He was the man who identified the flaws in the education system and yet even after almost 70 years after his death, these flaws still dwell deep within our educational system
He was right about the human stupidity having no boundaries

"Blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of truth" is my favorite. We all know Einstein was a genius but did not know he was also a wise philosopher with a strong sense of humor like Mark Twain.

"Genius is 1% talent and 99% hard work."
I think that's just an encouragement for average people like me to work harder. Seriously! I knew a smart man. He is just, well, smarter than the others. He can understand more. He can understand faster. What he's lacking is just hard work and a little bit of luck in life.

Albert Einstein was asked on his 50 wedding anniversary, “To what do you attribute the success of your marriage?” Professor Einstein offered this profound response. “When we first got married, we made a pact. It was this: In our life together, it was decided I would make all of the big decisions, and my wife would make all of the little decisions. For fifty years we held true to that agreement. I believe that is the reason for the success in our marriage. However, the strange thing is, that in fifty years, there hasn’t been one big decision.”

Great quotes, I especially like the quote "The only sure way to avoid making mistakes is to have no new ideas" Just as well I only think I have simple innovations and I've definitely tried avoiding being mistaken. I can also explain it very simply that I've been using my own electronic antibiotics and nanomaterials which I know have quantum mechanical properties. :-)

Mate can you please do a full mash up of all your quotes. Stagger them more slowly from suiter to suiter so i can leave it running 24/7. Some of these are truely profound and pending the mindset at the time, different quotes strike more directly. I would love even an hour long version to have running full time. I love it! Thank you for putting this together.

Y'know, I have never been good at math in school. Had to take multiple classes over and over. Still I struggle with it to this day in college, but it makes me think about Einstein. He loved doing this, this was what made him happy. That's why he became the genius that he is today. I have my interests, I want a career in film and create movies. I literally use the exact opposite side of my brain the best lol. Yet Einsteins quotes are strangely one of the most inspirational ones I think about.

Holy cow this quote made me million times better at math, I used to attempt to memorize formulas instead of solving the exercises, ever since I started solvijg more instead of spending lots of time to memorize, I became way better. And I convinced my teacher to completely change her teaching methods since she was forcing us to memorize everything which is impossible

Professor: I beg your pardon!

Thank you so much for this quotes . It's a opportunity & honor to read Scientists Einstein wisdom . Because he also, had a struggle in his life .
------ His own Professor was given him bad recommendations . Which he did research under with . Eventually his dad was able to found it . And because of this wasn't getting job . Even after PhD with Physics .
------- Scientists Einstein made more scores in Physics than how much was needed . But he did fail many general subjects . Eventually he was Nobel prize winner . ( Just to share with you all . That means ! you can't be perfect all around . )

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result." - attributed to Albert Einstein.
I say that futility is, basically, the exact same definition. Therefore, futility, or constantly engaging in any futile behavior, especially, is also a form of insanity. Thus, to me, those two terms can be used in that sentence and still be true. Not always, perhaps, but, at least, in most instances.

Why didn't Einstein ever talk about his first wife? At least, she checked his papers. By today's standard, she should be a co-author. Why didn't Einstein ever talk about Grossman? He taught Einstein Riemann geometry. Otherwise, Einstein wouldn't be able to work on general relativity. Why didn't Einstein ever talk about Grossman's father? He helped Einstein to find a job in the Swiss patent office. Isn't it a coincidence that Einstein did all his best work in the presence of his first wife and Grossman? Afterwards, he spent his life questioning quantum mechanics and uniting electric and gravitational force. Was that a great success?

My favorite one is "Never memorize something that you can look up." Because so often in school, we are asked to memorize some mathematical formula for a test.
Recently, I just took a differential equations final for my engineering degree, and for that final, my teacher required me to memorize ALL the Laplace transform equations (if you don't know what those are that's fine, consider yourself lucky) of which there are like a whole table of 30+ equations in my textbook. Also some additional equations beside those.
Absolutely no need to memorize all those equations for a single test. If I need to, I can easily look them up in a table in the back of my textbook, or get them from the internet.
What's more important is that you understand what the equation means and how it is used. It is not important to memorize every single equation you come across.

The quote "Genius is 1% talent and 99% hard work" (read at 2:20) is from Thomas Edison, not Albert Einstein. I now suspect that many of the quotes in this youtube series are bogus, based only on hearsay and urban legend.

