This man is so correct, I am in a whole plant base lifestyle for many years now, but I completely agree with what he is saying. I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was 38 years old and took medication for 10 years. According to my doctor, I needed to be on medication for the rest of my life, but I started to do my own research, and with a lot trial and error I was able to reverse diabetes and many other issues for that matter. I took my last medication on February 19 2007 and as today I am diabetes free. I don’t eat any processed foods, oils or store bought bread. My wife makes a bread with oats, flax and psyllium husk and that’s the only bread I eat. My last meal of the day is at 5pm and don’t eat breakfast. So I do 18,20 almost every day. I do a 24 hours fast once in a while. I am 65 years old 5’ 11 and weight 150 pounds. My A1c is 5.2 and feel better now than I did when I was 30. I exercise 6 days a week. I know there is a big fight in the social media about different diets and lifestyles, but I say, take the best that is scientifically proven and apply it to your life and situation.

Been on 24hr fast for a month and a half, so far dropped 18lbs. I eat only lunch, and I try and keep that well under 2000 calories, green tea in the morning with Benefiber, water with lemon the rest of the time. First two weeks was tough, but now I’m only hungry at lunch.

Great interview! Question on waist size/ abdominal fat. I've lost 60 lbs over the last 10 months...had a big belly and high A1c. Can any of my abdominal girth be anything other than fat? Loose skin etc,.,? Thanks for helping me improve so much Dr Fung!

This video was mind blowing! The Bible says We are fearfully and wonderfully made! The way Doctor Fung broke it down was crystal clear! I was told years ago I have fatty liver and I am a type 2diabetic! I am on insulin and I sorted out using humolog and lantus! I was steadily getting fatter! There was never any discussion of how these are all related until you explaining it so very well! Thank you for having fantastic knowable people on your channel to help us help ourselves strive for better life! God bless you both and I am now subscribing to your channel!

Dr is right about the glucose monitor being helpful. When you see what food causes spikes in real time, it will scare you to not ever eat that again. It has really helped me avoid carbs. Plus, you don’t have to keep pricking yourself multiple times a day. The sensor gets replaced every ten days, the transmitter every 30 days.
Ask your insurance if they will cover it. My insurance did. If they do cover it, then ask your doctor to prescribe it. My local CVS had it in stock, so I was able to immediately pick it up when my doctor gave the prescription.

Great video. I'm on my own meat and egg only diet that I guess could be called a keto diet. I walk about an hour a day. Weight loss is sooo slow. The exercise may not add much calorie burn but it adds up because it's day after day. I might burn 2400 calories a day but I have to eat about 2000 to feel full so that only leave 400 calorie deficit. Burning an extra 400 with exercise doubles it to 800 calories. At about 9 calories per gram of fat that's about 80g. So one month is about 2400g or about 5 lbs a month. It's so slow but that's 60lbs a year and I'm only about 60lbs over weight now. I have been researching intermittent fasting and probably why this video popped up. It makes sense but not sure it's super needed as long as you're not overeating. You still get to that point where you're pulling from the storage if you don't over eat. But now I understand why I'm feeling full and not overeating anymore. And I get it now that processed carbs are absorbed so fast without making me feel full. Of course intermittent fasting might work better for some and it's probably easier to manage. I just limit my eating to 500g of meat for my main meal. About 4 or 5 eggs for breakfast. Couple of pepperrettes for lunch snack and evening snack. It may seem like a lot but when you eat zero bread, zero chips, zero pop then you can tell it's just so much less calories a day then before. Note the pepperrettes are processed of course but it's not all carbs like a pack of chips. Also I am using mayo with my chicken breast. I used ketchup with meat but now I'm using hot sauce instead most of the time. Ketchup is the odd treat now lol. I do want to add unprocessed carbs back into the diet eventually but I have other medical issues that recommend zero carbs to fix. One big helper for me was a step tracker. It's amazing how few steps you can do in one day. I think I did about 360 one time in a whole day and that was eye opening. Now I do about 6000 to 10000 steps a day but it's really half that since tracker counts 2 to 1. But now I think the whole day I only walked 1 hour out of 24 hours and that was almost all the movement I did for the whole day. Muscles atrophy if you don't use them. We need to be more active. Clean the house more or fix something. I'm trying but so much youtube to watch! lol But just having that hour a day is something at least. Eat less move more really does make sense.

Very good podcast, I have tried the keto but like to have fruit at times until I learned an apple has more sugar than a donut, I quit snacking 4 weeks ago but do have unbleached flour bread for a sandwich, so doing more meat.. My problem that the Mayo clinic also finds, when I got type 2, my testosterone went way down, Mayo says it should be taken care of but the doctors ignored it, which made it hard to work, so now with no income, can't go see a doctor for every little change, the clinic will not renew my meds, so I'm getting serious with a meat diet with some veg's. walks and after 4 weeks I've notice a difference, with this podcast, hopefully I won't need meds again, but sure miss the grapes and plums. thanks for the podcast.

Focus on the goals not on calories and weight. If we do the right things then we will get good results. And be patient to allow it to work. Take time to see it depending on our lifestyle and what we put in. Experiment different ways to see what works best. I tried and finally get my blood glucose down to 75 from prediabetic always over 110 after 16 hours fasting. There is always a formula to follow and should be doing correctly to get results. Yes I finally get down to 75 fasting test in the morning, first time after 2 decades living with prediabetes. It takes only one week to change a bit around and do it properly.

I reduced my AIC from 9.6 down to 5.8. Took six months but slowly came down with diet and Doc meds (which have been reduced). I don't skip my favorite foods but monitor and have a little - sometimes- to enjoy and go back to monitoring carefully. I don't deny myself favorites. Ex: Birthday cake I have a very small sliver and skip frosting. Pasta is on occasion and not a full plate full with some protein and salad (lemon and oil dressing). It seems to be working for me but for some reason have only lost three lbs and put it back on quickly. Can't seem to get rid of the mid fat! Work in progress!

Dr. Fung, your explanation of urinating causing a flushing of a small portion of glucose from one's pancreas, does explain, for me, why me drinking a lot of water, has usually caused some weight loss. That fact is causing me to start some serious intermittent fasting to assist reversal of current my overweight condition. The simple answer to all this is simply to keep one's mouth shut for as long as is possible, .....and do it on a regular basis!

