counter-opinions. But opinions are nothing without empirical data to support it.
I follow the data from the best and most astutely-informed doctors, physiologists, and medical analysts across the internet (globe).

I assure you doctors won’t give it to you so then you should do listen to your own body. Don’t listen to anyone especially those who make money of you and your health, or more unhealthy lifestyle. Stay calm and enjoy

The Randle cycle may help you make sense of the root of metabolic problems. Fats and carbohydrates are not so compatible and if someone told me I have to decide to choose between those two I can give up on Carbs since you think about how unappetizing would those starches be without the fats. Just food for thought. No essential carbs but there are essential fats and proteins from animal sources mostly.

I quit eating sugar (sweets and added sugars) 12 days ago and already lost 8lbs. Sugar causes heart disease. That was my motivation. Any physician will tell you that diabetes is a "coronary artery disease equivalent." Meaning if you get diagnosed with diabetes, they will assume you also have coronary disease even if you don't know it yet. Diabetes is a disease of high blood glucose. Sugar is the root of the problem with both diabetes AND coronary artery disease. Quit sugar, reduce your risks of getting these diseases. It's pretty simple. Sugar is unnatural and unnecessary for human life. Eat it on your birthday or one or two other occasions each year, but outside of that, avoid it like the plague.

People who switch to a healthy keto diet can improve their health; but so can people who switch to a wholefoods plant-based diet. In both cases they eliminate sugars and refined and processed foods. THAT is why they become healthier. Carbs are not the culprit. It's certain TYPES of carbs that cause problems, like white flours and esp. those grown with toxic fertilizers. Very many people on healthy vegan diets attest to long, healthy lives. Keto might be the answer to certain conditions, like diabetes, but it's not recommended for everyone, esp. long term.

First we have the problem of smoking, then we have the problem of diet for making people healthy which went completely upside down with the likes of the Seventh Day Adventists trying to change the diet of the people way back when. And now, they're doing it again with bringing soy from Asia to the West and planting it all the fields everywhere in North and South America and blaming the cattle for it's growth. When in fact the beans are the reason it's grown here and it's now in all the foods in the supermarket and even in our medicines as fillers and oils.
Some may be used for animals but not the beans I suspect. Only what's left. Only what human beings won't consume. The poor animals are lumbered with the crap when they should be eating grass.
Now were up to the final problem of the human race, at least so far:
There is so much grain and beans grown around the world now that there's an industrial campaign out for the vegan market. Cereals are not enough to sell this junk so now they have to turn it into cheeses and meats to cover the cost of the massive machines they build to farm these enormous fields. It's all they can do, how else are they going to pay for their million dollar machines?

Our government…everything from the department of agriculture to big Pharma even some of our medical doctors even though my doctor is not one of them….. he’s going to have to retire at some point lol . He’s in his late 60s but on the whole there are more and more of these corporations and or organizations who are not for public health. They are for profit! A healthy individual is of no use to them, their revenue and their stockholders. I could go on and on. It’s up to us as an individual to research and learn and sift through and decide what is best for our health and longevity and health of our children and the generations below us.

Funny how this video talks about the evils of simple sugars, which is justified, but it overlooks the relationship between lipids (fats) and glycogens (sugars) in the blood and cells. Fat-saturation is achieved in many keto dieters within 6 mo - 2 years, after which their health markers start getting worse again. This is because of fat saturation which prevents insulin from putting the sugar in the cells (insulin resistance).

What is the high fat portion? Everyone of the places you look want to suggest that you lower your carbs to ~20g but when it comes to high fat... nothing that sates a suggestion of how many grams but gives you an enormous range of protein to eat based on if you’re man or woman, based on weight... but not one damn thing about how much fat and don’t even start with the damn percentages because that puts you into looking at the amount of calories you consume! AND who in the HELL figures out the food they eat based on percentages or a pie plate picture of your plate and “eat half your plate in vegetables “ 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

I have a younger brother now 65 who I advised go on a low carb diet to control his type 2. And it controlled it very well. He had a CAC (calcium heart scan) at about that time and his score was 170. After four years low carb he had another CAC done and it was a bit over 400. His conclusion was he wasn't low carb enough. He started doing Keto for the next three years. Two year ago he decided Carnivore was the real key to health. His score one year ago after three years of keto and two of Carnivore was 743. His A1C was still terrific at 5.2. Six months ago he had seven stents placed in his heart because he was having chest pains walking to and from his mailbox. You want to believe high fat is healthy go right ahead. The reality is real research scientist have done hundreds of studies and have come to the same conclusion. Saturated fat and fat in general isn't healthy for the heart.