"It's insane to do the same thing twice and expect different results." was not listed. But then again, Einstein didn't know the computers of today, so that quote wouldn't be true today. If I had a Dollar for everytime I did something twice with my computer and it worked the second time, I wouldn't need to work with one for a living.

That's where it gets confusing, in a previous quote he said to live a happy life, tie it to a goal not to people or things. And then in the next quote, he said only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile. "Others" is meant obviously as people and this quote simply implies that we must be selfless. So does this mean a life worthwhile isn't necessarily a happy life? Dafuq?!

I had heard briefly about Einstein in my teenager time but didn't know much about why he was such famous. As a physics student, I came to know more about him and the weight of his theories when I studied Special Relativity in my Year 3 in the University. I was so amazed by the simplicity of the formulas but even more amazed by the concepts behind which led to the theory and the formulas. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to study General Relativity during my undergrad study as the degree course didn't include which I somehow regretted because I immediately started to work after graduation. I have read and watched many documentaries about Albert Einstein, but I found that this documentary is very impressive and gives a clear recap of his life and theories. So, thank you very much, The People Profiles for the production of this documentary.

Ulm is famous for a great many things aside from Einstein. My own personal favorites (again, aside from Einstein, who is one of my greatest heroes) are the Ulmer Münster, the tallest steeple in the world, which sits atop a magnificent and truly unique cathedral that was built in 1377 and was somehow never destroyed in all the wars that have raged around it. Even if you're not a fan of church architecture, this building is just amazing. There's a narrow spiral staircase built of intentionally unevenly placed stones (supposedly to keep the Devil from reaching Heaven, at least according to one of the many legends) that goes all the way to the top, but over the centuries those stones have sadly been smoothed flat (except on the edges) by the millions of feet that have climbed them. Another of those legends alleges that the number of steps changes over time, which is (again, sadly) probably not true, as I counted 768, which seems to be the general consensus. Finally, there's the tongue twister that every German learns in kindergarten, which is for unknown, mysterious reasons just hilarious when attempted by non-German speakers: "In Ulm und um Ulm und um Ulm herum."

What society often underestimates , in time ,are taken by surprise through time of an individual’s capabilities. If we’d choose to look out beyond the scope of our own ideas of people or out beyond others words or verbal estimations of people, we might each have seen the incredibleness and beauty of people to appreciate them.

I happen to have a degree in Physics, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. One thing I learned during my four years at RPI was that I did not have the kind of intelligence to become a true theoretical Physicist. Another this I developed was an answer to a frequently asked question: "Do you understand _________? The response I usually give to such questions runs along the following lines: Scientists, and particularly don't "understand" anything. What progress that has been made in the field has been in the nature of developing a description of observed phenomena -- usually in terms of some sort of mathematical analysis or model. That seems to have some power to not only describe those observations, but to predict others that have heretofore gone unobserved. For example, of the five fundamental forces that seem to characterize the universe (The Strong nuclear force, weak nuclear force, magnetism, the electrical force, and gravity, much remains mysterious. Why, for example, do both magnetism and the electrostatic force have "Opposites" which attract, and "Similar" quantities, which repel. Why is gravity so much weaker than the other forces, by factors of billions or more? At one time, it was hoped that so-called "string theory" might provide some answers, but progress has not been forthcoming.
There is always, of course that "hope that springs eternal." It may have taken 250 years, but at last a proof has been found for Fermat's Last Theorem, with the Collatz Conjecture still on hold.

I love Richard Feynmans assessment of Einstein. He said two things: 1) That good old Albert made the assumption that the speed of light was fixed and could not be exceeded. He did that so it would fit his maths, not because it was true. and 2) Every great theory only holds good until someone smarter comes along and disproves it.

The cause of his genius is obviously a confluence of events, such as his physical location in time and space, as well as his genetics. He was in a place where tenure and intelligence was fame and status in the most virtuous way. He was set on path a few people with his mutation take too. A mutation that when comment on his genius he said something like I am able to think longer. Autism, as Elon Musk is changing our world with his mutation, Albert was able to enjoy an obsession with math. He could think deeply for a very long time and make analogies connecting ideas others have not. The story of his cab ride and discovering relativity based on a ride home. Autists learn how to be “normal”(in my view as an autistic person) through analysis of everything. That task prepares the successful persons brain to place new analogies in the world that make no sense until related again in a quantifiable way. My perspective comes from my own special interests. I can see a time and place where studying makes me happy and fulfilled that I forget to eat. It is clear to me that he must have enjoyed his work more than anything and had the physical capacity in extra neurons firing more rapidly making for the innovation autists create in every field. His field is the study of everything and his time was the end of monarchy.