I am dm2 for last 20 yrs.I am doing 16 hrs if , at least 5 days a week for last 3 yrs. Sometimes it's even 6 or7 days a week. Sometimes I fast longer for 18,20, or even 24 hrs. I lost some weight in the first year and then stopped there. My B's before first meal at about 12.30 or even at 4.00 pm remains at 7 or higher mmol. If it sometimes reaches 6 ,I start feeling slightly hypoglycemic.I walk at least 10000 steps most days, some jogging, something power yoga . I am trying to bring my fasting sugars nearer to 6 mmol,or less. Have not managed to fast longer. I now take 1000 mgms of metformin after dinner. If I take 1000 mgms in morning also,I get stomach upset. Anyone who can help me?

I grew up in the 1970s. (68). I had severe anxiety neurosis and ADHD by 1980... and I used to eat Super Sugar Crisp cereal and , white toast with marjorin and jam and a Mt Dew. I was not obese and because I wasn't NO ONE said a thing. I was allowed to eat Chocolate icing out of a can!. I had major mental health ADHD and mood issues.... but no one thought to look at my diet as a thing. Fast forward. I am now 54 Still have anxiety and ADHD and was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder in 2020 and now I also have Diabetes.... KETO helped years ago but the pandemic messed that up. Now I am trying to correct this situation.

Consider doing a follow up interview with Dr Fung to specifically address type 2 diabetes in persons who are not overweight or fat; that is, people who are normal weight or thin. What are other risk factors for type 2 diabetes besides metabolic syndrome? Please don’t tell me age and genetics like my doctor did. I think that’s a cop out.

Much respect to the doctor, but I think that we’ve gotten it wrong in terms of what causes insulin resistance and type two diabetes. It’s not an issue of carbs and hyper insulinemia on face value. What is most likely an issue of is chronic Randle cycle activation through the consumption of processed carbs and fats together, as found in standard western diet.

I propose someone setup a medically guided weightloss clinic for fasting, like a sugar rehab of sorts. Keep patients hooked up to IV, on something that makes them nauseous n groggy until they are deep into ketosis then watch the weight drop off. Insulin levels if injected because of type 2 diabetes monitored n lowered as weight is lost.

Isn’t there concern of crashing one’s metabolism by fasting?

I thought the carbohydrate insulin model of obesity had been refuted. It’s not about carbs vs fat. It’s about processed foods making people eat too many calories. Too many calories over time makes you store fat in your muscle, liver and pancreas which then causes diabetes.

Is it really a reversal or just managing without drugs? I mean, if you "reverse" it then treat yourself now and then to yummy-oh-so-bad-for-you carbs does the condition start returning right away or only if you fall back into previous habits?

Hello Dr. Chappus, this is Toni Cathey. I am pre diabetic and i am a flexitarian I wasn’t eating meat for a while because I was watching these vegan documentaries, but as it turns out I started eating meat again I eat from places such as Wendy’s Popeyes, burgerking, and other places as well. What can you recommend me to eat instead of these foods?

Doing low carb my AIC has dropped from 11 at one times years ago to 6.0. I need to be more careful with what I eat. At one point I did get my doctor and insurance to prescribe FreeStyle Libre. But it was never as accurate or as consistent as my finger prick meter. I even used three meters for a short time to gauge the accuracy of the CGM and found it gave readings that were 20-40 units lower than my finger prick meter. Also once my A1C dropped to 6.0 the insurance company would not pay for it stating I did not need it. I will try intermittent fasting to see if I can do it. Of course I can do it but expect to be hungry most of the time. Thanks for the video.

There is no "one size fits all" approach to how to manage your diabetes. Everyone is different and foods affect people in different ways. Low carb works for me but IF and OMAD are ridiculous.

Because of physical problems, I do not exercise. BUT, I have my diabetes completely under control by eating a piece of meat along with low carb veggies plus let me add OMAD ( one meal a day ). I began this 13 months ago and it has been fantastic. NOW, if you want to be able to cheat without it making a dab of difference in your blood glucose tests, let me know and I will tell you what I do. I can have a small dessert with one high carb food during my meal and my blood sugar will be anywhere from 95 to 100 ( which in my case means “ no insulin today “, only my pills. ) ❤️

I don't necessarily believe that they thought formula was better than breast milk, but the choices women made and continue to make about formula is based (as was in my case) on the convenience factor and great numbers of women entering the work force. I never wanted to breast feed my 3 children but it should always be a woman's choice. Nobody tried to force either on me. I was a working woman and it was damned inconvenient and the fact that I never felt I missed anything by not breast feeding. My children were all relatively healthy babies. There is no proof either is better than the other. I refuse to accept the guilt factor over breastfeeding that is heaped on mothers no matter which one they choose. I know a lot of formula fed people who are healthier than their breast fed counterparts especially in my family. Health is greatly based on genetics and environment and not the breast/formula factor. It doesn’t get cured. It just keeps your numbers in check. I am a 125 lb diabetic. Who is vegan for 20 years.
I have never taken meds and was diagnosed 30 years ago. I am the most self disciplined person you’ll ever meet. I am still diabetic. Who can’t eat hardly ANY food that won’t raise my sugar. Also, I don’t eat ANY CARBS. FOR over 15 years. None. I fast and exercise every day. So… this isn’t 100% true.

And it is going to take you an hour to tell us this? I've been taking Magnesium for years, but not for my diabetes because it has a very small affect on it. I take it for my heart and it is awesome. I take Chromium Picolinate for my diabetes and it is awesome too. I don't believe you can reverse diabetes either. Just get your blood sugar back to normal by staying on these supplements.

Don't believe everything he says, it's like he's talking about a particular type of person, if the funding isn't there to give occupational therapy and all the financial support to the people that need it, then it's completely useless and just as damaging as giving drugs that don't work. Should a GP surgery become green grocery stores and an employer be a fitness coach, those medical professional, highly educated people but still use the same system because drug companies pay them.

Dr. Fung, you said the government was wrong. That is impossible, the government is never wrong. The government knows what is best for us. Government is smarter than we are and we should never doubt them. They know so much because they are so smart and we should let them have much more control of our money, our children, and everything! You should be more respectful of our government.

