He’s a bit of a throwback to the explosive primary guards like Russell Westbrook and John Wall that I grew up watching. And his game really stands out compared to his peers at the point guard position. In a league where there’s such a prominent emphasis on perimeter scoring, Ja is unique as it really isn’t the focal point of his game. However despite the fact he isn’t some major perimeter threat, he’s still one of the best players in the NBA. In many ways he’s just as if not more impactful as he is exciting to watch. Which really says something because he’s one of the most exciting players in the NBA. Ja Morant is the poster child of one of my biggest beliefs about the modern NBA, despite the fact his game isn’t like most modern point guards. In this video I want to talk about how good Ja is, as well as why he represents modern NBA basketball more than you probably think he does. #terranovabasketballstudy #jamorant #memphisgrizzlies #nba 0:00 Intro 1:37 Statistical Profile 3:14 Rim Pressure 8:25 Playmaking 12:18 Player Value 17:08 Overview 20:24 Recap 21:04 Outro My Video Essay Channel: / @terranovavideoessays Weiss Schnee Video Essay: • Weiss Schnee Is Best Girl, However… Ruby Rose Video Essay: • My Problem With Ruby Rose... On this channel I make videos breaking down the film of basketball players in both long term and single game contexts. I use a combination of advanced stats, basic stats, tracking stats, and what I take away from watching the games to form my evalutions. My goal is to give my own perspective on the game with my own little twist on how I choose to present it. I don’t think green will ever have the playmaking chops, but I think green would be even more dangerous if he developed a solid floater. I’ve seen it open the offense for so many players, if green had a good floater like Ja has or even his teammate FVV has. Just going off what he is doing right now (I’m sure his number will regulate at some point), he shoots 75% at the rim and shoots 40% on 3s, but green shoots 27% in that floater/mid range spot, but Ja shoots 45%, I think if green could get that floater down he could get that around 35-37% which will make his fg% much better and he’d probably be at 30 points average instead of 27 rn 7 Reply Terranova Basketball Study · 1 reply @Shhh11. 2 weeks ago Ja always trying to finish instead of foul baiting is my favorite part of his game Reply @justanotherguy5048 3 weeks ago great video man! 1 Reply Terranova Basketball Study · 2 replies @pickleoudww7784 3 weeks ago 8:12 his floater game has always been there be it this seasons or prior ones!! If you watch the games (no shade) you can see that if not for the crazy finishes that are in the highlights most of the time he would finish with a floater in front of the rim 1 Reply @iguesss 3 weeks ago Bro can shoot 0% from 3 for the rest of the season on 5 shots a game and still be the best point guard 2 Reply 1 reply @smadhportgas1722 11 days ago We gonna skip his injuries part Reply @MrTonyJ 3 weeks ago Key your eyes on Jaden Ivey. 2 Reply Terranova Basketball Study · 6 replies
