Nvidia's rise to becoming a $3 trillion happened in record time. The chip company makes the high-end computer chips that power AI tools like ChatGPT and the cutting edge data centers that more and more companies need access to. But now rivals like AMD and Intel are trying to catch up. Can they take market share from Nvidia, or has the current leader in AI chips gotten too far in the lead? CNBC's Kif Leswing breaks it all down.

CNBC doesn't disappoint. It was stupid of me to sell $76,000 worth of NVDA stocks without reinvesting. I might turn to cash soon if I don't. Any particulars? (Buying bonds or CDs is not for me).

I recently read an article about a man who identified AI stocks before the AI boom, highlighting the importance of information and insight. I believe AI is poised to enter a new phase, and I aim to position my $200k investment portfolio to capitalize on significant gains.

I already own shares of NVDA, PALANTIR, TSLA, and APPL as well. Sure, I don't mind having these equities sit around for a while, but I'd also like to appreciate short-term opportunities that could fetch $200,000 or less..

AI stocks will dominate 2024. Why I prefer NVIDIA is that they are better placed to maintain long term growth potential, and provide a platform for other AI companies. I know someone who has made more than 200% from NVIDIA. I'll also take these other recommendations you made.

The main focus for markets now is Nvidia, which has powered a large chunk of the S&P 500’s recent earnings. Nvidia’s stock, up more than 100% this year, rose 2.5% in New York on Monday, sending the Nasdaq 100 index to another record high. I'm still looking for companies to make additions to my $350K portfolio, to boost performance. Here for ideas...

I recently sold some of my Nvidia stocks to secure profits, but I'm retaining a portion for the long term, its growth potential is robust. I'm also considering diversifying my $400K stock portfolio, but I'm uncertain about managing risks in my next move.

As much as i want to invest in NVIDIA I think it has some short-term pain ahead. Currently sitting on about 250k i'd like to get in with, do you still think NVIDIA is a good buy right now or I have I missed out on a crucial buy period?

Fun Fact [at least according to ChatGPT]: "Yes, the CEOs of AMD and NVIDIA are indeed cousins. Lisa Su, the CEO of AMD, and Jen-Hsun (Jensen) Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, are related. Lisa Su confirmed this in an interview where she mentioned that Jensen Huang is her cousin. Both have roots in Taiwan and have become prominent figures in the semiconductor industry."

Without a doubt, this year will be worse than the last. I lost a lot of money last year as a result of bad investment choices that I would not have made if I hadn't been so worried about my portfolio. I kept investing, but I couldn't determine whether to start paying for a house. In the end, I sold my positions, and the house needed more work than I had planned. I'm not sure how long I can keep going like this

as someone who knows nothing about tech, i recently read that GPU's are what make Nvidia chips so desirable. and while they are not the only tech company that is able to make them, most tech engineers have trained to create these GPU's using they're program format. so not only do they have the 13 secret herbs and spices but they have the garden where they're grown on lock as well... seemingly

NVIDIA has a large lead on AMD for AI. AMD hasn’t even released AI for consumer gaming yet. NVIDIA is already using its third iteration of DLSS for a while. NVIDIA AI compute products are expensive but they can replace many older systems and reduce energy cost substantially. Or if you are creating new data centers and need AI compute. The latest NVIDIA AI compute products and services take up much less space.
As much as AMD has stollen market share from Intel in the custom PC market. Intel still dominates the PC Laptop market. Intel’s biggest competitor in PC laptop market will be Qualcomm. ARM based CPUs are just way more power efficient than x86. Intel’s future is becoming an alternative to TSMC once their new Arizona FAB comes online.
NVIDIA, Apple, Google, and AMD would be nothing without TSMC making their chips.

Respectful Greetings!
CNBC Channel.
Chip-maker Nvidia became the world’s most valuable company after its share price climbed to an all-time high on Tuesday.
It is now worth $3.34tn (£2.63tn), with the price having nearly doubled since the start of this year.
The stock ended the trading day at nearly $136, up 3.5%, making it more valuable than fellow tech giant Microsoft. It overtook Apple earlier this month.
The Californian company's meteoric rise has been fuelled by its dominance of what analysts call the "new gold or oil in the tech sector" - the chips needed for artificial intelligence (AI).
Best Regards:
Luís Van-Dúnem.

be averaging in on INTC folks... just nice and steady, bit at a time. It's been slow and low for so long.... it's likely not going to drop more unless it fails on some 3+ year plans. It'll be one of those moves where if it happens, it'll be many multiples up over a year or so. don't sink everything into it, but if they get this plan they're executing right/well-done - it's going to explode, and they'll be doing things for some of these parties which are being done by TSM presently... (And I say this while presently making bank on NVDA).

3:39 - The issue here is that Nvidia reigns supreme at developing gaming GPUs. This is an area that AMD and others just have not invested in. Those GPUs serve as the base for processing power. Until AMD, Intel, or others start putting out GPUs that rival Nvidias, then there is no metric of significant progress on their part.

NVIDIA know gaming and they understand what price range to sell their graphic cards when ATI Radeon was the undefeated top champion with their expensive Radeon graphic card 9700 pro. To sell a expensive graphic card like Radeon 9700 is a no brainer because Pentium 4 is a single core when these custoers who bought their first desktop want durable pc and can lasts long until the next generation of CPU arrived like the dual & quad core. NVIDIA sell cheap budget graphic cards like mx series to poor people and mid range card like titanium series to gamers who are first time buyer and capturing the hearts of millions of gamers although NVIDIA must earn less. NVIDIA Must earn less because that time errr NVIDIA unable to produce that kind of graphic card like Radeon 9700.