The information you give is too general and is available everywhere. If you want to help people, you should be much more specific. Talking only about how the body absorbs sugar does not help. You need to focus on what to eat, what time to eat, drinking water, and more. What about fruits and vegetables? You never mentioned it at all.

In February of 2021 I was told that I was fully diabetic (type 2) when my morning test came in at 8.1. My doctor wanted to put me on meds and I refused, I asked him to give me 6 months to reverse it, reluctantly he gave me 4 months. I went on keto and intermitten fasting and in 4 months my a1c test came in at 4.9. He was shocked! He told me I am diabetic for life and that diabetes cannot be reversed and asked me to retest in 3 months which again came in at 4.9. One year later my diet is still low carb and I am still at A1c 4.9. I will keep this up for as long as I can...

I was diagnosed type 2 a month ago. Doctor gave me metformin. Started 16 hour fast that week graduated to 18 hours a week later then went to 20 to 24 hrs alternate fast my 3rd week. I just now finished a 3 days fast and used my accu-check tester. My glucose is at 71 after 3 day fast. It was reading at 130 a month ago before I have my meals. I think I'm going to stick with 16-18 daily fast and do a 3 day fast every other month. I want to thank you for all the information you provide this is a life saver.
FYI I did stop metformin before doing the 3 day fast.

I've read Obesity Code, Cancer Code, and Diabetes Code already.
Just here to give my support and a thumbs up to the man who saved my life.
I don't have a belly anymore. I never had diabetes, Alzheimer's, or cancer.
I'm sure my IF practices will help keep me healthy and reduce the chances of those happening.
So thanks Dr. Jason Fung for keeping me healthy and saving my life from a hazardous health future.

Found out I had diabetes almost 2 months ago and got my A1C from 12% to 7% so far. Thanks to you, I purchased your book and took your advice. Even after my dr told me how dangerous fasting and keto is and for me not to fast. I’m documenting my journey to prove it can be done. I go back in October for my 3 months blood work. Can’t wait to see the results. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

This does work, but if you have been diabetic like I have for over 20 years, it takes time to reverse everything back to healthy. I’m still on my journey, insulin free after 10 months, and my baseline blood sugar is now below 180, when I started this road, my baseline blood glucose was over 330!

Dr. Fung deserves all the success and praise. I had this T2D three years ago and understood this disease from his YouTube videos and lectures. I have been living a healthy life style without any of the diabetic drugs at all from the beginning.
I am really grateful for your lecture , watching your videos don't cost me a penny but gains a lot of insights to this disease.
Thank you ,Doctor.

I am so grateful that I came across the first interview you gave (during covid, I think) in the lab about fasting. It is the best, healthiest and fastest way to lose weight and feel great, Thank you so much for taking complex medical information and presenting it in down-to-earth, sane and simple terms for worn done people who have tried every whack-a-mole diet known to man that always resulted in repeated failures.

I had Metabolic Disease my entire life. I was, at one point, up to 300lbs with an A1c of 12. I had bariatric surgery in '93. I dropped weight to 207lbs and took 3 years to regain it all. Thanks for telling me to eat carbs, ADA.
At 62 (2020), I began a ketovore lifestyle. At the time, I was 240lbs, with an A1c of 8.3. I was also on 12 medications, including insulin shots.
Fast forward to Aug 2022 and at 64 (female), I'm 160lbs with an A1c of 5.2.
I'm off all meds.
And I believe I have hyperinsulinemia. My latest blood tests show my fasting glucose at 121 yet an A1c of 5.2.
It's frustrating, yet I'll never go back. 👍

You are a true doctor Jason! More doctors need to practice improving real heath and not practice drug-backed medicine. I was just diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and have already seen great improvement over the past 3-4 weeks going on a LCHF diet. Your guidance has given me hope of absolutely reversing this disease so long as I take care of my diet. I thank you and even though they don't know it yet, so do my children!

I owe Dr Fung a lot. I was pre-diabetic at 6.4, and at one point only 0.5 away from being a full-blown diabetic. My doctor said if my hemoglobin a1c went up to 6.5 he was going to put me on medication. With Dr. Fung's instruction through his teachings my hgb today was 5.8 at 6 months later (less than 5.7 is normal). Not only that, I lost 14 lbs and feel the greatest I've ever been in a long long time. Not only physically good, but mentally good. Thank you Dr. Fung, I tell all my patients and co-workers about you.

This is so assuring. I am 52 yo, and have struggled with keeping my a1c to below 6, with my sugar craving out of control as it became more and more a comfort food to combat stress or my busy schedule. I thought body and appetite will just go out of control since my late mother and grandmother is diabetic and died of multiple organ failure. I really thought there is absolutely nothing I can do about it until you showed a clear map of what will happen and what can happen instead with fasting. You are really God sent, Dr Jason Fung

I do not know what the latest scientific literature says, but I know that by the A1C diagnostic criterion, after losing 80 pounds, I am no longer considered diabetic after many years of insulin shots. I used intermittent fasting and it is now part of my lifestyle. Though I am not a "patient" of Dr. Fong (I live in Italy), but following the advice I got here, my blood studies are normal. My endocrinologist say she has never seen anything like it in 20 years of practice. I actually had to argue with her to take me off insulin using the current information I got here from Dr. Fung and, to her credit, she listened and checked the literature herself. At my examinations 3 and 6 months post discontinuation of insulin, my A1C went down in the blood studies. I cannot thank Dr. Fong enough! fungsterNiice

Reading the Obesity Code many years ago was life changing for me. My endocrinologist told me at the time that I would be full blown diabetic within just a few years. My mother died from diabetes complications at 67 so I was determined I wasn't going down that path. And now well over 10 years later my A1c hasn't ever gone over 5.7.

Dr Fung, I have no words to appreciate you and this Lecture, you are doing excellent job for humanity, I have been watching you since two years now. I was diabetic with HBa1c 6.8 learnt a lot from your videos, then started treating my self with Low carb high fat diet & IF, reduced my weight down by 16 kg to a BMI 22 my weight is 62 Kg now, ( no further room to reduce :) ) all this bring down my HBa1c to 5.3. Now I am just maintaining it since 1.5 years. this makes me interest to study Keto, Low carb, IF & dry fasting, now I am volunteering by treating other people to reverse Obesity, diabetes PCOs etc. This lecture is a class of its king it explain insulin resistance & fatty liver in detail and even a layman person like me understood the basic concept. Once again thank you Dr Fung.

