I appreciate people like you and these good doctors! 631 Reply 1 reply @BiNumLi 3 weeks ago Retired farmer here. Raised a lot of four legged animals. Learned quickly that any diet change must be slow or the animal will suffer a set back. Think of switch-over from winter feed to spring forage. Makes total sense for humans to change diet gradually. I recommend keeping a journal and monitoring as many health metrics day by day as you can. I'm an older man. Guessing that seniors need even longer than usual transition plans and more careful monitoring. Everyone is different. Our capacity for example to digest fat in the diet requires a healthy pancreas with unblocked or unchoked tubes. So the health of the liver and other organs will impact ability to transition. 252 Reply 17 replies @dianaautrey7582 2 weeks ago My primary care physician keeps telling me that I need to take statins due to my high cholesterol. After watching this video, I am convinced that I made the right decision by refusing to take them. I truly believe that statins contributed if not caused my mother and father's Alzheimer's disease. 43 Reply @annakomorowska1149 3 weeks ago I am from Poland. I would like to thank dr Georgia Ede and the presenter for raising such an important topic. I am so happy that there are more and more wise and brave people, doctors and scientists (also in Poland for example prof Grażyna Cichosz or dr Danuta Myłek, dr Henryk Różański, prof Frydrychowski) who are not afraid to tell the truth. We have to live "close to nature" to stay healthy. Greetings from Poland ! 207 Reply 8 replies @JGPS1112 1 month ago Most medical doctors are ignorant about nutrition and other modalities for treatment. They think what they have learned in medical school is the only way and are quite arrogant about it and narrow-minded to other options. You go to your psychiatrist and discuss nutrition as a way of treatment and/or lowering your medication and they would roll their eyes and laugh at you. Finding a doctor that is well-informed and open-minded is very difficult. 691 Reply 34 replies @KN-ob8hm 3 weeks ago (edited) Meats and organs, fatty fish, avocado, broccoli, cabbage, cheese, whole milk, cream, sauerkraut, pickles, salt, pepper, water with lemon, ghee, avocado/olive/coconut oil, ginger, mint, cloves, nettle- that's my diet. It has improved my health a lot 428 Reply 41 replies @elipotter369 4 weeks ago I had a 5 day stay in hospital recently & was really shocked at what was in the menu - there was so much sugar! When i asked for fresh fruit instead of custard or jelly, they recommended i get listed for the diabetic diet... I also went to the cafeteria to buy nuts for snacks, & saved bread, since the gaps beteen meals was too long - tbere might have been tea breaks of sugary biscuits. I told them i can't eat such a high level of sugar, as it makes me too emotional (sad, teary, anxious, depressed, plus peaks of restlessness & extreme tired).. I couldn't believe that level of sugar & processed food was being fed to us in a brand new modern hospital in Australia. Nearly everything else about the hospital was excellent. 226 Reply 21 replies @brucepahl 2 weeks ago (edited) I'm amazed that she actually was never taught in medical school that food is medicine and effects not only your physical body but your mental health and your mood. Our medical industry is so broken and focused on medications. 49 Reply 9 replies @gratefulagoraphobe 1 month ago I'm day 99 of high fat carnivore. I've had more improvements in my debilitating mental health issues than 20yrs of other treatments 897 Reply 63 replies @BillyBoy66 1 month ago You should put Dr. Ede's name in the title of this video (make's it searchable)..... professional courtesy. 395 Reply 2 replies @marvariley 12 days ago Not all diets are for everyone Since I switched to a primarily plant pleased diet over 10 years ago I was able to reverse multiple health issues including IBS, h pylori, GERD, chronic constipation, headaches, migraines, menopause issues. My sister reversed clogged arteries going vegan, she was keto before. By large, most Americans are big meat eaters, why are they so sick & overweight/obese. I must say though that I do include eggs, sardines and mackerel in my diet once in a while and I find that I’m clearer in my mental state when I eat these fatty fish. It’s a constant learning our individual bodies and tweaking. 22 Reply 6 replies @mspepperblack 12 days ago It's not just what you eat, it is how much you move, how much purpose you have in life, who you spend your time with, your mindset in general, and all this affects how you metabolize whatever you eat...and awareness of commercialization of foods/pesticides/factory farm practices, how fresh your unpackaged food, is, how healthy the soil is, and leaving out sugar and alcohol goes a long way towards a balanced colorful diets and mental health being addressed by something like Compassionate inquriy or Internal Family Systems which has a major affect on your digestion and can help balance your health. 