There is such a projection and crispness/intentionality to heifitz's playing. I listen and watch in awe 33 Reply 1 reply @markkelly3859 10 years ago I listened to Heifetz recordings when I was a child over 50 years ago, and I have still not heard his equal. 592 Reply 40 replies @malcolmdale 7 years ago After a concert a lady gushed to Heifetz "I'd give my life to play like you." Heifetz was my idol, and it is one of my regrets that I never heard him live, even though we both lived in Los Angeles: my parents packed me off to summer camp just when Heifetz was giving a series of performances at the Hollywood Bowl, and I still rather hold it against them. My father even had the nerve to say of Heifetz: "In many ways, he's a very unsatisfactory guy." If Heifetz didn't meet his standards, who on Earth could possibly have made the grade? But who knows? I'm seventy now, and maybe I'll get to hear him in Heaven.... 245 Reply 6 replies @CanadaWalks 4 years ago August 2021, Let's see how many people are listening to this 💕masterpiece 💕 1 Reply @frankharder4629 9 years ago When Heifetz's instructor named all of his students, he left Heifetz out. He walked out on stage and the first thing he did way play, Farmer in the Dell, with all the sounds.. we were floored. He then taught us what Music really was and how the love of music could change one's life. 26 Reply @godslisaru 1 month ago From a decent violinist....he's the best who ever was ❤❤❤ 1 Reply @wombat5628 6 years ago (edited) The actress, Marsha Hunt, born in 1917, is still alive, now soon to be age 102. His technique and bow control is beyond human understanding. But what makes this phenomenon is that when you listen his violin you hear his beautiful soul, and he could do it at any speed. His conservative I would say elegant stage demeanor just adds to his virtuosity. 5 Reply @aquilabianca9138 1 year ago Heifetz uno dei mostri sacri del violino!!!!! 1 Reply @RezaMolavi 5 years ago For the life of me, I cannot understand the FUCKING thumb downs. Truly jaw dropping! 3 Reply 1 reply @MrCenterofgravity 2 months ago The goat Reply @junlinyi4892 11 years ago Very smooth and relaxed, yet surprisingly tense and expressing at times. This concerto actually got me into Tchaikovsky's music. A very simply and beautiful piece such as this concerto can be extremely difficult to play, as all violinists have to realize. I'm sure Heifetz surpassed Tchaikovsky's expectation of any performance of his piece had he been there to see it. Heifetz surely deserves his reputation as the best violinist of the 20th century, if not of all time, in every aspect that music needs. 86 Reply @RatIceCream 9 years ago (edited) Best violinist of all time!! 252 Reply 25 replies @marxismisevil839 2 years ago Best Tjajkovskij ever!. Together, they are unsurpassable to date. He is not a cold performer, just accomplished and focusing on his own artistry. The music is played as Composers have always wanted it to be heard by their audiences, perfectly and magically. 2 Reply @jennifermorrison9923 7 years ago The master at work is Jascha we miss you the people who can play like this are a gift to us if we can stop for just a minuet and listen to the joy that it gives we will be blessed indeed KOR F 3 Reply @christianguignard9980 10 years ago Jacsha Heifetz nous offre de la première à la dernière note, un enchantement surnaturel. 3 Reply @tuttilynn3791 2 years ago Look how long his pinkie is….. We had a new member to our orchestra Yasha Heifitz's grandson. For that whole day we played music for Yasha and he joined in with us, too. I went on to learn the Oboe and English Horn through High School. We moved to Northern Vermont during my 7th grade and I attended a College Prep in Vermont, no cost as Vermont State law pay's for public high school if there isn't a one near by. I got to play with the Vermont Chamber Orchestra a couple times. I even learned the Bass Sax for our school's Jazz Band. But it was never the same again then that time in the San Fernando Valley, 1958. I'm just sorry I didn't persue the Bassoon too. I was drafted into the Army at 18 in 1966 went to Vietnam for 2 1/2 years and never picked up the instruments again. It's even better than this one, in my opinion. And, please, if you have a turntable, get it on vinyl. The original RCA Living Stereo release is very good, but the RCA .5 Series half-speed re-master is even better. Analogue Productions, the record label of Acoustic Sounds, has just come out with their own re-master on 200-gram vinyl from the original RCA 3-track analog master tapes, and I hear it's fabulous. If you don't have a turntable-get one! :) Otherwise, Analogue Productions has a superb hybrid SACD version of the recording that was also made from the original 3-track analog master tapes. 82 Reply 7 replies @yefanovagalina3956 4 years ago Слушая сердце замирает душа поёт не возможно написать словами спасибо богу за таких людей от которых вдохновляешься 3 Reply @M-L969 5 years ago 💐🎻💐💐 Reply @loves5leon 12 years ago Brilliant! In MOST cases, emotion in the performer translates to physical tension and takes away from the resonance. There is a level of musicianship where one can see the emotion/music from the outside so to speak, bypassing the tension and allowing for ultimate freedom. 12 Reply @PeggyakaSweetpea 7 years ago wow, wow, wow, let me catch my breath. This concerto was nearly perfect since he plucked the strings a few times which didn't make the piece as perfect. Another reason why I like him is because he practices simple scales from 5:00 to 7:00 every morning. I have to say that he is a master seen every five centuries. He is rare and talented.
