Niccolo paganini
Niccolò Paganini was born in Genoa, Italy, Oct 27, 1782 and is considered by many to be one of ,. The young musician first received lessons from his father and later from the most reputable teachers in Genoa. In 1801 Paganini travelled to Lucca in Tuscany and in 1805 he was appointed to the position of court solo violinist by Napoleon's sister Elisa Bacciocchi. After four years in Lucca Nicolo left the court and began performing his own music at concerts throughout Italy. It was not until 1828 that Paganini made his first professional appearances outside Italy when he embarked on a six-and-a-half year tour that started in Vienna and ended in Paris in September 1834. Stories of Paganini's performances are legendary, with audiences said to have been moved to tears and hysteria. His astonishing technical ability led many to believe that his mother had sold his soul to the devil in return for a career as the greatest virtuoso in the world. Paganini garnered great personal wealth but he was known for his excessive gambling that at one point forced him to pawn his own violin. By the mid-1830s Paganini's health and ability began to fail and he died in May 1840 from internal hemorrhaging before a priest could be summoned. This added to suspicions that he had entered a pact with the devil and the Church denied his body a Catholic burial in Genoa. It was not until 1876 that his remains were finally laid to rest in a cemetery in Parma.

I am 92 yrs old, I grew up listenning Fritz Crizler, Jasha Heifez and then David Oisttrakh. And after listening Augustin Hadelich for couple of times I believe that he is perfect just like them. I cannot find a proper word to describe his virtuosity.. Gokce Ergun.

He wrote his own cadenza ! and it is beautiful, very soulful. The purity of Augustin's tone, the product of his bowing technique, and his composing distinguish him from other fine concert violinists. The del Gesu is icing on the cake. What a treat!

This is the most naturally musical interpretation I’ve heard of this work. The phrasing and timing is amazing and every notes ‘sings’ that you forget about how technically difficult this work is. Very different to other performances of this work I’ve heard. The Del gesu isn’t too bad either!

Perfectly balanced musicality. You can tell he really thought considered how every single note would sound best, and then gave it extra nuance, while still respecting the original meaning of the music. He's not playing to impress us with technical skills, but to produce the best possible music.

This is one of the best Paganini Concerto No. 1 performances I have ever heard. Techniques ,to him, are no longer something to impress the audience but the integral part of his being. His fingers effortlessly flied on the fingerboard, producing notes that were as pure and sweet as the honey that instantly melted in your ears. The last time I had such excitement was when I listened to Shlomo Mintz played the same concerto using Paganini’s own violin “El Cannone”. Bravo👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉

What a beautiful musician.
I love this man the way I love beethoven.
He makes the music live. He has soul. He is amazing. So rare to find a living musician that makes me feel this way. I am astounded and filled with joy at his soul.

It would be very, very difficult to find a more virtuosic performance of this Paganini Concerto than this. The runs are crystal clear and each note rings out. Such fine bowing technique. The Detroit Symphony sounds at home with this artist in Symphony Hall with marvelous acoustics. This video captures the essence of what the live concert must have been like. Loved the spontaneous applause between movements which was well deserved. World class sounds all the way around. Simply marvelous!!

This is fully in tune with Kogan, Francescatti, Heifetz, Ricci and the like. It could be Kogan who played this piece, it sounds so familiar - incredible. Alike the long-forgotten talent Ossy Renardi.

Excellent orchestral playing!! Wow~! Seriously, these are not easy parts and it is awesome they played so cleanly and together :) And as always, Augustin's playing is sick. I definitely think Augustin and Hilary Hahn's versions of this concerto are my favorite, with me leaning towards liking Hilary's version better. I was kind of surprised Augustin wasn't pulling his bow straight in this performance, leaning at an angle at the tip. I maybe just didn't notice if Augustin does this, but I thought that was odd, giving away a lot of sound I would think.

BRAVO !!! Saludos desde España.

Every note is considered, and makes sense musically, and when he plays the music comes so far before the technical aspects (which are effortless) - perhaps how Paganini himself would have wanted it and perhaps how he played? The downward chromatic scale at around 10:55 is one example of how he takes something showy and makes music with it.

My father was a classical violinist. After my mother passed from cancer, he later developed Alzheimers in his elder years and, while still semi-lucid, worked on a piece in his bedroom by Tchaikovsky; I can't remember which one. Always the same piece, always getting stumped at the same place, at which point he'd break into an old farmer, chicken scratch jingle as if to erase his error. Later he began to work on the violin itself, sanding the finish and replacing the strings and always adjusting their tension.
Listening to Paganini gives me an inkling of the devilry and frustration at work in his heart.

I have checked several of the tracks here attributed to Paganini and its false, many of those belong to Rafael Krux, a British composer, this channel seems to be a scam
