Dr. Sinclair is the founding director of the Paul F. Glenn Laboratories, for the Biological Mechanisms of Aging at Harvard. In 2004, Sinclair, along with Andrew Perlman, Christoph Westphal, Richard Aldrich, Richard Pops, and Paul Schimmel, founded Sirtris Pharmaceuticals. Sirtris was focused on developing Sinclair's research into activators of sirtuins, work that began in the Guarente lab. The company was specifically focused on resveratrol formulations and derivatives as activators of the SIRT1 enzyme; Sinclair became known for making statements about resveratrol like: “(It's) as close to a miraculous molecule as you can find.... One hundred years from now, people will maybe be taking these molecules on a daily basis to prevent heart disease, stroke, and cancer. In 2011, Sinclair was also a co-founder of CohBar, along with Nir Barzilai and other colleagues. CoBar aimed to discover and develop novel peptides derived from mitochondria. In 2018, Sinclair was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for "distinguished service to medical research into the biology of ageing and lifespan extension, as a geneticist and academic, to biosecurity initiatives, and as an advocate for the study of science". Dr. David Sinclair has also authored 4 books: Lifespan: Why We Age – and Why We Don't Have To, How to Start an Evolution, Just In Time: The Discovery of Sirtuin and How it Will Change Everything, David's Wow - David Sinclair. Karen Andrea Brown Karen Andrea Brown 1 year ago Been taking NMN and trans-resveratrol and my glucose response has improved, I don't get an afternoon crash, my deep sleep and rem sleep increased, some of my grey hair strands have turned brown again at the roots. Also, my eczema under my eyes went away. Thanks Dr. David Sinclair! 18 Max Meier Max Meier 1 year ago That fact that he does actually look like he could be 35 at 50 definitely doesn't hurt his credibility 60 Phoenix Kepo Phoenix Kepo 1 year ago Loved the interview. Thank you for sharing Dr D Patrick. 5 Jeff V Jeff V 1 year ago Excellent interview, thank you. I have watched multiple interviews with Dr. Sinclair, and most were done by experts in science and of course genetics. This interview demonstrated the benefits of an exchange between a non-expert and Dr. Sinclair. There were many examples, but one is that Ms. Patrick often asked him to clarify certain comments and define some medical terms which makes the interview more comprehensible for laymen. In an expert-to-expert interview, the two people involved often forget their audience hasn't yet achieved a PhD in genetics! 34 Zach Uttke Zach Uttke 1 year ago Thank you for doing this! Super interesting conversation 14 Hunza, the dream Valley Hunza, the dream Valley 1 year ago (edited) #Davidsinclair should do solo programme, not interrupted by any one🙏🙏 7 Darren M Edmonds Darren M Edmonds 1 year ago Liked the laid back interview, drew out plenty of information. 13 Ponte Vedra Ponte Vedra 1 year ago Dr. SINCLAIR MUCH RESPECT TO YOU SIR. 10 Geza Szecsenyi Geza Szecsenyi 1 year ago I am Hungarian by birth, but I carry austrian-Jewish blood as well. I live in London UK now in the last 40 years. I do not eat Hungarian food. My father had pot belly. I never wanted to and up like him ! I never had problem with my wait. Always eat healthy, do exercise. I am 66 now, but everibody believes I am around early fifties. I like your research. I am sure you be 150 at list ! That is my personal aim. 3 MTZ SkunkWorks MTZ SkunkWorks 1 year ago Hell yeah, take the entire nuclear weapons budget and dump it into anti aging! 63 D Marie333 D Marie333 11 months ago My nana lived completely healthy to 113yrs, she was so adorable! She gardened, cooked, cleaned, went up and down stairs to and from her room, she cooked, cleaned, ate all things Italian, bread, pasta, meatballs etc, lived with her two sisters (who both smoked indoors + her husband did also while he was alive) She told me that it hurts to be that old before she left, but no medicine, only one advil a day, coffee, water, and occasional/often glass of red wine! We are in the gueniss book as her grandchildren! I used to eat steak often without a 2nd thought on ethics of it, untill I began having dreams from the pov of a cow, VERY traumatic dreams where in various heart wrenching scenarios, i would wake up in tears, sobbing, emotionally wrecked, like having my calfs ripped away from me, my friends i loved deeply swept away, helpless with hooves not hands, locked behind a fence, somehow intuitively i came to understand that the dna of these cows i had ingested, entering my being in a way that made their trauma a part of me... I've never eaten or craved eating any kind of dead animal flesh since this, also never had a nightmare like that again .... 