Black holes, which is a term coined by Wheeler in 1967, appeared as one of the solutions of his equations of General Relativity discovered by Schwarzschild, describing a point of infinite mass density beyond which the equations break down. This limit Einstein believed was just a mathematical feature of the equations and could not possibly be a real object, and this singularity which was studied extensively by others over the years before it came to be known as black holes and were increasingly accepted as real cosmological bodies, notably by the work of Chandrasekar and later on Roger Penrose and Hawking, before they were eventually observed by different indirect methods.

He was the greatest brain of the 20th century, but for George Lemaitre.... who proved Einstein wrong about his mistaken belief in a static universe....... and Lemaitre did it with Einsteins own theory! To his credit Einsteins eventually admitted his mistake to Lemaitre.

They who know most about intelligence measuring, rate Albert's IQ at 150/160. A man I have spent many years getting to know has an IQ a little less than 180. Why don't we all know of him? His interests are Broard. He believes he has improved the lives of a billion people.

Documentary was almost thorough because I don't know why Einstein's feud with Tesla on his "Theory of Relativity" was not mentioned. The argument was that it was impossible for something (Sun and Planets) to "bend" space, which is essentially nothing, by an invisible theoretic gravitational force . His visit to Argentina was not just as a tourist, but to attempt to prove that his theory was correct by observing a solar eclipse there in the hope that he could find evidence that the moon and stars were "bending" the Sun's light rays. This he did not and another follow up attempt at another part of the world was even less convincing. Referring to Einstein as the " Greatest Brain of the 20th Century" is misleading and erroneous when compared to the many contributions of Tesla's own brain to our everyday lives today that has nothing to do with theory, but, instead hard undeniable fact! Tesla is again underated and disrespected by yet another documentary. 😔

Great video!!
I would just like to add for precision, it is not so much the philosophical consideration of light speed travel as much as the mathematical conflict between Maxwell's theory of electromagnetism and classical mechanics, such as for instance the theorem of the addition of velocities. I should add that Einstein's postulating that the speed of light is invariant per change of frame of reference is not so much a philosophical position as much as the recognition of results of observation which were noted in several experiments over the years, whereby it was observed consistently that light propagates at the same velocity in different frames of reference, best exemplified by the Michelson-Morley experiment.
Relativistic time dilation and length contraction, other than being a logical resolution to this mathematical difficulty, and lack of logic coherence regarding the principle of relativity stated by Galileo and Newton, are also already naturally appearing in the Lorentz transformation discovered earlier by Hendrik Lorentz studying the motion of electrically charged particles, though Lorentz did not realize the physical significance of these terms, and suggested that they just might mathematical variables enabling calculation.

It is believed that only a few men, differently involved in different fields in past times, changed the course of human history. These men never appeared at the same time, the one came after several years of the other. Nor did some of them take similar stands on the same issue. But Albert, not only among these men, but I feel even he would be the last one, especially in the "world of physics!" Few will come geniously, and perhaps they could alter a lot, but still by refining what once Albert theorized. Imagine the world today without the great findings of Albert—it would undeniably be like it had been up until 1905.
Bunches of thanks to this channel for the best and most well-versed narration as always.

Einstein simply took facts and by using the magic word " theory " brought together mathematicly the unexplainable, thereby satisfying or science. If you don't have answers you can use the mathematical method of equation to work it out simply by using the magic word theory. Many say we now know Einstein was correct, but nevertheless it's still theory. So, in reality Einstein was the greatest and most clever salesman mathematician using relativity of knowledge.

There are two basic brain organizations. Unilateral organization in which both the ears and the eyes are operated by the same brain hemispheres. These are the two main input channels that humans use to think. Being unilaterally organized permits reading to be easy since the brain's area that sees letters and words is immediately adjacent to the brain's are that uses language. Being bilaterally organized causes a brain to be unable to support reading until the two brain hemispheres are better integrated. Einstein's brain was bilaterally organized and he was unlikely to have done well early in school. The unilaterally organized do well in school where reading is paramount but they lack a degree of depth in their thinking. They are after all using just one hemisphere. Relative to the bilaterally organized, they are halfwits.