Dr Fung, great presentation as per usual !! It would be great to have a similar presentation on the process and physiology in the body, when someone eats fats (both saturated and non saturated). It would be helpful when chatting with low fat WFPB folks who argue that it is the fat that clogs the cells, liver etc. I personally follow a low carb high fat diet.

Doing a 72 h fast every week got my uncontrallable blood pressure down to normal in just one month, and took away my brain fog and constant hunger.
Some of the many benefits of fasting and a lower carb whole food diet on the immune system, blood pressure, blood sugar and anti-aging, all backed up by clinical data:
Fribrosis/scarring is reversed. Reflexes and short term memory are increased.
The hunger hormone ghrelin lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting
Thymus stem cells are regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system.
Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria and viruses by the immune system.
Blood pressure is quickly and dramatically lowered, which is very important for a good outcome with the current pandemic.
Fasting increases nitric oxide, which has manifold postive effects like reducing arterial plaque.
Weight loss from fasting only loses10% lean tissue and 90% fat compared to the typical 25% lean tissue and 75% fat lost when calorically restricting for long periods.
Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body.
Vitamin D plasma levels are increased, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy!
Blood sugar and insulin are lowered, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Ideal blood sugar is around 80. Some viruses activate glycolosis (the release of sugar in the body) and clinically it has been shown that decreasing glucose metabolism in the body weakens the influenza virus.
Is fasting just the same as caloric restriction? No! Dieting increases the hunger hormone ghrelin while fasting decreases it and has many other health benefits! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVl-nilhWLc
What breaks a fast? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aRLsCpxy3o
When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell which are used to produce organelles and proteins. This means the mechanisms needed by viruses to replicate are by and large unavailable when you are in a deeply fasted state.
Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it and builds muscle!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJUDucBWv4s
Fasts of several days will not affect short term female fertility and may increase long term fertility especially in women with PCOS.
Fasts from 36-96 h actually INCREASE metabolic rate! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeC_gIR2Z14
The hormone Leptin is an immunomodulator that keeps the body from attacking itself and obesity causes leptin resistance. Fasting very quickly reduces leptin resistance and leptin levels and one day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again!
Does the body preferentially prefer glucose as a fuel? No, it never uses mainly glucose for fuel and using glucose for fuel is very biochemically damaging! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nf1jwMbvNxw
Fasting stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle foreign matter such as viruses and kill cancerous and senescent cells. AMPK does many helpful things in the body including activating the body's antioxidant defenses.
Fasting can make you gain muscle faster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RM8GRzsIIg
Deep ketosis virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body. This can offset the life threatening symptoms of viral pneumonia which effectively kills you through inflammation. This also creates BHB ketones in your body, which also help your immune system and anti-oxidative system, especially in the brain. Ketones also provide an additional energy source during infection, which is critical when trying to fight off a bug. In fact you can have as much as three times the total energy available in your blood when you are in deep ketosis, or even more.
It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency and thereby making cells better able to fight off infection. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism and cancer prevention!
Your body releases interferon which is also triggered by the body during viral attacks to shut down the replication ability of the surrounding cells and stop infections.
After 72 hours or more fasted, your body actually recycles large numbers of immune bodies and creates new ones, rejuvenating your entire system.
When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells. This kills these cells off completely. Senescent cells are responsible for the effects of aging and are the root cause of the development of cancer. If it were possible to destroy them all it would completely stop aging and cancer. That is not possible but fasting can help limit these effects by killing off many of the affected cells and limiting the future effects of aging.
Fasting also releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth, helping a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers.
In fact, the biochemical regulator of BDNF production is beta-hydroxybutyrate, which is the same ketone the body produces to nourish the brain while fasting.
Autophagy induced by fasting even helps hair regrow.
Dieters losing weight through intermittent fasting show greater reduction in waist size and increase in insulin sensitivity for the same weight lost and alternate day fasters were shown to lose fat while gaining muscle at the same time over a six month period.
Fasting reverses metabolic syndrome, which is tightly correlated to Chronic Fatiguque Syndrome, high blood pressurecancer and many other chronic diseases.
Fasting has been shown to increase bone marrow volume by 10% and levels of carnosine in the body in as little as a few weeks.
Fasting also increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level.
Eating one meal a day can bring most of these benefits to a lesser degree, and adding a few entire days off from eating per week will have even more effect especially when starting to feel poorly.
Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia.
Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. Those with Addison's disease may also be unable to fast without liberal use of exogenous ketones, depending on severity. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness then simply break the fast and seek advice.

As someone who listened to your advice 6 years ago, not only did I drop weight without tryjng, after years of struggling with low calorie low fat diets, but I also completely reversed my Type-2 diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure without medication and kept it that way years later. I love my ultra low carb diet and intermittent fasting. It has saved my life and I feel better now than I ever did. Thanks you Dr. Fung!

Although a lot of this was over my head I still found it very interesting, and surprising that someone hadn't thought earlier that it was a stupid idea to prescribe insulin to someone suffering because they had too much insulin? Well done Doc Fung.

Excellent presentation, attack the cause and not the symptom. As I aged to 60s, I switch eating habits to allow 15-18 hours of fasting. This greatly helped, now I understand better why. Insulin overflow, interesting- hope more doctors get on the band wagon. Most are still treating the symptom.

Doctor Fung I just want to say thank you for for setting off the light bulb in my brain!!!🧠 I’ve have always felt like a mouse on a spinning wheel sense 1998 when my primary doctor put me on Metformin. I’ve been a diabetic for 24 year now and in 2006 I started taking 2 types of insulin. I am now trying intermediate fasting that my sister introduced me too and it seems to be working. I hope soon I can stop taking these insulins!.I have been doing a 16-8 intermediate fasting and I am on Ozempic and it is curbing my appetite and assisting me in this weight loss journey….again thank you for helping me turn the light bulb on in my brain to get me heading in the right direction. I hope to meet you one day to thank you in person. I am grateful for the information that you’ve put out that is helping me and others. I will always be grateful.