This documentary is quick to point out where the government went wrong - and these are all good points - but fails to point out the role of multinational corporations in all this. Is it really a coincidence that these companies created a global food system based on maximum profit using the cheapest possible ingredients, and then used the mind-boggling profits to buy government influence? Is it a coincidence that lobbyists dominate food policy? Is it coincidence that the US has no regulations on marketing to children? How about our lack of legislation on factuality in advertising? I could go on for ten pages.
And without all that, we only have half the story.

Low carb sounds disgusting compared to whole grains and lentils. Rather just eat that. Promoting one diet is a little too questionable for me. I think food quality and food quantity along with consistency and food variety is important, not just carbs. Since we're doing anecdotes, I have energy throughout the day and I feel great. I reduce processed foods and mostly cook my own foods. Plenty of people succeeded with variety of diets. I'll still listen to nutritionists that aren't biased and have plenty of experience in nutritional science.

The presentation of the Inuit diet is disingenuous at best. Yes, their diet requires a lot of fat because they live in a place that is so cold they're burning that fat just to keep warm, but what is completely ignored in the documentary is that during the warmer months they still consume vegetables that grow there. Not well researched.

This video is not helpful unless the goal is to get even more confused. The research is extremely clear.
(The below examples assume you don't smoke, engage in heavy steroid use, heavy drinking or heavy drug use and you engage in a moderate level of exercise)
If you eat a mostly plant based diet (less than 20% animal products), supplement for Vitamin Bs, Omega 3s and K2, and limit the crappy processed carbs to a minimum, you have a good chance of living from 90-100 or more.
If you cut out the crappy carbs and and eat higher levels of animal products you're probably going to live to 80-85.
If you go full vegan, but eat crappy carbs and don't supplement for Vitamin B, Omega 3s and K2, you'll live to be around 75-80
That's the data. It's been replicated many many times. Could there be genetic differences that mean your biology might not conform to the average? Possible, do you want to gamble on that?
Also, it's important to note that Keto diets can have some very good short term results, but those benefits will likely reverse themselves into other problems when stretched out to a longer term diet.

Diets seem like an overanalyzed obsession. The only recommendation I’ve found actually has a useful effect is increasing protein percentage while trying to gain muscle mass with weight training.

I am confused as hell.
Ok it's agreed, sugar is bad.
But isn't it better to eat fish and vegetables, with a little fruit, than meat?
And what about the quality of meat. Isn't it better to eat no meat at all than low quality meat?
And where does dairy (cream/cheese) sit in this??
And then what about all the healthy raw vegans?
In a book by James Clement et al, called Switch, he outlines how people who are historically coastal need fish. People with inland ancestry need meat.
This movie doesn't even mention this. I'm even more confused after this. I understand the media is irresponsible about health advice, and the medical/pharma industry is financially motivated. But what's the real advice?
I have a coastal ancestry and feel sick when I eat meat.

Eating diets like Keto, Atkins, Carnivore etc that focus on meat, fish, eggs or dairy only show short terms results (by results read: weight loss, because that's usually the reason why people embark on any diet). The fact is that long term these diets promote heart disease, diabetes, various cancers, brain disease like dementia amongst many others.
On the other hand a whole food plant based diet is the only diet proven to not only reduce the chances of these diseases, but in many cases to actually reverse them.
The opening scenes claiming that Innuits are to be emulated is ridiculous, namely since they die so early, usually of the list of diseases above, and usually heart disease. And the keto fad crowd's claim that it's rather the more recent adoption of a Westerm type diet with junk food that's responsible for the disease and deaths is debunked by the very well preserved mummified ancient Innuits by the frozen ice in the Arctic, which were so well preserved that modern autopsies could be performed revealing they all had very advanced heart disease and arterial plaque deposits, with none of them surviving to what we consider old age.