The greatest brain of the 20th century is John von Neumann who made major contributions to almost every branch of mathematics of his day, solidified the mathematical formalism of quantum mechanics, created game theory, invented the computer architecture that we still use today amongst other things. Einstein, however, is the greatest thinker of the 20th century if not of all humanity. I won't rehash his incredible achievements but only to correct the video concerning any priority dispute over General Relativity. Einstein had come up with the conceptual framework for GR and was invited by David Hilbert to give a series of lectures on it in the summer of1915. He was still struggling to find its final correct mathematical form which he was close to achieving in 1908 but abandoned. Anyway, it is true that both he and Hilbert were able to find the correct equations by the end of 1915 with Hilbert using the Lagrangian or action form which yields Einstein's equations thus they arrived at it in different ways. But only Einstein had done the calculations to show how General Relativity correctly describes the precession of Mercury's orbit which Newtonian mechanics could not. Hilbert who is regarded as one of the greatest mathematicians of the 20th century fully credited Einstein with General Relativity.

One of the finest minds that's ever lived but what usually gets overshadowed is Einstein was a great human being too. Not only did he oppose extreme nationalism by other groups but also criticized the element of Jews that were also nationalist fanatics. In a 1948 letter published in the New York Times Einstein accused far right Herut of being fascists (so-called "Freedom" party which eventually became Likud).

Einstein was never an outstanding mathematician, his first wife was. He stole the basics from her and sold them under his exposed name!
He was also never a particularly outstanding physicist, but rather had all the work sent to the world community, which he then used as puzzle pieces, with a whole team at his disposal.
Among other my old friend and teacher Rostislaw Dolinski !

It's a bit amusing that in this great video dealing with real science, the evolution theory is mentioned at 28:14 as if it belonged to science. Evolution theory however is a relic belonging to the museum of failed theories. Robert Laughlin, professor of physics at Stanford University, and sharer in a Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on the fractional quantum Hall effect, describes evolution theory as "an ideology, a logical dead end and an anti-theory".

Albert Einstein was critical of militant Zionism and its treatment of Palestinians. He believed that the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine should be done through peaceful and just means, rather than through violence and oppression of the indigenous Palestinian population. Einstein also spoke out against the forced displacement of Palestinians and advocated for their rights to be respected in any solution to the conflict. He believed in a bi-national state where Jews and Palestinians could live together in peace and equality.

Very interesting report. However, all Einstein did was to discover and explain the cogent laws that govern the existence and function of the physical universe, as we know it. His attitude about religion and God was his other blunder, because as much as it required someone to discover and explain these laws of nature, it is clearly obvious and logical that SOMEONE with superlative intelligence had, ab initio, to have created and used these laws to build the physical world. The discoveries of Einstein and his colleagues revealed some of the processes that God, the creator, used in establishing the physical universe. That God created, the scientists discovered, and we all come to experience the physical world is a cyclical equation that defines the relationship between the existence of a physical universe, a creator, and our intelligent human experience of nature.

Oh Rubbish…… even Einstein conceeded to Tesla’s brilliance……it came out of his own mouth. And like Darwin’s theory, in years to come we’ll realise how far off the mark he really was….

So-called ‘Einstein’s’ ‘greatest mistake’? For the time being - ‘the cosmological constant’ - many other mistakes as well, such as ‘God doesn’t play dice’ and ‘the letter’… END

I don’t think he was greatest brain of the 20th century-maybe we should get more focus on on Mileva Einstein and what he did after they separated.

What's the deal with all the bot-like spamming and trolling in the comment section? I didn't realize there were that many Tesla fanboys posting irrelevant remarks.

Find it annoying that feminist nonsense wants to attribute his discoveries somehow to his wife
All she did was check some of the maths because she was a capable physicist and good at maths.
His ideas were all his own.

Nonsense; Albert was a good mathematician but not great, and I have never heard of these Italian visitations et cetera..nor the engineerng background of his father. Sounds like a deadbeat son who didn't want to be an engineer. This doesn't seem like a true or thorough bio of Albert..