Greetings Dr Fungster & all...I started with you @ the top of the pandemic and went from a woman standing @ 5'9 & 193.7 lbs and dropped down to 170 in 6 Mos. I have more energy to chase my sweet cubs and I am avoiding family history of diabetes, fatty liver and CKD. I've gotten comfortable again, remain @ 170/173 BUT...tomorrow starts my renewal of fasting & low carbs. Thank God for dropping this video off this am and God bless!

I have pretty much reversed by following a keto diet with OMAD. I had terrible Hb1Ac numbers the first few tests but the last 2 have been stable at just above normal levels. This has made the doctors stop talking about drugs [which i never took]. Blood pressure is down too, though still not as low as I might like - I just think I am on the high end of the range and don't worry about it.

My daddy took metphormin for years but then had to go to insulin. He wasn’t overweight though towards the end of his life. Of course he was on the standard diabetic diet. His type 2 diabetes effected everything in his body and he died from heart disease. I wish I had know this years before.

When I was first diagnosed as a diabetic in a Dr.s office. My blood sugars were at 583. I just got done hitting Taco bell. Had damned near everything on the menu. Plus about 5 big gulps mountain dews. I was shaking like a tea kettle about to explode off a stove top. 🤪 diabetes a vicious 🚲. How true Dr. Jason Fung.

Dr.Fung. I listened to your previous medical lectures and you previously discussed how fructose is metabolized in the liver which raises insulin and could cause a fatty liver. You distinctly distinguished between fructose and glucose. However, in this lecture you discuss glucose in relation to a fatty liver and triglycerides. Has your medical opinion on this changed over the years since you wrote the obesity code? Please clarify

6 years I have been type 2. Took my meds religiously and followed the low fat high carb diat my doctor gave me. I have recently been following a high fat med protein low carb diet. My numbers are all going down on my meter. I am losing a bit of weight and I have more energy. I knew about the bariatric surgery patients and spoke to my doctor about it. I wasn't that much overweight to get surgery. which I didn't want. I just wanted to know what they had to eat after surgery. Then I found out that they reverse the type 2 before losing significant weight. I am hoping to keep on track to get my numbers down and keep them down
Listening to this man has helped a lot.

Recently, just went from 20 carbs a day to zero and my BG is always running high. I'm getting tired. Started Keto last September and I lost 70lbs and my A1C went from 7.4 to 6.3, but due to back injury and lack of excercise, it went back-up to 7.4. So as of August, I went carnivore, but with some seasoning. Lol Problem is, A1C is still high...I have maintained my weight loss for a year now, but I can't lose anymore, but I'm not gaining either. Hence the reason to zero carbs. We will see if this helps. Also doing IF and some longer fasting. Cheers!

I had a LP-IR score of 66, which is really high, all while having A1c of 5.7, insulin of 10 and fasting glucose of 92. You can be severely insulin resistant without having really high insulin levels, it appears. All while taking 1000 mg per day of metformin.

STOP taking statin drugs for a start. I was on them for 10 years before being diagnosed with T2D. I finally stopped against my doctor's advice (10 years ago and NO heart problems before or since). My T2D has subsided and I can pretty much eat normally. I was never a carbaholic or pop-drinker so my diet was healthy anyway. But, the statins caused me to gain 100 pounds, which I'm slowly getting rid of. It's much more difficult to lose weight with those drugs and their after effects. I didn't have that much trouble before. I was 5'10" and 150 lbs before I started the statins with no history of obesity my whole life. But, it is very difficult to lose weight now after being on those damned drugs.

I am currently on day 6 of my fast but a few days ago I started to get a bad acid feel in my stomach and a couple of times It came up to my throat which made me feel nauseous. This acid feeling is still going and its a bit uncomfortable, otherwise everything else is fine. I was wondering if there was a way I could reduce this acid whilst in my fast? Thanks!

You need to make people aware that the longer you have type 2 diabetes the less likely for most people that you will be able to reverse it with fasting and a ketogenic diet. I’ve had many health improvements over the past 2 1/2 years of keto and fasting but I have yet to reverse the diabetes. I’ve been type 2 for 24 years. I can’t begin to tell you how frustrating it is to do everything possible with diet, fasting and exercise and still not reverse the diabetes. Telling people that they will surely reverse it with these means is setting them up to feel like a failure and an anomaly. Bottom line is I’m tired of false hope. I don’t believe I could of tried more to put diabetes in remission. I’m grateful for all the other health improvements and the 50 pound weight loss but very disappointed that I was lead to believe I could reverse the diabetes and yes I’ve been tested for type one, MODY and LADA and I do not have any of them.

Dr Fung makes it sound so simple and easy, though he has been correctly campaining for a more enlightened diabetes approach for some years now. However, there are underlying factors, like bad food, usually highly processed, containing things like high fructose corn syrup, GMO, MSG and sweetners with misleading labels on packaging. Plus farm soils depleted of minerals.
Snacking is the thing most under our control. It takes around 12 hours for insulin to subside in the human body. If you don't fast for 12 hours plus most days, then according to Dr. Fung, the sugar system gets gummed up because it cannot reset with insulin present. Education about the need to fast is one key, controlling the food industry and not letting them hide toxins in labelling is another.
Dr. Fung focussed on the physical and biochemical damage of diabetes, but I found the impotence of brain fog to be the worst affliction. Thank god that's reversible too. :)

36:08 so true. If you don't have enough water to flush the glucose, I believe your mouth will dry and you'll be thirsty all the time. That's because your body wants to get rid of that glucose and it's telling you to drink more fluids! Your body knows. Whoever designed the body was a genius. They thought of all of this.

God Bless you Dr. Fung! Your videos are so very important and I am sure following your advice has already saved very many lives... I have been mostly on a Carnivore diet for the past three years and I feel so much better that when I tried to be vegan for many years. I try hard to keep away from carbs though I do slip occasionally. I do find fasting very challenging, so I have not lost any weight if I don't fast... If I do fast though, I lose a pound a day... I will try again.