57:30 A THREE-day diet! Wow! That's so completely anecdotal and absolutely useless to show the true results of the keto diet!
And then you conclude the summation of the McGovern Committee, claiming that there was never any change, but you gloss over the fact that the ORIGINAL report was altered because the food industry didn't like meat, eggs and milk being maligned, and THAT is how fat became the villain - big industry power!
59:09 You couldn't get fruit and vegetables year round? Where'd you live, the Arctic? In my entire 56 years, I never saw a winter where fruits and vegetables weren't available. Good lord - stop the lies!
Why don't you mention what Pekka Puska et al and the Finnish government did to reduce heart disease there when they had the most incidences of it? Why don't you mention that they did a study in one part of Finland, N. Carelia (sic?), where they worked with the wives to alter the diets of the men, who were dying young of heart disease despite being outwardly very healthy and strong? Why don't you tell the audience that they used Canola (Canada Oil Low Acid) to replace butter, cut down on meat and cheese, and the pilot program was so successful that Finland nationalized the program and got off the top of the list???

I completely reversed type 2 diabetes on the carnivore diet but I'm not going to tell you that you should do that. The difference in me and a militant vegan is that it's not an ideology or a cult mentality with me. I'm not going to scream at you for eating broccoli.

Every person has 1 of 4 different metabolic dominances. That means some people must eat lots of animal protien and others that would do best to on a vegetarian diet. Metabolic dominance can easily be determined by kinesiology, musclue testing. Everyone wants to push one diet into everyones mouth.

Great video - thank you.
I followed Westman's teachings while on keto for 4 years, then graduated to full carnivore for the last 2 years (except for some dark chocolate and in shell pistachios). At 63 years, I feel more energetic and mindful now than ever before.
Birthday cakes along with ice cream and sodas are all slowly killing people. I don't understand why health insurance companies don't try to educate people about this and try to save $$$ from insurance claims....I just don't get it.
And Halloween is a nightmare with all that sugar !!

I think it is important to distinguish between sugar (half fructose and half glucose) and carbohydrates from starch which are broken down into mostly glucose. Our bodies have dealt with glucose from starch and the mechanisms to do so are well developed from 10,000 years for those of us that have had an agricultural diet for this length of time. What we don't have is epigenetic adaptation to eating large amounts of fructose, particularly in HFCS and even modern fruits that have been bred to be higher in sugar generally. Fructose cannot be used directly for energy and so gets sequestered into the liver where it causes havoc via cytokines, inflammation and fat storage (hence NAFLD). Kids as young as 10 in the US are needing liver transplants from the consumption of HFCS-sweetened sodas (Prof Tasman-Jones, NZ). Fructose is also more highly reactive in forming the fructose equivalent of AGEs (possibly 6 times higher than glucose - we just don't measure fructosylated haemoglobin any more) And just BTW Prof Ray Peat also believes that sugar is not an issue (I disagree but still hold him in high regard on other dietary and health issues). Nothing is as simple as is made out. Last liitle comment is glucose can be made from triglycerides via the the glycerol backbone as well as protein gluconeogenesis. This is important in brain metabolism when doing keto.

There is a reason we are as sentient as we are. We are individually unique and so is our nutritional needs. With humans, there CANNOT be a “one size fits all” approach to eating 🤦🏿♂️. Special thing bout our bodies, if you DO NOT need something, or consume too little/much, it’ll for damn sure let you know if you listen.

I have to argue with the statement “of course there can be healthy vegans, the question is for how long?” To me this is a false statement because if they are truly healthy they will stay that way. But, we know this doesn’t happen. Therefore their bodies are in the stages of becoming unhealthy being vegan abs the outward or inward signs just aren’t evident yet. It doesn’t mean they “are” healthy as a vegan it just means their bodies are able to compensate right now to not show what’s going on and what needs to be fixed.

isn't amazing and truly horrific that companies are allowed, and actually enabled, to lie to and cheat there customers simply to exhort money out of them? For example; within the first three minuets of this film I have seen TWO adverts for "Ecofuse" a devise that claims to reduce fuel consumption in cars but is actually nothing more than a LED bulb in a plastic box. Q, Why are Youtube (and the government for that matter) allowing this company to advertise this con ? A, Money of course.

When I see this stuff, the first thing that I ask is "who is paying for this?" The vegan videos, the vegetarian videos, the paleo, the pescatarian, etc.. they are all funded by some organization. This video is no different. I'm guessing (only guessing, that the meat industry has their hands in this). We all know that eating strictly vegetables and fruits will make us healthier and possibly extend our lives. It's just not sustainable. That's why vegans eat Impossible Whoppers. I certainly believe in science. But most of science, is just that. I can't see it; I just need to believe. What I can see is the centenarians. In Sardinia, Greece, Okinawa; they live to be 100 plus. They all eat a WHOLE diet. Nothing that is processed. They eat mostly vegetables and fruit but also incorporate meats and dairy. The thing is that it's all whole. Now that's proven. Not hocus pocus.

