The REAL wealthy families, behind the scenes, remain mostly unnamed, but are extraordinarily powerful. 3.1K Reply 451 replies @pattyann2108 @pattyann2108 1 month ago No matter how rich anyone is, nobody really ever 'owns' anything. We are ALL here as temporary 'renters' on earth. And some can rent luxury better than others. 140 Reply 15 replies @gudcode @gudcode 3 months ago (edited) Many of the really rich families are very good in avoiding the 'rich lists' , like the Tata family just bought airplanes for about 100 billion USD and invested similar amount in a new airline they just bought. This is just one of the 150 businesses owned by the Tatas, so imagine how much they are worth. But you will hardly find the Tata name in any rich list. 121 Reply 12 replies @bluesquirrel3919 @bluesquirrel3919 2 months ago Behind great wealth, there was/is always a great crime 327 Reply 34 replies @c.sc.9353 @c.sc.9353 2 months ago The day that the Walton family pays their employees a livable wage - that is the day that they MIGHT be called down-to-earth. Along with McD, they are the top 2 employers of workers who receive Medicaid, food stamps SNAP and other governmental help. No way is treating your workers like that philanthropic. 439 Reply 69 replies @thedelaware8309 @thedelaware8309 1 month ago I just wish certain rich people would just be honest about how nice it is being super wealthy, and stop pretending it's the most dreadful burden imaginable. I, actually, learned the truth of THAT in my youth, when a very wealthy but generous and unassuming person told a poor kid like me, "You know, it DOESN'T suck being rich." I still remember that admission 23 years later... 56 Reply 10 replies @jjlama9418 @jjlama9418 3 months ago The Walton Family, who own one of 2 of the largest Employers in America, have 80% of their Employees, on Government Assistance. He had old wealth and unassailable position and had a higher goal in life than simply becoming richer. He instituted many reforms for the people of America and will always serve as an example. By the by, looking at one's legacy, how many people remember the richest families of Rome. Who will remember these folks. 20 Reply 2 replies @cherylsabol387 @cherylsabol387 2 months ago So basically these 10 families could pull the entire world out of poverty, put food on every table, house every single person and yet they really don’t do anything. Good for them, but it is sickening how the system can chain others in poverty and grant a golden ticket to others, and since there is inheritance the wealth just keeps building up trough out generations. I guess looking at this is similar how Africa sees Europe/US, we have a excess while they have so little. I blame the economic model, wonder when somebody comes up with a system that spreads wealth and also rewards risk taking, skill and luck. 5 Reply @slashdemonfire5024 @slashdemonfire5024 1 month ago I have a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food in my stomach, good health, family & friends who love me, YES! If the people of the US can't see or don't appreciate this massive conflict, then we're doomed at the hands of a few greedy, hungry, extraordinarily powerful cabals. 118 Reply 34 replies @Daoistify @Daoistify 1 month ago (edited) In the post war decades, we made most of our consumer products. Imagine, if their goal was to make the world a better place for everyone, it would be like living at Disneyland. 4 Reply @100perdido @100perdido 3 months ago As an American I am particularly grateful to the Koch family and the Waltons. The Waltons brought us "low prices everyday". The Kochs have invested heavily to make sure that nothing will be done about climate change. As global warming ravishes the economy for the working poor, we will always have Walmart to provide us peasants with low cost processed foods and cheap clothing manufactured by slave labor if we can afford them. 31 Reply 8 replies @patriziapreite1571 @patriziapreite1571 2 months ago The world will never change as long as these people stay in charge!!!!!! 144 Reply 10 replies @MattisonWarren @MattisonWarren 1 month ago (edited) I like how basically every family was described as down to earth philanthropists. …you mean when they’re not doing blood rituals in a dungeon with the “furniture” they got from their friends over at Wayfair? 28 Reply 2 replies @abiyah_1 @abiyah_1 1 month ago What gets me is that there are these many families that have billions and billions that we should not have this much poverty in the world. They should have different centers set up for the homeless to go shower like shower out houses and where they can find work for the day. Also where they can get a hot cooked meal and get packed meals for the week. Get them cleaned up and out working even if it's lawncare work or car washing etc. At these centers they could set up gardens that these without homes could go and once showed and refreshed and tummy full, they would have to go out to the garden and help with what ever they can and with what is needed as a way to give back. If I were to ever win the lottery (lol I got to play first) I would for sure set up centers like these. Almost like big truck stops for the truckers but mine would cater to those who are going thru hardships and are homeless and just need a 2nd chance at getting back on their feet and need a little help and lots of compassion. I truly believe these billionares could end homelessness yet they are SELFISH they would miss the cost of these centers going up and have volunteers work them and/or pay atleast minium wage for their time and dedication in helping others. Reply @kristiblack4789 @kristiblack4789 3 months ago I've been around and/or involved with ultra wealthy people and/or families for years in Santa Barbara. And it immediately struck me how in general, these people are not either happy, nor satisfied with anything! They can't and don't even trust each other. They know better. It actually turned me off of wealthy people entirely. Because it was just so fake and gross to be that undeservedly entitled and privileged. Completely repugnant to a truly enlightened and civilized society. 543 Reply 64 replies @uyvonnemartian7614 @uyvonnemartian7614 2 months ago (edited) You can still eat one meal at a time, wear one pair of shoes at a time, drive one car at a time. So we are all rich in that sense. We each have 24 hours a day to be happy, sad, industrious, angry, generous, charitable, or greedy. 