In this list we shouldn't care about championships or MVPs. Also, if you haven't participated in the Slam Dunk Contest, you should be disqualified from this list (Sorry). I think dunking should be evaluated based on power and aesthetics. Power only is not enough. However, I liked the Darrel Dawkins part. Good job on the effort (Like)! Granted there is some creative and talented dunks going on, but they are uncontested, exhibitions that are just for show. Real dunks come in games, against opponents, and when your playing hard and putting minutes in on both sides of the ball. Just the fact that Wilt was not on this list is very telling. Today's game is a ballerina's game, no contact, tic tack fouls and not great defense is no comparison to the game prior to the late 90s and decades earlier. Missed a bunch of names on this list. Ron Harper before he blew out his knee was almost on par with Vince Carter. John Starks had some monster dunks for a guy barely past 6 ft. He listed as 6-3 I believe but that was not accurate. Kenny Norman of the Clippers had an awesome style I've not seen the like of since. Larry Johnson was a great dunker. Carl Malone. James Worthy. Tom Chambers. Alonzo Mourning, Allen Iverson, Hakeem Olajuwan and many more. This list is what I would call a populist list, not a well thought out historical list that has been well thought out. Like a real list that carries weight. I am not afraid to say that no experienced professional media person who reports on pro basketball would agree with this list. Although of course there are selections on this list that do belong, the order and omissions stand out like a sore thumb though. That said, the greatest top ten of all time is a little easier to assess as it is a relatively small group. But Wilt Chamberlain definitely should be there and possibly Bill Russell, Robert Parish, Kevin Garnett, and possibly some other players from the decades prior to the 80's that I am not familiar with. That is where the research comes in, and to be honest these lists should probably be broken down into eras. That would make it more inclusive and give credit where credit is due to those who stood out in their time. Also probably split into power dunkers and showboater\creative dunkers cause they are 2 very distinct styles. The showboat\creative ones are often uncontested, so that needs to be considered as well. Things like Shaq did most of his dunks while carrying someone up with him. Same with Wilt, and other big men. It was a good video and I enjoyed it, but as is obvious, I don't agree with all of the selections and obviously think there were some glaring omissions, just my opinion as a 55 year old who has watched decades of basketball and played decades of basketball.