17 Reply @jwinters9974 4 weeks ago It’s so sad seeing this movement towards high fat/meat/carnivore, at the expense of the immensely enjoyable breads, pasta and other loved carbs.. what’s so sad, is this movement has largely started in the US, where grains have become industrialized, gmo, pesticide, over processed franken foods. I just returned to the U.S. from a year in Europe, had breads and pasta like you wouldn’t believe, and my thyroid numbers were better than they’ve been in years, on half the medication! I have no doubt carnivore makes many feel better, but it’s not so much because it’s an ideal diet, more because grains in the U.S. have become compromised due to corporate greed! 281 Reply 41 replies @user-jb4ei8hi7n 1 month ago THE TITLE SHOULD BE Dr. Georgia Ede -The Most Harmful Foods Causing Brain Disease 61 Reply @timedowntube 4 weeks ago Nice work. Welcoming everyone to the simple stuff. I was a molecular biochemist and got trained in all the bullshit we need to escape. When I was about 40 and suffered the consequences of the wrong dietary information despite an apparently excellent lifestyle, I worked it out by elimination, then tracked the actual science that had been done. The very notion that we evolved to wake up each day to a bowl of grass is totally ridiculous. Hunting and herding were always the basis right back to antiquity and our evolutionary roots. The decentralised recovery of simple wisdom is sweet to behold. 85 Reply @UshasRides 1 month ago I have friends who are suffering with depression and in one case, extreme emotional imbalance. I suggested to one friend that maybe they should take a look at their diet... make a small adjustment such as cutting out pasta and see how they feel after a couple of weeks... to cut a long story short, they went way further than my humble suggestion... they cut out a large amount of sugars, drastically cut back on bread and wheat-based items, and have said to me that they are noticing a significant difference. I doubt they will ever go full carnivore (like I am), but I feel like getting just one person to make a tiny change is a huge win. Now I have to try and help my other friends :) 210 Reply 4 replies @gracebrace019 4 weeks ago I worked as a pharmacy technician just for few months and in those months I dispensed so much of ADHD meds for children as young as 6 years, that I questioned my existence in that pharmacy. I resigned... but thoughts in my head like how poorly these parents are informed, to what level these doctors who prescribe such meds are crooks, to what level these pharma can drop to make profits... never stopped. Please bring more of such content where people can be educated by God fearing knowledge holding experts who think that one day they will be held accountable for whatever they say and prescribe to fellow beings. 29 Reply 1 reply @sharpsbattle 3 weeks ago I used to think all these fad diets are marketing gimmicks to sell books and it’s best to eat in moderation. At 46, I switched to keto (to support my wife). I’m sleeping better, no afternoon naps/slumps, snoring went away, energy levels up 10-20%, concentration up. I eat only twice a day even though I was hyperglycaemic most of my life. My belly is shrinking. It’s really crazy and it’s only been 6 weeks. I’m still experimenting with what exactly to eat, but mostly meat is awesome! I hope this helps someone. 88 Reply 5 replies @user-sz9pz2bt4f 1 month ago (edited) My mother was a perfect example. She ate the American diet of daily bread and carbs. She was overweight, then lost all of her teeth in her 40s. She was miserable and became mentally ill. All of that later progressed to dementia. 39 Reply 4 replies @kirbierose2589 3 weeks ago I'm an avid gardener and herbalist. I love plants and herbs, growing them, and eating them. I eat lots of fat and meat, but I don't want to give up these foods 34 Reply 2 replies @Lesstra 2 weeks ago (edited) What about the opposite side of the spectrum - raw vegan, i.e. mostly fruit and very low plant fat (nuts, seeds, avocados)...? There are apparently testimonials of people majorly improving their mental/physical health that way too. How do we scientifically explain that both ends of the dietary spectrum can do similar things for health? 10 Reply @earthmamma85 4 weeks ago My doctor wants me on Lipitor. Cholesterol is high 200’s, ldl almost 200 but my HDL is 72 and triglycerides are 52, blood pressure is good, pulse is good. I’m chubby but not overweight, active throughout my days, don’t drink or smoke, very rarely eat processed foods, mainly eat homemade foods based in animal products. I respectfully declined the meds. 94 Reply 16 replies @barbaraschultz1442 4 weeks ago (edited) It breaks my heart that our children aren’t taught about food and nutrition in grade schools. Parents teach your kids!!! Cook healthy foods for your children. I’m also mortified what chemicals manufacturers are allowed to put in packaged foods for profit! And FDA allows it. People educate yourselves!!! I just learned that watermelon can be injected with red dye! 141 Reply 12 replies @suedavis7451 1 month ago She’s the best guest. Balanced with common sense. 