This interview goes straight into my Library for future reference. I am amazed how your guest covered wide range of topics within this time frame. This is like a high quality summary of info gave by dozens of other guests. On top of that, all the info he gave, as far as I know, is true. Total fun fact for me was when he recommended specific CoQ10 producer from Denmark that I know of, as someone who accidentally overdosed with the CoQ10 I have fond memories of the effects.
The only remark I might have is to emphasize that Rapamycin should never-ever be casually taken more often than once a week. Once a week, and it turns down mTORC1. Taking it daily, and it would turn down mTORC2 as well, which is generally toxic. Continuous use is only considered for immune suppression (transplant patients), and some cases of cancer as supplementary substance (seems to arrest tumor growth and/or metastases), both under strict medical supervision. Another potential issue is that Rapamycin tends to aggravate dislipidemia, however I have not checked if this is an issue in case intermittent use as well. This could be potentially checked with Dr Alan Green - if anyone knows, that's him.
The part about Lactobacillus fermentum me3 was a totally new information for me. I believe I will try this after I deplete my current GlyNAC reserves.
Thank you Richard, and thanks to Dr Pelton.

Lots of cardio, no alcohol, vitamins/minerals, proper body weight, creatine and Nicotinamide mononucleotide for me. I think a lot of cardio and NMN are the two most important. I don't know why they didn't mention NMN.

You could just get CoQ10 from a natural source, like liver or heart! That said, perhaps you should just test your levels before supplementing? Think this is true of all supplements.

7:30 aging as a disease. Seems like a hard sell, to try to change an accepted definition. However, what about the so-called "hallmarks of aging" measured in "epigenetic age" tests? I put them in quotes because they are too much like slogans for me, but maybe there is an argument that there are markers of aging that can be measured, that are also risk factors for diseases, like diabetes, cardiovascular etc. You take the epigenetic test and learn that your DNA is methylated and damaged, and so on. The markers are not indicating real illnesses, but higher probabilities of getting them. So the argument would be to treat risk factors for diseases, as well as the diseases themselves. That seems conceptually better than trying to argue that aging is a disease. This leads into science fictional concepts like "escape velocity" whereas treating risk factors sounds like it would promote public health.

And, what are those supplements again? Omega-3 oils, not a good longevity supplement if you know anything about PUFAs. Glutathione? Not a good supplement to take, ineffective, for elementary reasons to all that have read about glutathione supplements. Rapamycin has its drawbacks as well, and is not for everyone. Franky, I think you could find better people to interview regarding longevity, most of these just parrot the same thing. Can't remember her name, but the woman on one of the recent interviews, she rock climbs and all that, admits she is a junk food junky, her words. Do you think i am going to take health advice from someone like that {loss of credibility}? These so called experts think that if they talk about fasting, keto, and all that in vogue stuff, that they are somehow experts. And, more science is coming out to show why things like fasting and keto can be big problems. And, most of these experts have not caught on to the PUFA science yet, still recommending people load up on something that readily oxidizes in the body causing lipid peroxides, DNA damage, etc.

I've been holding off on this until there's more clinical trial data, but it's very tempting. I appreciate the guest's explanation of how to obtain it, and how to obtain a prescription using telemedicine. I did not know that it was legal to obtain a 3 month supply of a prescription drug from overseas, and think that may be the most important message in the whole video. I make a good salary but cannot afford medical insurance, which is about $800 a month at my age even though I'm in excellent health, then you still have to pay deductables for any medical care. Not to go on a rant, but the best solution to the extraordinary cost of medical care in the US isn't re-designing the whole system of insurance, etc. It's to use telemedicine and get evaluations and prescriptions from doctors overseas. Of course some things have to be done in person, but rapamycin is a perfect example of something that could be prescribed without a physical exam. I just had an eye exam, done by low paid technicians, followed by a 10 minute video consultation with the millionaire optometrist. Thanks again for this info - I will think about rapamycin, but the telemedicine idea should be the future of medical care, at least in the US.

I am a 53 year old cancer survivor. I started a 3 month trial of Rapamycin at 5mg 1x a week. I am in week 10 and have only noticed a side effect of feeling a coating in my mouth. I am losing weight and very happy so far. My local compounding pharmacy charges me $120 for 90 day supply. What's your opinion of doing this intermittently vs life long? I haven't decided what I should do? I have been in remission for 7 years but still get a SAM shot every 2 months. Sequenced amino acid modulation. I also take 4.5 mg of low dose naltrexone each night before bed. I am in good health and on no other medications except for occasional Ivermectin which is a whole other discussion. Thanks

@ModernHealthspan Hi Richard, I have read about Rapamycin many times, but was blocked by the need for a prescription. I have finally found a source. Pelton’s book is a paperback and sells for $125, so I will opt out. I note that he has a PhD, not an MD. His consultation fees of $200/hour are more inline with those of an MD. I know the world of celebrated PhDs in academia and $200/hr is unheard of. -Jenny

I ordered some Rapamycin after hearing this speaker tell us how to do it. However, I am not going to try it yet. This is a very powerful drug and I prefer to wait for proper tests to determine dosages, timings, side effects and effectiveness. There is too much guess work right now. Also, the website is for a company based in China. How can we be certain they are producing pure products? Are their products independently tested? I wrote them to find out, but have not had a response. Other companies make certificates available to the public. I was burnt before with a fake NMN supplement sold by a Chinese company and have learned to enquire.