Eat primal, we’ve been around a long time and our bodies were meant to go long periods without food(fasting) and time restricted eating when we could find food mainly seasonal fruits, tubers, nuts and meats when available. It’s only until recent history has out “diets” have made our Health go haywire with the introduction of processed foods which mostly include the deadliest drug of all. Sugar.

This is a one hour and twenty minute infomercial, full of misrepresentations. I assume funded by the meat industry.--- Added several days later, regarding high meat consumption: I might add that the Intuit people have a genetic adaptation that prevents them from going into ketosis. If ketosis is so important aka the Atkins/Paleo diet then why is not going into ketosis helpful to the Inuit?

Keto diet, vegan diet whatever are diets for the wealthy. Ima single middle aged woman on low income. In the uk vegetables and meat are really expensive where as bread and can food is pennies. It’s all well telling people what to eat but it has to be made available to all not just those with money. There needs to be a levelling up. Then you may soleve the obesity crisis and diabetes crisis. Don’t you think we would all love to eat well, we are not stupid.

Lot of quackery going on in this "documentary". It doesn't always have to be one extreme or another. It doesn't have to be Keto or veganism. If you want to be healthy eat a minimally processed balanced diet that is the proper amount of calories. Also, lift weights and do your cardio. It's not rocket science and it doesn't have to be made so complex.

They keep using ‘vegan’ as if vegan is a diet first? A vegan diet can be Oreos and crisps.
Use the term ‘plant based diet’ or ‘plant exclusive diet’ perhaps?
A vegan diet, by definition, is not necessarily healthy. Who can be vegan and eat entirely processed foods.

"Type 2 runs in my family so there's nothing I can do about it", said my ex. He ended up getting diagnosed a few years later and did next to nothing about it. Never once did I see him test his blood sugar. He ended up passing just a few years later at only 58. Utterly heartbreaking. I told him it could be stopped/reversed. He ignored me. I wish he had listened! How many others out there say the same thing he did?