3 Reply @DAVE_WHITE 3 weeks ago Avocados may support brain health in several ways, including: Healthy fats Avocados contain monounsaturated fats, which may help lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of cognitive decline. They also contain oleic acid, a heart-healthy fat that can reduce inflammation in the heart and blood vessels. Nutrients Avocados are full of nutrients that may boost brain and mood health, including vitamin E, folate, niacin, pantothenic acid, potassium, and dietary fiber. They also contain tryptophan, an amino acid that can help balance hormones and improve mood. Lutein Avocados are a good source of lutein, a xanthophyll that's important for cognitive health and is the main carotenoid in the human brain. One study found that daily avocado consumption improved attentional inhibition and increased serum lutein concentrations. B vitamins Avocados contain high levels of B vitamins, including folate and vitamin B6, which may support the nervous system and help reduce stress. 26 Reply 1 reply @marymayer4875 1 month ago I took a month to go from SAD to keto. I looked at foods and drink and what would be good replacements. I started reading labels. It was a lot to learn. 64 Reply 1 reply @alisonsharman1462 2 weeks ago I can see a correlation between the disruptive behaviour of teenagers in school to their high intake of sugar and carbohydrates. 4 Reply @MaryLovesLex 1 month ago I’m gonna be honest with you. I think that you’re title needs adjusting. When I read that the number one, Dr from Harvard suggested something I pass this by originally. I wouldn’t be touting that I educated myself at Harvard or Yale, especially after the gaslighting that went on during the big lockdown. I no longer trust anybody that was educated at those higher education places. So just I know I’m not the only person out there that will pass this by just because it has the word Harvard in it. I don’t believe in Harvard, I don’t believe in higher education anymore. 70 Reply 2 replies @oonaghmolyneux7760 2 weeks ago I read Leslie Kenton’s book ‘Ageless Aging’ in 1990, which described all of this. And James Duigan’s book ‘Clean Eating’ in 2010. A healing lifestyle has major mental/physical health benefits, in conjunction with psychotherapy & coaching. It’s why I specialised in health psychology. 4 Reply @joshuawensell2262 2 weeks ago SPOT on... I have a lifetime of athletics (long distance running, wrestling), military service, and over 20 years in law enforcement. I can attest that being on a high protein/ zero sugar (only fructose) is the way to go. I had some years on a high carb diet with disregard to my nutritional health... I dropped about 40lbs when I returned to my high fat, zero sugar, high protein diet. 3 Reply @user-nm4px7ej2n 2 weeks ago Severe panic disorder I have suffered from since childhood! Always fit, healthy eating etc. Still, suffering. On clonazepam for 30 years:(. I'm trying everything ( gut reset, ashwaganda, cortisol manager etc) Thank God for my faith! The past 4 year's have been the worst! Psychiatrist dr ummeadi here in Toronto is incompetent! I am grateful for this video! God bless you all. 3 Reply @Gowiththeflow111 1 month ago Her explanation of gluconeogenisis was excellent. The body KNOWS how much to make. If we trusted our bodies, being aware that weight gain was a signal to a problem, fatigue is a signal, aches and pains instead of blaming age and we acted swiftly to fix it, society as a whole would be healthy once again as it was before SAD. Thank you so much for this video! 62 Reply 2 replies @garydmercer 1 month ago (edited) Statins made my memory worse. I experienced severe leg pain as well. Stopped taking them. Terrible. I eat saturated fats and to hell with my doctor pushing statins on me. I have severed adult ADHD and it is clear to me that I feel better eating a diet that consists of meat, fish, eggs and vegetables and avoids any refined sugar and seed oils. I use butter, olive oil and coconut oil, that's it. I don't drink milk or eat wheat. I feel so much better on this diet. 86 Reply 16 replies @shars.555 3 weeks ago I was on a low carb diet for over seven years along with regular exercise, and I was in top condition. Then, I tried itermittent fasting for months but gained weight. Now, I have been on the OMAD eating plan (One Meal A Day), and it is the very best eating plan of all. I enjoy all of the food groups! My body regulates itself, and I can feel it. I eat whenever I want on the weekends without being a glutton. Then, I go back to OMAD. I love it! 21 Reply 2 replies @LillieLong 4 weeks ago (edited) You actually have to be careful when going low carb no matter what medication you're on. I take Levothyroxine for my thyroid. I had been eating oatmeal for breakfast every day. I dropped the oatmeal and started eating bacon and eggs for breakfast. The fiber in the oatmeal had blocked the absorption of the Levothyroxine to a degree. But the bacon and eggs didn't. So suddenly I was having heart palpitations and then one night my heart beat was extremely fast and hard for an hour. The Levothyroxine dosage had to be decreased. So no more heart issues! 76 Reply 2 replies