Anyone watching the GPU industry is aware that none of those companies mentioned has a chance of competing with Nvidia. By the time Intel launches anything, Nvidia is onto the next generation while Intel spends that time addressing issues. Nvidia's custom design language also has an unparalleled popularity as an ecosystem. Imagine Apple but actually making good products, that's Nvidia.

Strong BUY. Still early innings. NVIDIA is the dominant leader in AI and the preferred technology partner globally. Even w new competition on the horizon, NVIDIA is far ahead of the competition. 85% market share. 76% margin. Unrivaled demand for new Blackwell chip. Demand far exceeds production for Blackwell through to 2025 and beyond. No competitor has anything close to Blackwell. And forward P/E is about 33 (cheap for a high growth stock). Buy this stock and wait.

Well if the fundamentals are good, and NVIDIA is delivering high PROFITABILITY, (grew Net Income by 728% last quarter), then you will see that the stockprice is not rising as fast, and the company is becoming cheaper. For what it is doing, it deserves the multiple (PE Ratio) of 500 or more!

Nvidia is a strong company, yet it may not hold its position as the top stock for long. In the next 5-10 years, it could fall to 50% or less of its highest stock value. Physical limitations in creating smaller, more efficient, and cooler-running chips will be reached soon. When this occurs, there will be little incentive to upgrade, likely leading to stagnant profits. While waiting at the finish line, numerous competitors will likely aim to develop comparable products, which could further reduce Nvidia's profits.
TVs serve as a good comparison. Once people acquire large 4K TVs with superior color quality, the need for upgrades diminishes. If you purchase a high-end 4K TV today, it's likely to match the performance of models available 30 years from now, contrasting sharply with the significant quality differences seen in TVs from 30 years ago.

Microsoft's CEO is a South Asian. Google's CEO is a South Asian. Nvidia's CEO is an East Asian. East Asian countries' population (China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan): more than 1.5 billion people. South Asian countries' population (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka): more than 1.8 billion people.
No wonder the American companies employed people from these populations as their CEOs. These CEOs can make people of these huge populations feel attached to the companies. This helps the companies become more famous and generate more money/profits.
Sense of attachment. Because of Jensen Huang, most East Asian people support Nvidia. Because of Satya Nadella, most South Asian people support Microsoft. Because of Sindar Pichai, most South Asian people support Google. And these American companies are a success.
Tesla? Most Asian people don't support Tesla, because Elon Musk doesn't look Asian. But most white people support Elon Musk.

Chip-maker Nvidia has become the world’s most valuable company after its share price climbed to an all-time high on Tuesday.
It is now worth $3.34 trillion (£2.63 trillion), with the price having nearly doubled since the start of this year.
The firm is now more valuable than fellow tech giant Microsoft. It overtook Apple earlier this month.
The Californian company's meteoric rise has been fuelled by its dominance of what analysts call the "new gold or oil in the tech sector" - the chips needed for artificial intelligence (AI).

Purchasing a stock may seem straightforward, but selecting the correct stock without a proven strategy can be exceedingly challenging. I've been working on expanding my $210K portfolio for a while, and my primary obstacle is the lack of clear entry and exit strategies. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Terrible inaccurate reporting: Nvidia doesn't make anything themselves, they need TSMC to make all its chip designs and many other companies for packaging and memory chips. AMD also depend on TSMC for manufacturing their larger and faster Instinct GPUs which do come with higher amounts of higher bandwidth memory and also higher floating point performance.

Obviously, AI stocks will dominate 2024. Why I prefer NVIDIA is that they are better placed to maintain long term growth potential, and provide a platform for other AI companies. I know someone who has made more than 200% from NVIDIA. I'll also take these other recommendations you made.

No competitor has anything close to Blackwell and forward P/E is about 33 (cheap for a high growth stock). Buy this stock and wait. You will be rewarded.

What people don't understand: the remaining 6 of the Mag 7 buy as many chips as possible from NVIDIA. These 6 are the biggest Companies on earth.
And they have absolutely no plans to stop buying, since EACH ONE OF THEM wants to be first in the AI race.
Jensen Huang knows more about AI Chips than anybody else on the planet, and is a friend of TSMC's CEO.
Who controls AI, controls the Universe...
Do the math. It's a no brainer...
You NEED to own NVIDIA - and right now everything below 180 is still cheap...
If you thing that's exaggerated you will not believe your eyes when you see the price in 3 years...

This month I joined the NVDA millionaire club. I’ve been long since 2021 when my CFA said “Never sell this company, even if it goes down to $2 per share.” 2022 was scary seeing it drop to $120 per share, but my solution was to have an advisor who understands the science behind the stocks. It worked! I’m surfing the AI wave to more growth into the next few decades

I have no idea why. When I tried an AI to tell me when my next bus will come it read out a timetable from the first bus in the early morning until the last bus at night, so it obviously got the route and area of the bus right but it simply isn't even capable of working out what I asked. AI from my experience is nothing but hype and good in some areas but not in others.

I really appreciate the dedication in each video you post. Despite the dip in crypto, I still thank you for the level-headed financial advice. I started crypto investment with $4,345 and since following you for few weeks now, I’ve gotten $18,539 in my portfolio. Thanks so much Laurie wood
