I've always said there were many players better than Erving but no player evolved the game quicker than he did. The only thing that is missing the lakers is a rim protector. They do not need a very tall defender. What they need is a strong build warrior, intelligent and who can truly defend the rim. All he has to master is only free throw. Because most of the time he will be fouled by the opposing team. If they can look for a rim defender like that. Then I could say, they are indespensable.