1 Colin Morris Colin Morris 1 year ago Well done loved the way you were able to extract simple analogies question though is or has anyone extracted DNA from umbilical cords and transferred back to same mouse when it ages to see effects 1 Stef Alexandra Stef Alexandra 1 year ago I can see your excitement but you asked him a question then another just as he was about to answer the first one. 56 Brian Heffernan Brian Heffernan 1 year ago I just found your podcast, Danica. The way that he wants people live longer but healthy is excellent because we can enjoy our live and our loves one. Thank you for your amazing job. God Bless you! 1 Progress NotPerfection Progress NotPerfection 1 year ago Danicka your amazing for bring a great guest but also being an awesome interviewer! Perfect 👌 interview 7 Ruby Kazmierak Ruby Kazmierak 1 year ago An amazing and captivating man but I found the video hard to watch because the interviewer didn't match the tone of her soft-spoken guest. David has a very calm presence and is very easy to listen to - in contrast, Danica's questions and input sounded a bit like teenage outbursts......I suppose she intermittently stressed my system which might actually have some longevity benefits! 31 CG G CG G 1 year ago Danica did fine... This is an interview... Asking questions is how it begins and I didn't find her rude, she let her guest speak. This was fascinating. Thank you. Jason Sebring Jason Sebring 1 year ago I've watched all of David's videos and its pretty obvious he hasn't smiled more. :) 14 Vic O Vic O 1 year ago Great questions, keep it up! 2 Obi z Obi z 1 year ago I want to warn those who want to start HIIT (high-intensity interval training) workouts to activate their longevity genes. I've been doing HIIT workouts during the first quarantine on April and I got a stress fracture in my foot. This type of exercise puts literally a huge amount of stress on our body. It doesn't worth the risk of injury. I'm not even able to walk briskly for last few months. Please be careful and listen to your body - walk briskly or run in a low to moderate pace maybe twice or 3 times a week. 2 falcon127 falcon127 1 year ago LET THE GUY TALK<>>> PLEASE!!! 55 Summer2022 California Summer2022 California 1 year ago David Sinclair is great!😊 3 Bu Jin Bu Jin 11 months ago 1:18:20. I've read and watched a lot of Sinclair's stuff, and it's really difficult to get a handle on where you should get the items he discusses. (Trans Resveratrol, NMN, and Metformin.) The problem is you really can't trust must of the supplements you see being sold. (Are they pure and high quality?) Even if the company is reputable, if you buy the stuff through a reseller like Amazon, you don't know how long it has been sitting on the shelf, and molecules like NMN are not stable at room temperature. Which is to say nothing of how hot they get if you are shipping them during the summer. Basically, you need to keep these things refrigerated or in the freezer, and I think it would probably be best to buy them when it's cool if not cold outside, in order to preserve them in transit. So stock up on the whole year's supply in the cooler months. This is especially important for NMN, as if it degrades, it'll do the exact opposite of what you want it to do. Based off of the info Sinclair gives here, that you want an established company, which is GMP certified, which has had their products lab tested and certified, the best example of this I've managed to track down is Double Wood based out of Philadelphia. They were established in 2013, they are GMP certified with the FDA, and they do submit their supplements to third part labs and they post the certificates. Like I said above, I'd recommend buying direct (in order to minimize the amount of shelf time the item is likely to have logged). They offer a lot of things, including Trans Resveratrol, NMN, as well as Berberine (which may be an alternative to metformin). 1 Egg Mendy Egg Mendy 1 year ago So happy to see this guest! 4 rhyfelur rhyfelur 1 year ago Ignore the haters. If you sat any one of them down with Dr Sinclair, they would probably turn into babbling idiots. You asked good questions and were nicely composed. Also, Dr Sinclair appeared to genuinely enjoy having a normal, unpretentious conversation. 1 ahdaf naik ahdaf naik 1 year ago amazing podcast <3 4 Rose BW Rose BW 1 year ago Thank you for sharing your genius with this world thank you thank you thank you History Dave History Dave 1 year ago Stop interrupting your guest. 69 Talia Rappatone Talia Rappatone 1 year ago Fascinating!!!