To everyone questioning the video, let me offer some perspective;
When I was in my mid 20's, I began encountering many stressors in my life which exacerbated a very benign condition called ectopic heartbeats - skipped heartbeats. Knowing my grandpa passed away from heart disease, I began searching frantically for ways to prevent the disease in my own body. I was TERRIFIED of having a heart attack. When I looked up the mainstream dietary recommendations for preventing heart disease in 2013, I encountered dozens of websites saying ditch the animal foods, stay away from fats, only use olive oil, eat lots of whole grains, vegetables, and fruits. So, I stopped drinking milk (which I never had issues with) ditched most animal foods, started making lots of potato soups and rice stir fry's, and began making my own 100% whole wheat bread that I would literally grind myself. I also began drinking huge green shakes full of bananas, berries, kale, oats, almond milk, and various vegan protein powders.
Within days, my stomach began swelling up and I started feeling unwell. Acid reflux was not only a daily occurrence, but seemed to go on for hours and hours. The number on the scale began to climb, and even my wife began gaining weight, but I stayed the course because I was absolutely convinced what I was doing would make me healthy. "Maybe I just need to give my body time to adjust" I thought.
Over the several years that followed, I developed eosinophilic esophagitis to which the doctors proscribed a daily PPI for the foreseeable future because, "You don't really need stomach acid"
I gained 50 pounds even though most days I only ate a big bowl of oatmeal made with old fashioned oats, a bit of almond milk, a handful of frozen berries or a very ripe banana, and a few tbsp of ground flaxseed; and snacked on apples, celery, and carrots the rest of the day. I didn't have any stomach acid so these foods would literally sit in my stomach until I slept it off that night. Meanwhile my energy levels began to dip, I began experiencing blood sugar drops in the afternoons, and no matter how hard I worked out I couldn't lose any of the weight I'd gained. I tried multiple times to get off the PPI's, but the more I tried, the worse my reflux got. I just couldn't function without the drugs. I looked into the standard "acid reducing" diet and found countless recommendations for MORE oats, MORE grains, LESS fat, which I did to no avail.
When the pandemic hit, I began working from home and had full access to my kitchen instead of the fridge and microwave in the work breakroom. I thought to myself, "This is my chance! Maybe now I can finally get healthy and figure out how to get off my PPI's... but what should I eat instead of oatmeal everyday? Shouldn't I keep doing that to be heart attack proof?"
That's when I decided to try something different. Instead of my daily oatmeal, I decided to just fry up some spinach (which I'd never done before) and eat a few soft boiled eggs. I thought to myself, "I've been really good on my diet... a few eggs shouldn't hurt me, right?" I ate this way for one week and... my acid reflux began to dissipate.
But... how can that be?? Isn't fat, especially saturated fat the main cause of acid reflux? Yet here I was eating eggs and actually feeling a bit better.
That's when I began actually researching nutrition. I began looking up the health benefits of fat instead of the Dr. Esselstyne fat phobic approach. I went back and forth many times and yoyoed back and forth with my medication. I was very confused... one side told me fats and animal proteins were a death sentence, the other side was telling me carbs and sugars were the problem. Who was I supposed to believe? My anxiety around the topic only got worse. I began feeling paranoid and depressed. I felt sick and weak, yet when I would eat animal foods I would feel better... but WHY??
That's when I found Dr. Mark Hyman. At first, his approach seemed so foreign to me - healthy fats?? Was he CRAZY?? But I slowly began ditching the grains, brought back my beloved cow milk, and yes even butter and bacon... you know what happened? My acid reflux got better and better and better. After meeting with a functional medicine practitioner for the first time, I was given an anti inflammatory protein powder and ditched all the medications I was on for good. I also found a nutritionist online who cured her EoE by following the 4 pillars of the human diet as taught by Dr. Cate Shanahan in her 2017 book, Deep Nutrition. Together with my FMD, Deep Nutrition, and all of Dr. Mark Hyman's podcasts and YouTube videos, I can finally say that after a decade of searching, I've finally found a diet that's healthy, nutritious, and healing;
1 - Meat on the bone (especially those sourced from grass-fed & grass-finished, ethically raised sources)
2 - Sprouted grains & Fermented foods
3 - Organ meats
4 - Fresh food in season
Guys... I've done the research and I've done countless tests on my own body. I've been so sick I thought I was dying and I was once so confused I thought the answers would never come... but I believe a diet rich in healthy fats and low in carbohydrates and vegetable oils is the way to go. It took a long time for me to figure it out, but now that I have I'm never going back. I've largely healed my own body by going back to a more traditional diet. Instead of doing what all the "experts" say, try listening to your own body. If I had listened to my body's response to grains, carbs, and sugar sooner; I could have saved myself years of pain, sickness, and anxiety.
Live well, and be healthy.

I’ve been doing keto for 19 months & am healthier than I’ve ever been in my life. I’m 53 & nearly four years removed from a triple bypass. I’ve been following all of the participants in this movie for the same amount of time but didn’t know this doc existed. This is by far the greatest tool that exists to spread the word to our families & loved ones. I wish Ivor & Dr. Berry could’ve been in it too but it’s still fantastic. No friends or family will listen to me but I’m not discouraged. I’m not going to have a crappy quality of life as I watch my grandkids grow & I’m more excited than ever about my future free of chronic disease & meds & ignorant, closed-minded doctors.

I'm in Africa and I think generally, carbs are cheaper and easily available/ accessible. Switching up is going to be a bit hard amd tricky but as a mom, I am inspired enough to find a way to make it work. This essentially means that we will not spend loads of money in the future getting treatment for what we can avoid now. Thank you.

I wasn't overweight, but always had a round belly when I was in the military despite running a ton (and much faster than the average person I was running with). The military diet had me always eating as much as I could - partially because of the food choices they served and partly because they limited us so much on eating in basic training (when we were burning massive amounts of calories) that it triggered me into feeling a desperate need to eat as much as possible every time food was available. It took me years to retrain myself how to eat more appropriately for my needs.

How many people I've argued with including my own doctors despite positive results in EVERY metric. Keep beating this drum until everyone hears. This is our family, friends and loved ones that could be saved a life of expense and suffering with this information.