309 Reply 33 replies @americanpatriot7247 @americanpatriot7247 2 months ago (edited) This is a list of people around the world who are honored and catered to because they have more money than most people on earth. They control other people's lives depending on what they do with it. They look like the rest of us, better dressed, drive more expensive vehicles and never worry about the economy as it doesn't exist for them in the same way as it does for us. The older ones look older, the younger ones look younger, and if they walked down the street in a crowd they would blend in where they live. They DO need to enjoy their wealth while they are here on earth, yes. Time claims all of us. Money can't buy you out of that eventuality. And you aren't taking it with you, either. This is all a game played by these folks while they still breath here on earth. Enjoy it while you can. Sometimes I'm so broke that my girls and I spend a day simply walking around dog- friendly indoor and outdoor malls. We usually get a couple treats for the labs, a couple small treats for ourselves, and content ourselves with all the browsing, window-shopping, the entertaining passerby and bonus freebies you find at malls like free makeovers and cool product samplings. We feel like royalty relaxing for a few minutes on massage chairs. You can do a day like that with less than $40. Coming home empty-handed but full-hearted, the girls will often rave about the day. Beg to go back. Wasn't the money, the clothes, the extravagance. It was the laughter, the bonding, the celebration of a day off and togetherness. Our family vacations consist of cross-country road trips and camping, not resorts or cruises. My 11-yr old asked if we could attend a nearby Eras concert just to be part of the outside crowd! We're a small and humble mark upon the world. But an afternoon of laughter together makes me feel like what I imagine those trillionaires hope their money will buy for them. I would never want their idea of wealth. I'm too happy with my own. ❤️ 100 Reply 18 replies @mountainmantararua8824 @mountainmantararua8824 2 months ago I think that it was Henery Ford who said " if you divide all the money in the world between all the people in the world, at the end of the first day, some would have spent it all, some would have gambled it away, some would have doubled it, some would have lost it, some would have given it away" so at the end of the day you would be back where you started. There are many speculations as to their true wealth, but even conservative estimates make the AlSauds fortune seem pitiful. Their land holdings (Crown Land) technically account for about a quarter of the Earths land mass. An invaluable amount of land. However some estimates suggest it could be worth more than $50 trillion. While they don't actually enforce ownership, they do still technically own it. Mr. Walton used to drive himself to his stores and was concerned about the associates. Today the Waltons tell their employees to get Food Stamps, Medicaid and financial assistance because of the low pay paid to their employees. Basically they have no incentive to pay a living wage as long as the government refuses to raise the minimum wage. Taxpayers subsidize the rich and throw scraps to the poor! Ambani family's wealth was created by Dhirubhai, father of the current head. Dhirubhai had 2 sons, the current head Mukesh, and his younger brother Anil. After Dhirubhai's passing, who was the richest man in India in his lifetime, his empire was divided between the 2 sons. Off the 2, the younger Anil is already bankrupt, and the older Mukesh has gone into extreme ostentatious display of wealth, thanks to his wife, Nita Ambani, which is completely unacceptable in Indian culture. Nita Ambani recently opened India's largest cultural centre, which for some reason she has named after herself, which again is kinda unacceptable in still somewhat traditional Indian society. The popular opinion being it should've been named after Dhirubhai who created the wealth. Anyways, the family is so hated that for the opening of that cultural centre, barring 1-2 top-tier industrial families, no one else showed up. The few days long extravaganza was just people from film industry. Also, all of Mukesh and Nita's children are morbidly obese, and come across as utterly dumb. Essentially the kinds who would not be able to garner any respect or credibility from either BOD or employees. In summary, it seems it's just a matter of Mukesh's passing, and the Ambani children would line up for bankruptcy too. 39 Reply 2 replies @tipperny76 @tipperny76 3 months ago (edited) The Waltons should put extra handicapped bathrooms (instead of just the one) in their super centers, not to mention let the sinks actually rinse our hands better instead of that half second stream of tiny water stream ..then when you try to work the sensor, it does not even work half the time. An open window provided a slight breeze in the golden room. Life-sustaining iv had been disconnected, as he took his last breaths. His oldest son stood by his side along with his own son, and a very young grandson who was trying not to shift foot to foot. The richest man in the world, aware only of anticipation of an even more decadent afterlife, was suddenly overwhelmed by the beauty of light from the window gleaming on one of the gold plated posters of his bed. It was so brilliant, he felt joy in his heart. Surely it was a sign from Allah. His focus grew dim, and dimmer still. Until, he breathed his last, and all went dark. He opened his eyes again in what seem to be know time at all . Before him was a God he had never known. As he looked into the eyes of this man, he understood his sin . And was filled with more regret than he ever thought possible. This God... this wonderful terrible God was Jehovah. The one the Jews worship. The Jews that he had sought to kill, and in fact had killed. Many thousands. A word, "Israel". So much love did this God have for his beloved Israel. And it belongs to the Jews. He understood now. His very next thought was, "I was wrong. And now it's too late". He choked out a single word - "Please". Then he was thrown spiraling down a very long way. He landed hard. So hard, that it broke every bone in his body. He immediately became aware of three things. The searing pain, his shameful nakedness, and a strong thirst. He could see there were countless levels above him if only he could get to them. The cries of torture echoed loudly in the dark cavernous pit. The only light, a raging inferno from the levels below. Instinctively, he clamored on top of others trying to go up a little higher to where the air would be breathable. Hitting, punching, and kicking they struggled. A young man was too small and weak to fight. So he lay helpless on the ground. A large woman cursed God as she shook a burnt and blistered fist. The struggle went on and on. There was no way of knowing how long. ...