Think of all the specialist put out of business. If we adopted these changes.
Not to mention big Pharma peeps. I love it.
Thanks Dr Fung

In 2001, my grandma was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. She had taken care of and eventually buried her partner due to diabetes complications and she didn’t want that to be her faith. She changed her eating habits. And a “shamman” who didn’t know she was medically diagnosed told her, “you have diabetes right? (My grandma denied it, she wouldn’t talk to family about her diagnosis let alone a stranger) But you have the cure right here in your front yard.” He told my grandma to make teas from the bark of a tree we had in our front yard. few months later she went to the doctor and the diabetes was gone. My grandma is now 75 years old and has never again been diagnosed with diabetes or prediabetes or insulin resistance.
The doctor couldn’t believe it, said it was a miracle and told my grandma that diabetes was incurable but encouraged her to continue doing what she was doing.

Dr. Fung, I'm 24 minutes into this wonderful lecture and had to stop to find when you gave it. PLEASE add the dates of your lectures in the beginning of your videos and/or in the descriptions. It is important for your viewers as well as to whom we recommend your lectures/books.
It appears from what I could google, that this lecture was given as part of the "30th Annual Clinical Day in Family Medicine" in London, Ontario on May 11, 2022.

Thank you for your videos, I have watched many of them. One question I can't seem to get an answer to. I have Type 2 diabetes and I have been doing a low carb diet with 16 to 18 hour intermittent fasting for nearly 2 months. My blood sugars are down and I have reduced my medications. However, my blood sugars remain higher than normal: 125 to 170. Will I ever see normal blood sugar readings?

I have extremely high cholesterol and I'm very scared to take a statin because the warning says it can cause pre diabetes, which I have, to go into full blown type 2. I've been working on exercise and lower calorie diet but I think after watching this it is time to go back to Keto. I don't want to take a statin and I think after getting my weight down and controlling diet I can lower cholesterol on my own.

I’m blown away! My old doc said I would die without carbs. My previous OB doc said “just cut down on the cookies” while she never asked me if I ATE COOKIES! My group health doc told me that patients don’t follow medical advice so why bother to teach us about T2. You have brought the truth to me, treated me like an intelligent adult who can comprehend and learn to heal myself. I am ever grateful.

I find many doctors can’t or won’t think outside the box. And I think some are actually just plain lazy. No matter the case, they often won’t listen to their patients. I have tried to get my PCP, who is an internal medicine specialist, and an endocrinologist, who I “inherited” because my previous one moved away, to view some of your talks and check into your research. Neither would or did. I was looking for someone who was or would familiarize themselves with your information so they could assist me with managing my insulin as I embarked on my “journey.” No luck! So I made a long drive to the Houston area (1100 miles) and saw Dr. Nadir Ali , MD, cardiologist. To make a long story short I am back home in Arizona and have recently begun a low-carb diet, losing 11.6 # in the 1st 2 weeks.

it’s very relieving that finally I get the data and summary that type 2 D is reversible ! all this time still in my mind I am thinking that my IF and keto/LCHF diet has not enough basic knowledge, but I get the benefit, of course. I just afraid that if my keto/IF doesn’t work then I have to take diabetes med for good.
I am waiting for somebody officially tells that high blood pressure is reversible as well and I can stop my med. 🙏🏼
thank you so much dr Fung 🫶🏼

It is only since I have retried that I realise now that I was not helping my Diabetic patients but just allowing them to continue with their poor lifestyles and very much controlled by guidelines driven by pharmaceutical profits rather than patients health. My sister is currently having a horrendous time with Parkinson's disease and I feel strongly that in the future a similar story will be told about many other Chronic diseases such as Parkinson's. Parkinson's patients are currently told Chronic - no cure, just take the meds =, which are again most likely making things worse, hence as with Diabetes poor prognosis. Fingers crossed someone like Dr Fung looks for the natural/environmental cause of Parkinson's soon. because the pharmaceutical companies certainly won't.

This man is a life saver 🛟. I stumbled on an old video where he spoke about intermittent fasting and it’s effects on glucose. I wasn’t listening keenly I will admit and fast forward later I came across his videos again and started listening 👂uninterrupted to what he had to say. Today I am more connected with my body and taking the steps I need to manage glucose along with diet improvement. I have his book and recipe book and i am forever grateful for this valuable information.
Doctors in America aren’t willing to give you insights like this and theres is an abundance of bloggers who’s aren’t medical professionals spreading misinformation. I trust more people will find Jason Fung and listen/read because this is valuable content on how we may sustain longer enjoyable lives.

I'm not convinced you can lose weight very easily if you have an infection like candida for example. (Not sure if you can starve an infection out of there. Maybe. ) I find that the infection keeps the blood sugar so high it doesn't matter what you eat because it's already too high...can't eat anything. (Other than that I find everything you've said to be true. I think you get it.) Once i can get rid of the infection blood sugar will straighten out easily. But some infections (candida, yeast, fungus) are very difficult to get rid of, fly under the radar, and can seriously mess up your blood sugar. When you have an infection it keeps your blood sugar too high your body will send insulin to deal with it. Insulin loves to store fat and hates to let go of fat. Very difficult to lose weight with an infection. I would say the order is different. You have to get rid of low flying infections (maybe some allergies also) first, then you can lose weight. Run, bike, swim, eat as you said...and blood sugar will straighten out.

I need some help don't know what else to do. I do exercise 2 to 3 days a week also.

I really need to find out how to keep electrolytes up while dropping nearly all carbs & sugar. Heart palpitations are no fun. Kidney pain has almost entirely stopped and tingly feelings in my toes have also almost totally gone. My energy isn’t too great though and I do have Redmond’s real salt for sodium,, nu salt for potassium and magnesium l threonate for magnesium and I eat cheese, bone broth and low sugar milk for calcium. I don’t supplement much though due to fear for furthering kidney issues. But I really don’t want my heart doing this…..
Any help would be hugely appreciated it.

