Ninja Nerds! In this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will be presenting on the Mitochondria Structure & Function. During this lecture we will be continuing our discussion of the cell and the organelles that make up the cell. For this lesson, we will be talking about the mitochondria or the powerhouse of the cell and the functions this important organelle is responsible for. We will also be including a mitochondria animation from our talented friends ‪@nucleusmedicalmedia‬. This video is a collaboration between ‪@NinjaNerdOfficial‬ + ‪@nucleusmedicalmedia‬. Reply @mathias8892 1 year ago "Glycolysis has to occur inside the mitochondrial matrix". Does glycolysis occur inside the mitochondrial matrix? I thought glycolysis occured in the cytosol? 13 Reply 1 reply @novakkz5463 1 year ago more on the GIT series pls sir, you're the only one I can watch hours non stop and actually learn 9 Reply @tarcisioferraz901 1 year ago That's very cool! A high standard explanation! Thank you! 7 Reply @NorthForkFisherman 1 year ago Good overview. And a lot of detail as well. I'm hoping the next mitochondria-specific vid will be on some of the dysfunctions of the organelle and how that presents and is treated in patients. To try and address these issues within the cell really is the holy grail of genetic therapy as these genes are so vital and so conserved. There really is no room for error whatsoever. 7 Reply @marvelaiman237 3 weeks ago You're just way better than my college professors!! I have two remarks: 1- Glycolysis does not take place in the mitochondria, but in the cytoplasm. 2- Acetyl-CoA can not be converted into pyruvate. I am sure you know that. 1 Reply 1 reply @monkeyglocks 2 months ago The enthusiasm is so great.