Just came across this documentary. Thank you so much for uploading! A year ago, my liver enzymes were out of control, I was just about ready to start Metformin for type 2 diabetes. I had put on 50 lbs and had horrible psoriatic arthritis, plus high blood pressure. 2 months ago, I started a strict keto diet. I just two months, I have lost 25 lbs, my blood sugar is normal, my fatty liver count is normal, and my arthritis and psoriasis are almost gone. I haven’t felt this good in years!

I haven’t done keto, but I cut out 75% of processed foods, including refined sugar, and started eating vegetarian once a week. I lost 50 pounds, went off three different medications (cholesterol, diabetes, & blood pressure), and improved my multiple sclerosis symptoms. Whenever I start leaning towards a more carb heavy diet, I start gaining weight. Higher protein over carbs is what works for my body.

Absolutely agree with cutting on sugar and the benefits of healthy fats. I recently wrote an article about the danger of added sugar consumption and the facts/stats I came across were mind-blowing. It is all about the bliss point, which is the ideal ratio of salt, sugar, and fat that optimizes deliciousness in food. Reducing fat meant that food manufactures had to increase one of the two other ingredients to enhance palatability and keep consumers satisfied—yes, it was the sugar, a toooon of it.

This movie is a masterpiece of information and should motivate you to get better health.
The most perplexing thing in life after how the universe came into existence is what should a human being eat to optimize their health.
That answer is finally prominent in this documentary.
May the reward of goodness be shared by everyone who made this movie. RIP Dr. Sarah Hallberg.

I've only been to the US once and was shocked at the portion sizes. Every meal I ordered was more than double the amount I would normally consume. I saw really fat people there that I had never seen anywhere before and felt so sad for them. The portion sizes are large because carbohydrates are not satiating. This hoax is a crime against humanity.

I fell for the McDougall vegan style of eating and gained like 40 lbs. I followed the guidelines to a T, zero deviation from the plan. Gained weight. All around my mid section. Blood sugars started creeping up from the 90's to over 120 pretty consistently. I knew I was headed down the wrong path. Now I'm two weeks into keto and hoping for the best.

Even if not everyone wants to follow a ketogenic diet, I think a good takeaway is that fat, especially saturated fat, is good for us. Incorporating more fat and protein into our diets is a good first step, which will lead to reduced carb intake. Then we can focus on intentionally removing carbs.

I had a Texas childhood in a fat family and would snack on cookies all day and eat tons of pasta. I never did get fat, but I was always so incredibly sick and saw so many doctors but none of them could help me. They thought I had SIBO and gave me strong antibiotics, which made my problems 10x worse to the point where I could not eat any carbs without getting extreme migraines and stomachaches at the same time and I was suddenly prediabetic. I then stopped eating carbs and sugars, then I felt like a new person and everything is just suddenly cured.

Not even does this help people with diabetes, but it can also help people on dialysis keep their lab work where it needs to be. When I was on dialysis and I tried the ketogenic diet that my doctor recommended that I not do for health reasons but after I did it anyway, he couldn’t believe how much better my lab work became on this diet. I truly believe humans are meant to eat this way!!! And I also believe that, had I known about this diet prior to going on dialysis. I may never have needed dialysis ora transplant at all. ❤

4 months ago I went to the doctor very sick and found out that my A1C was at 10. 2 doctors recommend the carnivore diet and in seven weeks I completely reversed type 2 diabetes and felt wonderful. I screwed up the other day and bought a Cinnabon and 1 hour after I ate it I felt horrible.

Great documentary. The only slight flaw is you don't mention type one or type 1.5 diabetes, and I think that can also be helped with the low-carb diet. The only difference is you'll have to take some insulin, but it can be reduced a lot.

Thank you so much for this validation in a diet plan. Since my teens, I followed the low-fat, low-salt, carb laden diet because my father and other family members were diabetic. Dad also had heart attacks, and because heart disease was on both sides of my family, with my maternal grandfather dying from second heart attack at 66.. About 5 years ago, my doctor sent me to a dietician because he figured I was eating wrong, as my fasting blood sugar was rising, and so were my lipids, and my weight. turns out the only thing I was doing wrong was cooking with Olive oil, as I was told I should cook with sunflower, or Canola oil. 3 years later my numbers were higher and I was dX with non alcoholic fatty liver disease, put on blood pressure pills and lipitor. I decided to eliminate carbs almost completely from my diet. All white foods, GONE. In the first year I fixed everything, and my weight dropped from 262 to 217 lbs. I have a lot less inflammation in my joints, feel less sleepy during the day and a lot less brain fog. I'm 57. My A1c is down to 5.1, and total fats under 4. My BP is 118/72. I still need to lose more weight, and I hope it continues to come off me, as I've been stuck at this weight for about 6 months now. So thank you, all so much for uncovering the truth. My great-grandmother loved her bacon and eggs, and she lived to be 91 :)

Great documentary and summary of the book "Big Fat Suprise". The only diet that worked for me was when I did a high fat/low carb diet. Still hard for me because I do like all the carb foods. But it is Truth!

