All of them have nastier handles and better individual highlights as well as highlight packages compared to Reaves (I tried to pick players who are still playing or played extremely recently w.r.t. Kemba). I get the whole "build up" thing but I'd rather just have more of their highlights earlier. Brian Scalabrine has highlights on par with that first Reaves highlight, which ruined the video for me. 1 Reply Hicko · 2 replies @Longtime420 @Longtime420 12 days ago Yo I got smooth balls handling 2 Reply @gxurdme1124 @gxurdme1124 1 month ago first Reply @supremegreens707 @supremegreens707 1 month ago tatum got the best handles behind kyrie 1 Reply 1 reply Top 10 Ball Handlers In NBA History Nonstop 880K subscribers Subscribe 40K Share Download Clip Save 2,683,661 views Apr 14, 2021 Here's our take on the NBA's 10 greatest ball handlers of all time. But I actually had a hot take on the best NBA ball handlers OAT yesterday. All these guards are incredible with the rock. But if I were to choose the best, it's definitely #1 on this list. Even though his handle is flashy, Kyrie does something that not all ball handlers do. Most ball handlers have quickness, especially changing direction, but their movements are to find space and/or draw the defense. That's why a good number of players on this list are known for their assist proficiency. They want to make space. This gives them options when attempting to score. From there, you get guys who have outstanding court vision who can dish it off (Nash, Paul, and Williams), guys who can come off the dribble for a shot (Harden and Curry), and guys who had pure instinctual talent, becoming the go-to firearm whenever their team needs a shot (AI and Crawford). Albeit with a fair share of ball hogging. All these guys, though, seem as though control of the ball is their highest priority. Which... of course, right? You're a ball handler, you aim to control the ball well. Watch Kyrie play. Where all the others on this list have insane control of the ball, Kyrie seems more like he just has more body control/physical awareness than any other pro, ever. The ball handling is the byproduct, not the movement. I think this is what makes him so dangerous. He takes every moment to put the ball where he wants, somewhere the defender can't reach it. But his moves don't ever seem... planned. He figures where he wants to go, reads the defense, and uses his amazing dexterity to execute. He almost handles a basketball the way Barry Sanders ran a football. You know he'll do something amazing, but it will be in a way you've never seen before, even from him, simply because he only operates in the moment. That's the best way I can describe it. I'm sure some will disagree, but it can't be understated that very few, if any, players of professional basketball (and pro sports in general) have the body control Kyrie has. Looking over all my favorite ball handlers, they all have a unique approach to dribbling. They broke the mold once Kyrie put his bid in to enter the league. And this concludes my useless analysis. Reply @segzkelly @segzkelly 1 year ago I never new James harden had the three degrees ✊🏾🤣🤣💯 1 Reply @ghedneildagalea6958 @ghedneildagalea6958 2 years ago CP3 should be ranked higher solely because of his low TO. If the title was top 10 "dribblers", I have no complains. But since it says "ball handlers", then TOs should be accounted for (ball security). 48 Reply 3 replies @Bojacc357 @Bojacc357 2 years ago Great list, I would like to honorable mention Magic Johnson. 6'9 spinning in traffic, wheeling, and dealing in showtime. 14 Reply @pierrecalderone @pierrecalderone 9 months ago Shame no Marbury. Thought Pistol Pete woulda made it too, considered they called the slightest travel back then. 2 Reply @bossfan49 @bossfan49 11 months ago (edited) You guys need to stop saying players aren't athletic just because they don't have a 40+" leap. You say Nash wasn't athletic by any means, then contradict yourself by describing his speed and dexterity. He taught his nephew (Kyrie) how to ball. 26 Reply 4 replies @kicreati4632 @kicreati4632 2 years ago "I swear if Kyrie ain't top 3" Well it seems he good 3 Reply @NoTypeofSkill @NoTypeofSkill 1 month ago Difficult list, because it really depends on the situation. Most players know Kyrie is intrinsically a natural ball handler and offensive style. But what about the others? I’ve seen Steph with such extreme ball handling sometimes in some scenarios. Whereas Durant can do a crossover unexpectedly and shock me. Considering he’s 7 foot with insane wingspan and handles well. KD difficult to guard, according to 19 votes (NBA players). Also he’s either top 10 or top 5 in shooting so that’s a cherry on top. Also Derrick or CP3 or Harden also have noticeably good handles with the ball. Sometimes Harden go crazy with the crossovers. The one that stands out athletically is Curry and Kyrie, so fast. Especially when Curry mixes Kyrie handles and shooting. Best point guard in my opinion. For example you list Harden very high for step backs and Euro steps which are moves where you pick up the dribble and not keep controlling the ball as part of the offense. The same with a couple of other options in that list that would be more adept in a list of Top ten Moves. Ball handlers would include players like Tony Parker who was able to penetrate between tight defenses and multiple opponents without breaking the dribble, or even slip and lose balance and still keep the dribble alive, get up, and continue the play. And like him, others. Reply @scruffd0g193 @scruffd0g193 1 year ago Yeah Kyrie handles are next level all time great. That is much more difficult and with hard fouling defenses to boot. To me the most impressive ball handler in history is someone who the ball looks as if it's on a yo yo and can dribble into traffic and dribble out if no options open up, control the dribble the whole time and have controlled dribble at fast sprinting speeds. Not many are in this category but Mark price is the quintessential dribbler in my eye. So “hitting the gym” would have made no sense for him and would probably would have reduced his speed. He passed the ball. Especially when he was traded to teams who could make buckets. Iverson routinely made 10+ assists. He took a ton of “bad shots” but usually went to the line. If he played in todays league he’d average 45-50 pts. Kyrie has better pure handles.