My question to Dr. Fung is this. A person who was a sugarholic is diagnosed with type 2 diabetes immediately eliminates all the candies, soft drinks, desserts etc that got him there. He goes keto/low carb takes in more water etc. and no fructose. In other words drops 20# ending up at 175# 5'10" ht. This goes on for 2 years to the date I write this. The pancreas is no longer "fatty" and is well rested as is the liver. I know from experience when I wake my sugar is higher than when I went to bed (well known). I eat a healthy breakfast and lunch every day but never dinner. In the evening. Snacks are a cheese slice, small bag of pistachios and 1 or two slices of cheese & 1 or 2 BP coffees. At night before bed my sugar is never over 120 and can go as low as mid 90's. I am active with physical labor every day until I return exhausted.
Now, why, after two years of giving my liver and pancreas a rest am I still considered diabetic and have to continue being extra cautious. It seem that I should have reset my glucose equilibrium level and glucose tolerance but I have not.
Doesn't this suggest that there is another mechanism at play here. I have heard for example of a link between Ceramides, a type of toxic cholesterol and type 2. This is one possibility. Should we not be looking at some irregularity pathway like Ceramides or some other pathway in the gut itself which contributes to the problem. In other words if you change diet, drop carbs, weight eliminate sugar all of which we know are contributors yet still we are diabetic it points to another contributing factor. Perhaps some molecule that is at much higher levels in diabetics that is much lower or absent in non diabetics.
Perhaps hyperinsulinemia is the result of a broken switch stuck in "on" and we need to look at a way of resetting that switch or regulating insulin levels. Shouldn't this be where the research should be directed. Intuitively you would think that if you remove or greatly reduce the cause "high sugar intake" and "obesity" the body should reset itself or establish a new equilibrium, and if it fails do do so look for another contributor.

It is just crazy that Doctors do not get nutrition training in Medical schools.
Every doctor visit should include some nutrition discussion. The majority of the population is over weight or obese leading to high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer. Schools and hospital cafeterias should be leading the way to good health by setting the example of what is a healthy meal and teaching people what to eat and why.. Every person in the hospital for heart disease should have a nutrition class before being checked out from the hospital with follow up education and training in nutrition. Medicare and Medicaid should require patient nutrition education as part of their standard of care. Nutrition information should be run on the hospital TV channel.

It's huge that the ADA now has reconsidered their view that diabetes is irreversible. I'm thinking it is that that which destroys my ability to get decent insurance. I can prove I've had A1c below pre-diabetic for four years. A couple years ago, I had a big argument with my insurance company after having brought it down and kept it down. I told them I was healthier than the average person my age, who is likely pre-diabetic, or at least insulin resistant, yet their form asks if I've "ever been diagnosed" diabetic. It doesn't take into account being "in remission."

I think of fasting as a therapeutic treatment. If I have a disease and a doctor prescribes a therapy to treat it, I willing take the treatment. The term, "diet", has become problematic in our culture, so calling it therapy has helped me accept fasting. I am completely free of type 2 diabetes after struggling with it for 25 years. I was taking insulin for the past 12 years. I stopped taking insulin one month after starting IF!

if full-cells are the problem, then shouldn't fasting for just 24hrs clear out the 300g of the glucose that is stored in them? what about the triglycerides that are stored inside the cells (about 100g?) .. do they contribute to a "no room available" problem in the cell?

I’m confused. You seem to suggest that taking metformin is not good and the goal is to lose weight. Yet metformin leads to weight loss so why is it bad? I have just been diagnosed type 2 and the doctor wants to put me on metformin but I refused saying I want to try and reverse it by losing weight. So why is that the right decision?

May God bless you Dr. Fung! Thank you for changing the tide/paradigm of T2D. Yes it is simple common sense - why would you treat a over insulin problem with drugs that increase insulin!??! Epic fail of conventional medicine, kinda like misinformation....

Type 2 diabetes is a multiphase adaptive defence against an unnatural toxic diet. A point is reached where metabolic flexibility is lost. Like a hybrid gas-electric vehicle the body can no longer switch from glucose gas to fat electric. Once this happens you are driven by hunger from falling blood glucose levels to eat every few hours. Restoring metabolic flexibility can be a long haul effort. Time restricted eating, elimination of toxic seed oils and eating protein and fat first are key. But purging the liver and especially the pancreas of ectopic (toxic) fat can take many months of persistence.

Yes it’s an energy overflow problem. Yes, it’s a dietary problem. But it’s not a problem of too much brown rice, black beans and fruit. Why even talk about low fat vs low carb? What matters is you eat healthy whole foods, mostly plants. You don’t need to go low carb, just look at the clinical studies by Neal Barnard and also the guys at Mastering Diabetes.

it is all about the GPL-1 pathway. and my understanding is, that GPL-1 is NOT directly a hunger suppressant. that would be the purpose of PYY.
however, if you understand that more GLP-1 reduces glucagon production in the alpha cells of the body und less glucagon results in lower gluconeogenesis then you come close to understand the hunger reducing effect:
one part is, that a lower blood sugar level results in lower insulin and that increases lipolysis. that means the body starts "to eat it's own body fat". so plenty of calories from that side.
and on the other side, when the liver turns down gluconeogenesis, then less amino acids are wasted. that means less hunger from that side because you don't need to eat that much protein.
it is very nice that now injection pens for artificial GLP-1 is available (Ozempic) which eliminates insulin resistance and all the negative side effects that we call a disease are completely gone now.
however the ROOT CAUSE has still not been treated.
to find a fix, we have to understand the source of the GLP-1(, PYY) pathway:
how does GPL-1 stay high in a healthy person?
GLP-1 and the real direct hunger suppressing hormone PYY are both being produced in the L cells of the gut. but to do so, the L cells in the gut need to be fueled with the short chain fatty acids acetate, propionate and butyrate.
if the L cells get these short chain fatty acids, everything is fine. but where are these short chain fatty acids coming from? well, certainly not from fasting. they are being produced from the right good gut bacteria. this is where the ROOT CAUSE of diabetes type 2 lies. and this need to be fixed.
it is on one side a blessing that we have modern medicine with anti-biotics to kill bacteria when you have a bacterial infection, but this blessing is at the same time a curse because these anti-biotic drugs do there job very well and kill all bacteria - including the good gut bacteria that make the short chain fatty acids. this is one of the ROOT CAUSES.
and because diabetes type 2 is such a slow progressing disease, it is not obvious to make the connection to anti-biotics use/abuse years before detecting diabetes. of course, other causes to destroy the gut bacteria are possible too.
now the million dollar question: how to fix this?
it turns out that everything that you eat is influencing your gut microbiome - for good or worse.
give these good gut bacteria the right food and they will multiply and produce these short chain fatty acids. the right food is fiber but it needs to be the right kind of fiber or a mixture of it.
turns out, that oats have the right kind or mixture of fiber.
and there are modern nutritionists who are actually prescribing an oat cure/treatment/theraphy:
to kickstart the growth of the right gut bacteria and have them in the right quantity do this:
3 days with 3 simple oat meals per day:
* 75 oat flakes (the best would be oat bran)
* a pinch of salt
* no artificial sweeteners, no sugar, no milk, no yoghurt - maybe a bit of apple, berries, cinnamon
* cooked in water
these 9 meals in total are kickstarting the change in your microbiome.
after this kickstart you switch to a maintenance phase and eat at least one of these oat meals every three days to refeed your gut bacteria to keep them happy forever.
DO NOT ADD ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS! some of the artificial sweeteners are disrupting the gut microbiome and this is exactly not what you want. and some are directly sabotaging the GLP-1 pathway! for me, the PYY/GLP-1 pathway is getting disrupted from coke zero and i get very hungry. even after eating a lot there is still a kind of satiety feeling missing.
comparison of oat flakes with oat bran:
oat flakes: 58g of carbs, 10g of fiber
oat bran: 48g of carbs, 15g of fiber
oat bran is a bit harder to get, if not in your local store, buy online.
these oat meals has to be combined with a low carb lifestyle with enough animal protein to push fat burning.
in extreme cases, glucomannan (konjak) powder can be mixed with whey protein to make a shake to address the same PYY/GLP-1 pathway as well (enough water is important here as well).
or maybe you experiment with oat bran + konjac powder + inulin power in shakes but be careful not to overdo it and always drink enough water with it because the fiber binds a lot of water in the body!
all the best,
stefan.