I have struggled with weight for a while and inflammation in my body, I am only 23 years old, yet I feel like a 40 year old I think feels. This documentary has opened my eyes a lot, and made me realize that its not about only counting calories but actually watching what I eat is very important. Day 1 of starting the keto diet.

I got there the long way, through books and videos from mostly these same people. I think this video is a pretty good summary.
Including the ideas of people/orgs not backing down, going ahead without research and the vast quantities of profits is important.
I'd also like people to consider what else that gets pushed at us is equally wrong.

This is a wonderful film that will be eye- opening for many many people. Thanks to these who made it. You are doing God's work. The most mistrusted words in the English language should be 'we're from the government and we're here to help'. Politicians (with few exceptions) are corrupt, slithering, blood-sucking bottom-feeders who will perpetuate any lie they can if it means they get what they want in return. If you want to know why these people would (and did) scam millions of people for generations...just follow the money. They get richer off people getting sicker. Plain and simple. So keep educating yourselves and take charge of your own health, America! The next bottle of pills isn't going to be advertised on tv every night because it would be in your best interest to run to your doctor and get a prescription for it.

I've been on keto and intermittent fasting for the last 8 months and lost 100 ibs. I still can't believe that I'm in a normal weight range now. I was overweight for the last 10 years. Keto definetely changed my life and I'm feeling the healthiest I've ever been. I'ts absolutely crazy to me, how low fat and high carb foods are getting advertised to us.

This is a great eye opener. We all know sugar is a problem but I also wonder if the glyphosate contained in pesticides are making people sick rather than gluten. I think it is worth going organic as well. I live in Canada and recently our food guide has changed for a much smaller portion of grains.

My dad was prediabetic 10 years ago. His weight was in the upper normal range and had been for decades and he was generally healthy, but if A1C didn't decrease on the next check, he was gonna be tagged T2 diabetic.. His doc told him to cut out fats. That's it. Dad followed this advice. Six months later, A1C was at a normal level and weight weight had dropped to lower end of normal range. He has maintained this ever since and is in good health at 74. Everything I've seen about the benefits of low carb high fat makes total sense to me, and I can find nothing supporting that doctor's advice or my dad's results. He and I debate this occasionally. Would sure like to find some clarity on the conflict between these two approaches!

I have been overweight for most of my adult life, gradually but continuously gaining more and more weight over the years. This past year, my sugar addiction got worse, along with my depression and anxiety. I was eating so much and gaining weight to the point where I was having to buy bigger-sized clothes. I was going from overweight to obese right before my eyes. But that still wasn't enough of a wake-up call for me, maybe due in part to the fact that the endocrinologist I went to assured me my blood sugar was still at normal levels and I had nothing to worry about. It was when I stumbled upon a video on insulin resistance and its symptoms, most of which I was experiencing, that I knew I had to do something and fast. That same night I watched a bunch of videos on IF and keto, and the very next day, I started on them. That was less than two months ago and I have lost over 20 lbs since. All my clothes are looser now, even my old ones that I couldn't fit into anymore. I can cross my legs again, something I hadn't been able to do in years. My mind is sharper and my body is stronger. This new knowledge and lifestyle is empowering and life-changing, and I thank God I learned about it right when I needed to.

The documentary has explained something that always puzzled me. I have twins(10 yrs), a girl and boy. The boy was born allergic to meat and most animal products unlike the girl, who unknowingly follows the keto diet. The boy, who from the documentary unknowingly follows the high carb diet is obese( 50kg) while the girl is the opposite(25kg). I always thought the discrepancy in their weight must be genetic and now am not sure after watching this documentary. Thanks for the insight and I wish everyone the very best as they try to overcome the disorders of our time.

The documentary “Fathead” jolted me awake a few years ago. This is also good info. The failure of the US government dietary guidelines are a huge reason why I never trust what my government tells me.

Marketing bad foods doesn’t help. We really need to share this far and wide. Thank you all for sharing your information , experiences and truth

I’ve never been fat, however, I ate low-fat for years and had horrible skin and joint issues. I’ve moved to a high fat mostly meat and some fruit diet, and I feel so much better. I was barely functional before. In fact, the issue started in high school when I went on a low-fat diet.

I have completed the video! An amazing video that I recommand to every body. It opened my eyes to so many things! For one thing I now respect much more the obeses as for the longest time I though they were responsible for their condition. Obese, doctors and nutritionists are victims and not the cause of the problem. Nice thing to know that some doctors, nutritionists and patients have the smart to question the food guide if it does not work for them. In Canada our food guide recommend 25% of carbohydrates instead of 45% so for once we are ahead of the USA but I am sure not for very long. In the USA you find the best and the worst of the world and this is what freedoom is about! :-) :-) :-)

Amazing video! This is what I like about the USA. The truth always find its way to the public. You saved me from obesity and from having to take drugs to control my cholesterol level for the rest of my life. Thank you.I had to stop my viewing of the video about mid way as I was getting too emotional. I will sleep over what I have seen so far then watch a little more every day. I now understand why some nutrinonists and scientists are so upset as they knew at the time in which direction public health was going. I did some tests on myself and see what happen if I eat what the dietary guide recommend and then a very low carb ditet and I arrive to the same conclusion. Sugar is very bad to you and not fat. Unfortunatly it is very difficult to stay healthy and keeping your cholesterol low. I guess I will have to learn to live with a high cholesterol so I can stay healthy. :-) :-)

I was obese and tried to lose weight following classic medical advice. My dietitian suggested I follow the food pyramid, eat less to no animal fat, eat five times per day and consume lots of carbs. It got worse. I was always hungry, gained weight, and earn a lifelong sugar addiction. Guess what happened when I stop listening to her and based my diet on animal fat, meat, and dairy? I dropped a lot of weight and was feeling full all the time. I still can't believe this advice is being given to people who need to lose atopos tissue.

I’d be really interested in seeing how a traditional Chinese or Japanese diet compares to Keto. We never had high rates of obesity or diabetes on a very high carb low fat diet until we switched to the more western diet. 🤔

"It's freedom. Freedom from being hangry, it's freedom from cravings, it's freedom from headaches, it's freedom from reactive hypoglycemia, freedom from mood swings, it's better quality of sleep. It's better quality of life".
For me, the biggest freedom is the freedom from being angry at myself. For so many years on a high carb diet, I constantly felt hungry and deprived, so I was constantly giving in and eating highly processed, high-sugar crap that my body craved. I constantly felt ashamed, I constantly felt like a failure who had no self control. I was constantly mad at myself. Little did I know that I was setting myself up for failure and was having a genuine physiological reaction that was making me feel this way. It wasn't poor self control, I just didn't have a fighting chance with the food choices I was making. Since adoping a low-carb lifestyle, my cravings have dropped and i'm no longer prone to overeating, let alone binge eating. What started as a short term solution to lose weight has turned into a lifelong committment to my health and wellness, one that has truly saved my life.

After eating food based on a low-carb diet, I can say that this lifestyle has changed my life positively 100%. Not only I can control my hypothyroidism but also I actually feel so much better in any way of my life (plus, losing some pounds and sizes :)). Even exercising doesn't seem like a struggle now because I feel energized. Best change ever!

The Big Fat Surprise By Nina Teicholz
Why Butter, Meat & Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet
THE BIG FAT SURPRISE not only reviews thousands of scientific studies but also documents the politics and personalities dominating the last 50 years in nutrition policy, to get behind the flip-flopping headlines and explain some basic truths about nutrition science.
THE BIG FAT SURPRISE is the first publication not only to systematically argue that the saturated fats in animal foods have been unfairly maligned, based on weak, inconclusive evidence, but also to document the highly damaging unintended consequences (the rise of both vegetable oil and carbohydrate consumption).
More than a dozen scholarly review papers over the past five years have confirmed Teicholz’s conclusions on saturated fat. For average people, the implication is that we have been needlessly avoiding meat, cheese, whole milk and eggs for decades and that we can welcome, guilt-free, these “whole fats” back into our lives.