He is accurate about the felonious behavior of the medical profession.
However he is ignoring the lack of diabetes of Asians during their thousands of years of huge carb consumption.
Seed oils are the root cause. Consuming over 2 percent omega 6 fatty acids causes insulin resistance, as Asians are now discovering.
He is close but no cigar

One word: EXERCISE. The cells stop taking more energy when they are constantly full from overeating and not moving around. As soon as you start exercising they adjust their biochemistry and start accepting more energy (as they are burning the stored one now). You don't need a 3/4 hour lecture for that. Go back to what our ancestors did: eat moderately and move around more.

I am confused, perhaps my pancreas has burnout but probably it has Fatty deposits... I have tried to eat KETO.. still my BS is high currently is miserable to go without any carbs..like as suggested am on 50Grams a day as x25Grams 11am Brunch & 25grams Dinner 5pm.. IF after 6pm drinking H2O only.
I have a gastric band for 12 yrs have lost 5 stones + in that time.. but started T2D since I was 60 over 5 yrs ago.. now 65 Diabetes seems to not be a reversal option for me.. My insulin Humalin 3 Am 26-30 Pm 22-30 units .. My Hba1c is 77 and quite high..trying to get down.. Have protein in my Urine.. CKD level 1 normal BP ..My Cousin is T1 Diabetes since the age of 9..
My brother is T2D as was my Mother. help what advice can anyone give..As soon as I stop insulin the BS shoots ⬆️ up..but under the circumstances I will stop the insulin.. I have a Diabetic Nurse, GP is probably working from home. Does not talk to me, NHS England, so I will take it upon myself by the information I have gleaned from Dr Fung.

Autophagy is the natural cellular recycling process that rids our body of old or malfunctional protein. This sets in motion the process of rejuvenation as our body rebuilds new proteins to replace the old ones. Autophagy is a powerful method of healing and is best activated by fasting. Thank You Dr. Fung. I have been intermittent fasting for almost two years now. I try to tap into autophagy every few month or so. I have lost eighty lbs and kept it off for well over a year now with no problems at all. You have changed my life.

I started experimenting with fasting 7 days ago. Monday I did one meal no carb. Same for Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday I did a Water fast 48 hours, and back to one meal for Saturday and Today. I can tell you there is something happening to my body and mind. I have lost several inches in my waist and I feel great. My mind seems to be more clear. Pick your hard folks. It really is that simple. Doc I have watched your videos and been educating myself about fasting and Autophagy

Autophagy is really powerful. I lost nearly 95% of chronic inflammation lower back pain, back pain that has been lasting for over 3 years. After refeeding I'm still not returning back to the usual but in a healthier state. Other than that, my liver biomarker has improved drastically by 50% from an advanced fatty livers.

I'm grateful for excellent vids like this where Dr. Fung does a nice job of explaining the science behind the benefits of fasting that help keep me motivated. After yrs of plant based/standard caloric restriction, the drop in body fat composition & increased energy with fasting/keto is astonishing.

I’ve been prediabetic and have hypertension for a few years already. My blood sugar levels and blood pressure have been normal the last few days.. I just wish I had found these videos years ago!

Sometimes your body just tells you what it needs, fasting the second day in a row now without feeling hungry. Was concerned first but I'm energetic, happy and clear minded.

I have absolutely no idea what autophagy has done for me but I’m gonna continue as I know it doesn’t harm. I’m 66 and fat adapted so I fast 41 hrs twice a month with a goal of 48 hrs. I really enjoy OMAD.

Starting a prolonged fast tomorrow @JasonFung - goal is 8 days. Recovering from Covid last 11 days so hoping autophagy will repair the damage Covid did to my upper respiratory system and digestive tract (nausea and throwing up were a part of my Covid illness). Thank you for great content and educating us on the benefits of fasting!!

Such an excellent explanation! Glad you are bringing into the public knowledge. Sadly it won’t be promoted in mainstream because they can’t make money from people fasting.

I want to Thank You Dr. Fung I found one of your videos on fasting and the biggest losers 1 year ago before I was going in for a surgery. Started fasting worked up to one meal a day went from 240 to 190 at 5’11”. I turn 60 in a month my goal now is to get to 185 the same weight I came out of high school at. Doing this for a year with no problem I think proves to me I will do this for the rest of my life. Could not have done it without you and Dr. Ekberg love him as well. Thanks Again

Has anyone here noticed you can eat less then before and feel full ?
I was a rice vaccum, an animal, i could eat ridiculous amounts of food enough to get black listed in a all u can eat Chinese resto. Now after a month of OMAD every day and once a week 48h/water only when I break my fast with a little meal just to start I'm feeling full !!!
It's amazing !!
